This place is great for what it is. Don’t expect a five star seafood restaurant. Expect a very nice space to enjoy your evening with beautiful views, vacation-style drinks, some pretty decent food, and live music. Their service style is a little different than usual. The servers take care of your drinks, but you order food from the front trailer and they’re brought out to you. The menu is casual seafood and non seafood fare. Sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and a few entrees. I’ve had the lobster roll which wasn’t my favorite but still good. Tonight we shared the spicy crab and spinach dip which was AWESOME but they didn’t serve enough pita with the dip. We asked for more which they brought out to us but it still wasn’t enough. They brought us out tortilla chips to finish out the third remainder of the dip. I definitely preferred the tortilla chips to the pita. We also had the special volcano calamari. It was great, and it was sort of a Thai style sweet and sour dipping sauce. Then we shared the steamed clams. Some were closed. But the open ones were good and we really liked the sauce. Overall this place is great for a casual pier night. The crowd is very mixed. All ages enjoy this place. I’ve been here before a night out and also as the main event. For those who live near the area, it’s an awesome getaway. It feels just like vacation.

The views are really nice and thats the reason why you come here. The drinks arent anything to write home about and the food is fine. If you wanna drink a beer or have a rum bucket and have a nice view then this is your spot.

In a nutshell food sucks beautiful spot. I got a very expensive lobster roll and they totally ripped me off. They literally sprinkled a few crumbs of lobster on a huge clump of lettuce. You think people are not onto your game??? Use one lobster and spread it onto 10 rolls and save a buck. Thanks, will not be back!

I love the waterfront bars at the shore. This one is one of the newer places but is always packed. Good live music and great food. The only thing I didn’t like was no draft beer but found out this week that it’s because the beer lines couldn’t be run all the way out to the end of the dock. So I guess that was a good enough excuse… But the bucket of coronas were good.

I love this place. It has the best atmosphere and you can’t beat the view. The rum buckets are a few dollars more in comparison to other places but that’s not a big deal once you’re there. The food is good, obviously it’s not a five star restaurant but for what it is(a pretty bar) I think it’s good. I would definitely suggest going here for a nice and fun day or night

See my review on other 9th ave pier site, somehow they have two on Unilocal.Bottom line– zero customer service throws damper on location. Not worth it.

The atmosphere and view are worth a trip to 9th Ave Pier. I could sit out on the pier every night of the summer… surrounded by water, good live music, and awesome sunsets. I’ll admit the food isn’t spectacular, but it’s still good. It’s certainly not bad enough to warrant a 2 star rating. And I don’t understand the complaints about the drinks — the rum buckets are delicious, though a bit pricey. Side note: They own a mini golf course nearby, so if you have children you can send them down to play while you enjoy a couple more drinks.

See sunset photo. This isn’t a place known for great drinks or food. I’d suggest getting bottled beer vs. any of the drinks, and the crabcake sandwich.

I went at 12.30 in the afternoon for lunch. The place was empty, Two people at the bar and one OLDER couple sitting at the rear of the dining area. You sit yourself at a table. The waitress brings you a menu and asks if you want something to drink(I ordered 2 sodas) and then says you have to go to the counter to order your food and pay. It’s a good thing we were only 50 ft. from the counter. The OLDER people at the far end were 100 ft. from the counter! I think they were sorry they sat so far away. When The food is ready they will bring it to you. The food was served on a styrofoam plate and the sodas were in a small plastic cup. By the time the food came out, the ice in our sodas had melted and the drinks were warm. Before you leave the waitress asks if you’re ready to pay you’re bar bill. WTF I THOUGHT I PAIDFORTHESODASWHEN I PAIDATTHECOUNTER! I noticed a large garbage bin. The kind you see at a fast food restaurant. Before I left I asked the waitress if I had to clean up the table. She said that they would clean the table. What a crazy way to run a restaurant!!!

