Went in here about an hour ago to order a LARGE half veggie half pineapple pizza. For one, I had to say hello first to the kid behind the counter. Like, loudly so he’d say hello back. Customer service fail #1. I order the pizza. He charges me $ 18.99 for a pizza… I had a squirmy teething baby on my hip so I wasn’t gonna argue. I thought maybe it’s going to be amazing and worth the 19 bucks. He didn’t try to help me with signing the receipt. Seeing I obviously was having trouble signing my name on the damn thing… Just could have held it in place for me. But oh no, wouldn’t want to make you WORK. At the end of the transaction I say, ok. So what like 15 minutes? He says back. Yeah. That’s it. No thank you. No nothing. He sucks. That place sucks. On top of everything .I get home, open the box and the pizza is tiny. And nothing glorious. Definitely not worth the money. Was a soggy typical pizza. Save your money. Or if you want to spend the money, do yourself a favor and go next door to stone hearth. It’s delicious, and organic.

Some of the other reviews are so strange. I have been going to Gregory’s since I was 5. Best Pizza, great service.

I would give them 10 stars if I could. I’ve been eating here since kindergarten(seriously) and it’s my go to spot for as long as I can remember. Greg’s holds lots of memories for me. I lived in NYC for a while and can honestly say I missed this place. They are always kind and accommodating on the phone, as I like to create my own sub, and usually quicker than the delivery time given. I wouldn’t be surprised if the people calling them«grouchy» or «rude» are grouchy or rude themselves. They basically are the type of people that get what they are given and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that!

Probably the best Greek style pizza in Belmont, which certainly isn’t saying much. Still, I commend them for their very decent crust which is light and flaky, not drowned in olive oil like some places I could name. Good pizza crust tastes great even reheated and Gregory’s passes this test to my satisfaction. The cheese is another story. It just tasted old and flavorless. The sauce was sort of bland and scarce but I’ve had much worse, especially in Belmont. They were out of slices with actual toppings when I asked for one and didn’t seem particularly interested in making a new pie just to give me a slice. I did find this somewhat odd – not the thinly veiled contempt for their customer, which I’ve come to expect from pizzerias in the area, but the fact that it didn’t even occur to them that someone else might want to order something other than a plain cheese slice at some point later that afternoon. As far as ambiance goes, this place is a dive – but an unapologetic dive, which I find somewhat endearing. I like that it’s cheap and unappealing to hipster crowds. I also appreciate that they keep a generous variety of parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, oregano, et cetera out as a sort of apology for the apparent mediocrity of their pizza. On a closing note, the guy behind the counter seemed so miserable he actually reminded me of Sal Governale from the Howard Stern Show. I thought back to all of the stories of Sal describing his life in a living hell of «pit-zerria» and suddenly felt like I understood the staff of Gregory’s a bit better. I rate Gregory’s three stars. Two for the food, one out of sympathy. Keep the change, ya filthy animals.

Terrible customer service, grainy/fatty chicken, they always mess up my order. Ordered over the phone today and they were so rude, hung up on me before I was finished ordering so I had to call back. Asked for extra cheese on my salad, he said«but that’s extra,» as if he assumes I can’t afford the extra .75 … Also Ordered 2 slices of pizza and when I went there to pick it up he said I had to wait 5 min, so I said ok that’s fine. He said«so do you want it? You gonna pay for it?» Avoid.

I’ll start off by saying I’ve only been here once and it was this past Saturday. So I’m not really sure what the deal is with all of the negative reviews. Maybe they hired some new cook and he just happened to make my food awesome? I’m not from the Belmont area but I was visiting family. We were hanging outside which soon was moved to the garage due to rain and a tornado warning. I called up and ordered a large cheese, a large pepperoni and a spinach-feta calzone. The guy delivering the pizza was a good guy, the food was still warm and he didn’t complain about getting out of his vehicle to go into the rain. I’ve been in the Boston area for about 7 years and it has been a LONG time since I’ve had a good pizza. Like to the point that I’ve been considering Red Barron my go to spot because the pizza I’ve been getting delivered from around my area has sucked so bad. With that said, both the pepperoni and cheese were both great and I don’t eat spinach but my fiancée said the spinach-feta calzone was the best calzone she’s had down here in the 3 years she’s been here. I would definitely go here again and I plan to when I hopefully move to the area in six months.

