Delicious food, wine and dessert. Friendly, attentive, perfect service. A meal like this while traveling on business is a real treat. Plan to come back while we are here!

Not a whole lot of options for good Italian food restaurants in Belmont. Best seems to be Divino or Vivace. We decided to try their spaghetti with meatballs and gnocchi with cheese sauce. Don’t get their spaghetti; it is worse than stuff you buy at your grocery store and make at home. In fact, what you make at home will be better in taste and texture. Their gnocchi was somewhat good but the cheese sauce was nothing special. Also, initially, we had asked for Angel hair pasta and their cook said they did not have any. What?! How can you be out of Angel hair pasta and you are an Italian rest. Will try Vivace next time!

This is a surprisingly fancy restaurant in «downtown» Belmont. It has a traditional vibe to it with Italian style painted walls and linen table clothes. While dinner gets pretty busy here, lunch is also a great option. They have a more affordable menu at lunch that I recommend. I opted for their delicious ravioli. It had a really nice sauce and was a wonderful portion size!

One of my favorite go to restaurants. They are always consistent and I appreciate their authentic approach. Pasta is homemade and organic. Owner Vincenzo is a master chef and always goes out of his way to make us feel at home. Divino is also a good place for a small intimate events as well as catering.

I believe that Divino is as good of a neighborhood restaurant as we have in the area. The servers are all delightful, the food very tasty, and the pricing very appropriate. We don’t go all that often — but they make us feel like regulars and treat us very well. It has become one of ‘go to’ places in the area.

We had the lunch special — halibut and cod with their tomato soup. Service was great, attentive and prompt. Food was well-seasoned. We came at 1:30pm right before they close for the afternoon hour. We weren’t rushed out or pressured to leave once 2pm hit. Background music was relaxing.

Very popular place in Belmont. Parking lot behind the restaurant and one that you can use across Sixth Street. Street parking on Sixth too, since Divino can get busy. My roasted beet salad was excellent and my spaghetti with meatballs was good. Enjoyed the apple tart with ice cream dessert too. Excellent service. Three stars because there was really nothing that stood out here. I didn’t care for the fact that the noise level was really high. You have to shout to be heard across the dinner table.

This is my favorite restaurant on the peninsula. The food is amazing, the bar is excellent, and the staff is super friendly. I have eaten here at least 20 times, and I have never had a poor experience.

Parking is a little tricky, the small lot in back was full so I parked down the street & walked a couple blocks. The service was great! Everyone was very nice and attentive. I ordered the beet gnocchi which was good, a little blander than I expected but the texture was light & fluffy. Overall a good place to eat!

My friend hosted a dinner for her close friends in celebration of her small wedding, and it was delicious. Highly recommended: Tortelloni — amazing truffle sauce that was rich but still fairly light, with a really tasty veal and mortadella filling. For a ravioli, it had plenty of filling, each tortelloni was plump and well stuffed. The serving was fairly large and the price was pretty average for a plate at an Italian place. Risotto with mushrooms and rabbit — rabbit was flavorfully marinated, risotto was delicious. Huge serving. I cleaned the plate for the table :) Beet salad — Can’t get me to eat goat cheese too often, but I enjoyed it with the beets and buttermilk panna cotta and arugula that came with this salad. Calamari — I rarely see calamari in any other form aside from fried, but here it was grilled with a splash of lemon juice, on a salad of greens and canelloni beans. Fresh, light and different. Apple dessert — definitely the best dessert on the menu! Tiramisu — pretty good out of all the tiramisu I’ve had. Ok – Lasagna dolce — not bad sweet cinnamon flavored layered dessert. Branzino — This was just in my opinion — my favorite ways for fish to be served are still the traditional Asian ways my mother would cook them, so I was ehh on this. Everyone at the table loved it though. It’s grilled fish served with herbs sauteed greens and potatoes. They are able to filet it for you since it’s a whole fish. Meatball appetizer — not bad. 4 meatballs per serving. Not the highlight of the menu. Overall — one solid Italian restaurant, and a great experience for her special night :)

We were there this weekend to celebrate 2 birthdays and I have to say, first and foremost, how amazing the service was by our server Tullio. I was born and raised in Japan so my standard of good service is very high. Unfortunately, it’s very rare, more of an exception to find this level of service in the States, which he offered to us that night. We were dining with my toddler and he accommodated a half-portion of an item on their menu; also, he was very thoughtful to put in my toddler’s order first(I don’t know how often we’ve experienced at other restaurants that they bring out kids’ food last). Also, without any prompting on our part, which is usually what it takes, he noticed that the glass filled with just ice that we requested was low and almost all melted, so he replaced it with a fresh one. Food, of course, was excellent, as well. Everyone at our table was very pleased with their order. Spaghetti with meatballs, vongole, chicken breast wrapped with prosciutto and fennel seeds, and on their day’s special menu, beef stew. I also love their gnocchi with tomato sauce, which I didn’t have this time but have to say one of the best gnocchi I’ve ever had! Cheers