Wow, more mediocrity all around. This could be a great place, but instead more blah. The only micro brew available is 21 amendment wheat beer, the rest is typical coors and bud light trash. The food is awful. Our nachos had velveeta on them and seemed to have been made in a microwave, then served on a paper plate for that extra touch of class. Fish tacos were simple, small and fishy. Maybe the owners should visit Portland Oregon and eat at food trucks to realize how excellent, fresh and gourmet food can be prepared and served in limited kitchen environments. The live music was lame. Three guys barefoot doing bunk reggae covers with a crummy jack johnson feel to all of it. Why is New Jersey twenty years behind the rest of the culinary world? I don’t expect too much, the rest of New Jersey just expects much less and seems happy with it. Maybe another big storm will come and wash this place away…

Was there in Sept 2012. As odd as the system is I thought the serenity and amazing view was all worth it. Food and drinks were typical, but when you are at Jersey Shore you are there to relax and get away from it all. I have been trying to find out if it was up and ready for this season. I can not wait to return with my fiancée for his birthday weekend again I am on love with the Jersey Shore as my younger years were the Hampton’s. Can not wait to return to 9th Ave Pier.

Echo Scott P. Enjoy the view, relax and bask in the unique setting. Go early and leave early. Have a drink if you must– it’ll be watered down, and served in a plastic cup. Hope that you don’t show up when the live music is cheesy wedding like. And — under no circumstance sshould you wast your money on the food. It is inedible. A shame– becuase this place could really be something to Unilocal about

THISISWHAT U DOHERE. Go a little before sunset on a nice night on a weekday so its not too busy. Get a drink and relax somewhere out of the way hang out and enjoy the view. When the sunset view really catches your eye go take a few pictures of it have someone take a picture of you and you girlfriend/boyfriend/mom whoever. Then leave and go enjoy all the partying and great food that belmar has to offer. There’s nothing wrong with this place but after the view I mean I haven’t found a reason to stay and you can walk to a dozen GREAT places to eat.

2 stars for the location only, other than that 0 stars. Overpriced food & drink, no draft beer yet, I’m ok with how the ordering process goes, I’ve only been here for lunch so I did not have to wait for a table. I don’t foresee myself waiting for a table here. I hope it gets better because the views & location are awesome.

Went to this place for the first time this weekend. The good part: the views are spectacular. Great idea to make use of this marina that was kinda dumpy back in the 90’s. The bad: everything else. The seat yourself procedure made just trying to sit down stressful. The place was packed so we were left to stalk tables like hawks, trying to determine whose table was empty because they had just sat down or were about to leave. We had to stand around the perimeter of the seating area and when we finally found people getting up, it resulted in my mom having to practically get into fisticuffs with another patron who hadn’t waited as long as us! Once seated, we bused our own table and cleaned it off ourselves. After about a solid 15 – 20 minutes, our waitress approached us and asked us our drink order and said she’s back back with menus. Another 15 – 20 minutes later, and having to ask her again, the menus came, although she brought us 2(there were 4 of us). The ordering procedure of going up to the counter and ordering was fine. The food came out fairly quickly and my salad was not bad(but not great either, just meh all around). Thankfully, we paid for our food at the counter but we still had to wait another 20 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us and tell us she’d come back with our check. Another 10 – 15 minutes, the check FINALLY arrived. I have worked in busy restaurants on the shore and I know how busy and hectic it can get, but this girl just seemed oblivious to our table, which considering she’s only getting drinks for tables, I just don’t know why it was this difficult to get service. The waitress was very nice, but the service was still terrible. The other empoyees were genuinely pleasant but unconcerned about the table situation, our orders, etc. in general. This place is priced just high enough that I don’t see the point in coming back for dinner. Maybe a drink at the bar just to enjoy the view but otherwise, no way.

Can you say«Jersey Shore white trash hangout?» NYC drink prices for a small cup that is a fraction of the size of what you get in the city. No draft beer, food cooked or fried in a trailer. Nice view of the water. Horrible canned beach music when there’s no live musician. Still, a great view of the water and working fishing boats if you don’t mind hanging around with the tattooed trailer park crowd. Looks like plenty of parking.

I visited the 9th avenue Pier on the business’s first Saturday. It is a great location right on the water, and great for sunsets. It was very crowded and they had live music during the early evening. The problem with this place however, was the fact that all the tables are first come, first serve. There is no wait list or any system in order to sit down, which is really frustrating if you head there to eat. I would hope they fix that system. So I can’t say anything for the food as we had to leave to eat, it didn’t seem likely we would find a table. Beyond the table issues however, the bar is a great place to get an afternoon drink, great setting.
