Our son and his family live in San Carlos in Silicon Valley and we visit frequently, eating at the many fine restaurants in the area. Station Café is one of the best. We have eaten there twice and have had fabulous meals both times. Most recently, we celebrated our granddaughter’s birthday there, and all six of us had wonderful meals. The shrimp and pancetta was really terrific as was the risotto. The pear and prosciutto appetizer was especially good. We shared four desserts: tiramisu, lemon tart, torta di nonna, and the chocolate salami – all were superb. Our waiter, Robert, couldn’t have been more helpful. If you’re ever in San Carlos, make sure you eat here!

Such courteous and knowledgable service from Robert(front of house). I loved being seated with the white table cloths and cloth napkins. Such a dramatic difference from eating there during the day time. It felt nice and romantic with my husband next to me eating. I’ve never had such fresh ciabatta — the sauce that accompanied the bread was to die for. My pasta dish was heavenly. The pasta was cooked perfectly! It’s such a gem to have such an authentic chef making genuinely honest food around the corner in San Carlos!

THENICESTRESTAURANTOWNERSEVER! They introduced themselves to my group and then asked each of us our names. They remembered them too! The place — small, cozy, nice table setting, clean. Feels like a little café from another world. Love watching the train go by. The food — Highly recommend the chicken, pesto pizza. Thin crust, amazing pizza, caramelized onions to die for. Service — As I said we could not have received better service. I don’t need to say much about this place because so many good things I could share but the main point is that you just need to try it for yourself. I tried my friend’s plates and delicious too(veal, seafood pasta plate, a very basic salad). HIGHLIGHTOFTHEFOOD: The sauce accompanied with the delicious dough bread — sauce was sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil and some secret ingredients the chef would not share! So good that they sell the sauce in jars for individual sale. Will come back very soon…