Food is not great, staff is even worse. Try ordering from a bunch of grouchy guys and then getting to eat mediocre food. That’s what you get here.

I couldn’t agree more with the comments about ther staff acting as if customers are bothering them. I made an order for a delivery and the guy on the phone taking the order was downright rude — not ‘we’re busy’ rude, I felt like I was asking for a huge favor to order a pizza. Not good business. No thanks.

I’ve been here a few times and enjoyed their Italian subs and their chicken fingers. I usually get a grilled chicken salad for lunch and they usually do that pretty well here as well. Good, solid place for lunch or dinner.

The person who mentioned the borderline contempt for their customers couldn’t have been more right. The guys who were behind the counter had a very Twilight Zone-esque way about them that screamed«Oh great, ANOTHER customer!» to me the whole time I was in there. I was worried one of them was going to snap at me when I chose to sit down inside and await my food. Someone should tell the gents that nobody is forcing them to stay in the business they are in,(unless the whole thing is a front of some sort for the FBI or MIB which wouldn’t surprise me given the oddity of the people working there). Oh, as for the pizza itself? I’ve actually had worse, but it wasn’t anything to write home about, and was the standard Greek-style«heavy on cheese and grease» variety. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there again, but if someone held a gun to my head(like the weirdos working in there probably wanted to), I guess it’s edible enough.

The place to go for a toasted tuna sub. When I lived in Belmont I must’ve eaten there 2 or 3 times a week. Good prices and selection. I’m not sure why peo Ple are complaining about the staff, I think the are awesome guys. After not eating here in months due to moving away from Belmont I came in and was instantly recognized. These guys are great! See for yourself I don’t trust some of the other reviews.

I will be quick and to the point with this one. The subs are good, the meals are good, the pizza isn’t so great(it is a greasy, greek style pizza) but some people like it depending on taste. My main complaint with Gregory’s is their staff. The majority of them are just impolite and somewhat stuck up, which is ironic considering they work at a pizza place.

The pizza isn’t knock-your-socks-off amazing, but this place is a local staple. It’s very inexpensive and really pretty good. Gregory’s is not a sit-down, glass-of-wine sort of a place, so people reviewing it need to stop comparing it to one; it’s a greasy spoon, but the best one around.(And speaking of grease, a truly great pizza should be greasy. You should feel a bit like you need a shower few a minutes after eating it. I’m sorry, but that’s a fact.) My favorite is a simple pepperoni and minced garlic pizza. Every time I’m back in Boston, I make sure to hit up Gregory’s.

Not bad, but not great. I mean, if I were ranking it against my weekly go-to spots, it would be more like a 1-star… but I’m not ever taking a date here or stopping in with friends from out of town to give them a taste of where I live. I was really hungry, and a little money-shy after ordering a TV last weekend. I wanted to hop in the car, pick up my S/O at work(Hi-Rise, yum!) and have a tasty sandwich while waiting for her shift to end… alas she parked me in and took her keys to work. So I walked my self-righteously angry self on down to Belmont Center. Sure, I could have gone for some tasty Indian or Thai food… but I was really looking to save a buck. So Gregory’s it was. Standard greasy HOP food. I had the Greek salad, which had adequate feta and kalamata olives. The lettuce was fresh and crispy, which I guess is a perk at this kind of place. I wanted a small fry, but they only sell them by the plate, so I went for it. I was amazed that, with my Snapple included, it cost me just shy of 11 bucks… what the hell, I should just go to Kashish for Indian! Yet, the Snapple was already open and I was swigging, so I handed over my card. It was awkward… I tried to sit and read the New Yorker while I waited, and felt too strange so I put it away. I overheard a discussion about bible camp and saw two middle-aged dads who I’m guessing work in Cambridge or Allston and therefore think they should dress like they’re in their mid-20’s. I mean, one of them had a sweatband on his wrist, and I think his shirt was from American Apparel. So, if you aren’t expecting an amazing meal, don’t feel like dishing out for a 20% tip(counter service only, kids), and could go for some people watching, check it out. You also aren’t likely to run into the little league team after they win the series, as the place is really too small to fit them all, and for me that is a huge plus.