Third time here and it has been fantastic all three times anytime I can speak Italian at a restaurant makes for a great night. Went here for my birthday day dinner with friends and they made it super special. The food was really tasty and the service on point. The staff make you feel like family and being Italian I am super critical about Italian food — I only eat pasta at home or at families never order it out here I order it and enjoy every single savory calorie. All I have to say is pappardelle oh Lordy.

SACCHETTOVEGETARIANO — Fresh pasta«envelope» filled with vegetables and mozzarella cheese — Looks like a burrito — thin pasta(lasagna like but not layers) wrap the sauteed onions, bell peppers covered in a light tomato sauce. Light, simple and aromatic this dish was delicious and filling. The portion looks mediocre, looks can be deceiving! Would order this again. BEETGNOCCHI — Wow. WOW! Never been a fan of gnocchi, let alone think beets would be something to flavor it with but this dish was spot on. The gnocchi was cooked the perfect tender — now I understand why people love this pasta! Nice, chewy, qq, with still a bite, the hint of beet flavoring tossed in a creamy sauce was so divine. I could have easily devoured both dishes! Service is very friendly, food is fresh, comes out in a reasonable time and the ambiance is nice for a date. Only thing is it was a little too cold inside. Wore my coat and my friends coat and still chilly. Will definitely be returning!

Being Italian, I never order pasta out — BUT! I can’t pass up the pasta at Divino! He hand makes it fresh daily! The Pappardelle con Gamberi & Fungi at lunch is heaven!!! The gnocci is delightful! The wine list is perfectly balanced and they even have Tuaca for an after-dinner drink!

My daughter and I came here for dinner the other night and were so happy we did! We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, as if we were family, and were seated at a cute little table for 2 next to the window. We had the meatballs as an appetizer, the Pappardelle Bolognese, the Divino Salad, and the fresh fish. The fish was cooked perfectly with some lemony Swiss chard on the side. The meatballs were in this amazing sauce that we insisted on holding onto throughout our dinner to dip our bread in. All of it was so good! The restaurant was busy but not loud at all. We were able to have a conversation without having to yell across the table which is such a nice change from so many other places. Vincenzo, Carlos, and Tullio are all so welcoming and warm. We instantly felt like we were home. Can’t wait to go back!

Worked late tonight and I wanted something good, and close to my hotel. Thank you Unilocal for showing me Divino. I recommend calling ahead as they get very busy. The wonderful hostess who answered the phone made a reservation and held a table for me. The place was bustling and filled to capacity with happy patrons. My Lemon Drop Martini was probably the best I’ve ever had. I started off with a very capable Caesar Salad, and I wanted to try something different so ordered the SACCHETTOVEGETARIANO: Fresh pasta«envelope» filled with vegetables and mozzarella cheese. The sauce was outstanding(I believe it was a red pepper sauce, but I know it was delicious). My only regret — I was too full for dessert. Tomorrow, I’ll skip the salad ;)

This is my favorite Italian Restaurant in the Bay Area. The owners are friendly and helpful. The portions are very generous. I attend a Dinner Meeting once per month. The chicken option is always my favorite, and definitely not your typical«banquet food» which I am very grateful for. Most everyone in our group licks the plate, it is always so good. I also try to go on a regular basis and sit at the bar for dinner after working late. I always meet wonderful people to chat with while eating. The specials are always truly something special, and helps me to not eat the same things all the time. The Bartenders are attentive and know how to make my perfect vodka Martini! Excellent wine list too.

We enjoyed dinner at Divino last night. Probably the tenth time we have been in the last two years. If you like prompt and attentive wait staff, this is as good as it gets. They pay attention to the details, and that was very much appreciated by our family. The food was fantastic! I had the beet salad, which my father-in-law called a work of art. It was delicious. Others had the house salad or the spinach salad — again, delicious. All except my son had pasta, which was cooked to perfection and nicely sauced. My son had the veal scaloppine, which he loved. Can’t comment on desserts this time-we were all too full. But in past visits, the desserts were very good. This has become our go-to restaurant for a great meal. Also note: there is a large parking lot at the rear of the restaurant.

