Planet Fitness – Belmont – Daniel Webster Hwy

Please keep in mind that this is a review of this particular gym — it’s a Planet Fitness — so you cant expect all the fluff… but for $ 10 bucks a month this place is spot on.
They have plenty of cardio equipment, tvs (sadly not attached to the machines so you are limited on what you can watch), a large free weight area, two bench press machines and a ton of weight machines spread across 2 large rooms. Ceilings are vaulted so the ventillation is good and it’s always relatively clean.
I don’t use the locker room here or the showers so I can’t comment on that — but for a place to get a good hard workout in it’s excellent.
Plus it’s never too busy or over-​crowded so there is no waiting in line for a machine or mirror space.

It is what it is, for $ 10 a month. Lots of treadmills, bikes ect, and plenty of weight machines, but it would be nice to have more free weights. Also, too crowded during peak times, tough to get a locker and you’ll be waiting for equipment. some one else review mentioned the locker room size too. I think they have really outgrown the current facility, so it would be nice to see them expand. There is plenty of room to expand, as currently adjoining suites are empty. And bring in some more free weights or body-​weight cross fit type section. Capitalize on the popularity of those types of workouts.

I have to leave an addition to my initial review, and unfortunately, dock them a star. This is due to their spartan accommodations in the locker room. It’s a huge gym, an opened 24/​7, yet they only have one bathroom stall, two urinals and two showers. The bathroom itself is also very dated and shabby, and quite claustrophobic. It was just a very poor initial design, it seems. Beyond that, though… I have no real complaints.

You get what you pay for here (all Planet Fitness’, not just this location). It’s $ 10 a month but it’s literally a huge room full of equipment that you have-​at. To do tanning, to go to another Planet Fitness location, or to have a personal trainer is a different/​more expensive membership.
It’s nothing fancy, but there’s no complaints either. They have several televisions at every location with a variety of channels located in front of all the ellipticals, treadmills and bikes. They have changing rooms with bathrooms, showers, and lockers. They have water fountains, and also they have have head phones and bottled water for sale at the front counter.
