The place looks a little dirty & worn from the outside but we were so hungry we thought to give it a try. They weren’t too busy so the pizza came up quick. I would say it’s slightly below average. I like a more raised crust and ours was crispy. As we were ordering we noticed that the ones coming out of the oven looked slightly over cooked. We asked for light cooked and got what we asked for. Guys behind the counter were pleasant but lacked a little life. Probably would not come back, nothing special.

Excellent bbq chicken sandwich. Get it with grilled onions and you will be in heaven.

If you’re not going to honor your hours you should change them. Unilocal and Google say 11pm. You guys have shady service all the time

Been coming here my whole life. Can’t be beat! Only when the kids slack off or it’s too busy does the food ever lack quality. So don’t be slacking In there guys!

1. Solid crust with good crunch and weight because 2. It has to be to hold up to the weight of the piles of awesome toppings 3. Which are fresh and delicious and 4. There’s cheddar cheese on there! Which makes this 5. Like the best pizza ever. I have loved Village Host since I first came here when I was 4 or 5 years old and I still love it. So much.

Tonight was our first visit to this place and we will most definitely be back. The staff taking our orders and at the bar were both friendly and responsive. I appreciated when we told them it was our first visit and can they share their favorites, they did(can’t stand an «everything here is good»). We ordered the pesto bread with cheese(awesome) soup for my 7 year old(he took one bite and gave me a double thumbs up) burger for 12 year old(solid marks but not as good as mom’s home burger), pizza to share(great crust and cheesy) and the deluxe cheese burger which we devoured. Our boys enjoyed playing a few video games while we adults liked watching the GSW while having beer and vino. Thanks village host for a great first time on a Saturday night!

I’ve been coming here pretty much my whole life. This is without a doubt some of the best pizza ever. It’s all in the crust — crispy, crunchy, with a dusting of delicious cornmeal. The sauce is incredible too — tangy and with a little spiciness. Their cheeseburgers are actually pretty amazing too!

What a shame. 20+ years I’ve been getting great pizza here. 2 weeks ago I ordered my «usual”-salami EXTRA cheese= What? What is THATSMELL! I open the carton and there is a DARK meat, supposedly salami. I called the parlor and got some woman who assured me that the salami was the same-«I’ve been here six years». BS. ! I EATTHATSALAMI! What a shame. The greatest pizza parlor on the peninsula has resorted to buying some crap ass salami to cut costs. Or the girl whose been there 6 years knows more than History. Damn.

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place before! They have DELICIOUS pizza– if I don’t make it myself, this is the only place I’ll order from. Perfectly done thin crust pizza, with tasty toppings and good value. These are NOT the doughy, thick crust pizzas some people like– but I LOVE them!

This tired old joint is about as old-school as it gets. Looks like about 1982 inside. But the pizza is pretty good, particularly the crust, which was a «10» on a 10-scale. Sauce could use a bit more kick but was OK. Ditto for the pepperoni. But that crust. perfection.

I ordered a small sausage and pepperoni This was the worst pizza ever Extra sauce, raw dough, and pepperoni half done… I used to come here back in 2003 and it was the best pizza by far and now it’s just shit The pizza quality went down as meth usage in the US went threw the roof I suggest you start hiring ppl that love pizza instead of those that are just interested in a check to later exchange it for meth

I have been ordering and going to this place for years. I love the food they not only have pizza but excellent sandwiches to boot. The beer selection is not that big but good enough order a pitcher get some grub sand hang out and wtlatch the game. They have always been really nice and never was disappointed in their food, justwished they made bigger pizzas than the large they offer.

Awful. Pizza was just the usual lazy«how much pie can I sling?» you tend to find on the west coast. Rush-crust, cloying sauce, and toppings bought in bulk(seemingly). Emphasis on minimum overhead and maximum turnover. Sad for what should be a great neighborhood joint. To all my Belmont neighbors — demand better pizza! Ok, so I am picky about pizza. I probably would have given three stars for the overall ambience, location, the order-taking staff, and yes even the pizza. But things went wrong. The bartender was passive aggressive on top of being rude. I indicated that the Sam Adams lager might be switched with the Sierra(I know both beers well) and she just said flatly«no that’s not possible» without further investigation, and followed up with scowls for me for the uncomfortable remainder of our interactions. This little attempt at improving their operation was met with my waiting ages to get a pitcher of root beer for my boys(she decided it was time for a lengthy chat with one of my less pizza-discriminating neighbors). Plus, the 3 cups provided were stacked on top of each other, with ice only in the topmost cup. Not to bitch, but how is that useful to me? And who does that? Men’s bathroom was an out-and-out disaster which I discovered early in the meal after my littlest got overly friendly with his under-iced root beer … and 30 minutes after reporting this concern I returned to the bathroom(post-meal) to discover nothing had changed. All I can say is, think about your customers. You are lucky to have them. Improve your product and your customer service and maybe you have an AWESOME4.5 star neighborhood pizza joint. Or maybe you’re making enough of a profit that you don’t care. If that’s the case, please SELLYOURPLACE to someone who does. Also the pizza was pretty crappy. And stop with the cheddar.

I’ve been eating here since 1977 so it pains me to write this. PLEASEDON’T UNDERCOOK your pizzas. The last three pizzas I’ve eaten there in the last 30 days have all been undercooked(2 to go, 1 eat in.) The center was doughy, soft, white and limp. Last night I got wise so when I ordered over the phone for pick up I asked that the pizza be cooked a bit longer so the edges were crispy. It is always the same polite girl on the phone and she said«Sure. It will be ready in 15 mins.» I get there in 12 mins and it is already boxed up. This does not bode well to my request of cooking a bit longer to make it crispy. Sure enough, my pizza was soft, doughy and cold in the center of the crust. Edges were not crisp. This is so disappointing. Village Host, please don’t undercook your pizzas! I’ve been eating here through all your renovations over the last 35+ years, remember the jukebox & wood paneling. Sigh, thank you for keeping Ms. Pac Man.

Visited for the 1st time last week & the Vegetarian pizza I got was delicious! It wasn’t super greasy like some pizza places and though I normally do not like onions & tomatoes on my pizza, it tasted great here! Super friendly service, cozy little place & great pizza! I’ll be back…

Very tasty beer selection for such a small bar, but it keeps me coming back. If you’re going to sit at the bar be ready to talk to the people next to you because its small and cozy. They do have a few specialty items on a «secret» menu. If you go here often enough you’ll soon learn the ways of the Jedi Master cooks in the kitchen who make delectable little sandwiches and pizzas(think bacon), they can put bacon on just about anything and everything they serve and it opens up a world of possibilities, just gotta know the right guys to talk to. I come here for the Shock Top and to hang out with friends and eat like Kings.