I didn’t know what to expect here, but was hoping for a good meal close to home. Unfortunately we ended up with mediocre food that was extremely overpriced. The food was not bad, just not at all memorable. Also, we paid $ 100 for 2 not so good cocktails and 2 main courses. Really?! Not with this kind of food.

We catered through Divino via a 3rd party vendor! So I review on behalf of my colleagues. The portions were huge and the taste was great. From a catering perspective, they had a clean and professional presentation. Overall, great experience. We’ll definitely keep them in the catering cycle!

If you enjoy waiting for a meal for 50+ minutes, this is the place for you! That aside, food was relatively bland and portions were fairly small. Parking is also very difficult as its on a busy street with no lot.

We ate there last night. Everything we ate was awesome except a special for the evening. We told our concerns to our service associate. We were offered free desert. On top of that the most expensive item in the house, my wife always picks those, was also removed from our bill. I have to say, there are scammers,(customers), out there that take advantage of an establishment that offers to admit a dish was bad. I feel that anyone who enjoys a tasty, fresh Italian meal would be silly not to come here for a go to place. Thanks to the staff for making our experience memorable. Oh, and don’t feel bad my wife has a filet minion curse, it’s never medium rare. We’ve had raw to burnt… Kinda funny…

I had the Spaghetti con pallette toscane. The meatballs actually had good flavor and the sauce was tasty. I had the peach tart for dessert and thought it was great. The peaches were fresh and still had a bit of a bite — not mush.

I was lucky enough to dine at Divino twice this week. Once for lunch and Saturday evening for dinner. For lunch I had the Divino Salad and the veal tortoloni… absolutely delicious! Returned on Saturday for dinner. Again, I had the Divino salad. I chose the lamb shank for my main dish and was not disappointed, In fact I was pleasantly surprised when it was served with gnocchi. Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. They make a great Manhattan too! I can see this is going to become a regular spot for me… so lucky to live in Belmont!

Came here tonight for my sister’s birthday. We had a reservation, we were late but it was no problem for them, which was nice. They bring really awesome bread to each table and refill it as much as you need(which was a few times for us because the bread was so good!). I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and it was really, really good. I mean the best I’ve had in years. On par with Italian pasta! It was the sauce that made it. If you don’t know what to get, go for the spaghetti. Service was fast, our food all came out on time and together and we were in and out in less than an hour, which was good for us because we had a birthday pizookie waiting at home! But I’m sure their desserts are delicious. Next time I go I’ll be sure to get something after dinner :)

I tend to rate restaurants based on food quality, and Divino definitely hit their mark their. Unfortunately the service was not up to par. If I felt things like this were as important as the quality of food, I would have given this place three stars. Our waiter was not super helpful, blunt, and not very friendly. The guy bussing tables on the other hand, did a better job than the waiter. My wife, parents and I came here on a Saturday and the place was absolutely packed. We started out with an order of the calamari, as well as the salame platter. The calamari was not deep fried, but was still quite tasty as was the salame platter. It came served with a few different meats, and some green olives. For our entrees I had the truffle and veal tortellini which was very, very good. I could easily drink a thermos of the sauce. The tortellini were also very good. My wife ordered the petrale sole which was cooked in a lemon sauce. This was probably my second favorite plate of the night. My parents ordered a pork loin that was fried, as well as the veal. All of these were very good, and came with a variety of tasty sides. For dessert we got two cannoli, the apple something(the second part of the name escapes me) and some gelato. They were all very good, with the apple thing being the star of the show,. Super good. Overall the restaurant was a better than average experience, thus the four star rating.

This place seems like a cool neighborhood spot, but the night we tried it they seemed full of regulars and given it was our first time, we definitely got second class service. We were seated in the second room — a bit larger but less connected to the ambiance of the restaurant. We were just looking for decent Italian in a no-frills environment and instead got average food(fish was fishy, watery and not awesome), their special wound up being something like salisbury steak and we generally walked away disappointed with the food overall. Cheese and salami board was good and the only thing that saved us… …because the worst thing was the hour wait from ordering to getting our food. With kids, this is a disaster and we were basically ready to go before the entrée arrived. They finally admitted(after repeated assurances it was coming soon — it wasn’t) that they had an issue in the kitchen. While we were waiting, lots of other tables were being served(including those in the«main» room) and I wondered whether somehow our table was their lowest priority. Even without the conspiracy theories, the food was average and the service was absent. I’m sure there are lots that really love this place, but we are definitely not going back.
