So you all know i love me the outdoors… and this place is no exception. First off, it’s a campground, with showers! Can’t say i partook, since we normally just do 2 nights and then on home, but that is a pretty cool feature!(25cents for 2 minutes) We got a campsite in a smaller loop up above the river, with trees, a nice fire ring and a flat surface to put up the tent! Camp hosts/managers were friendly but not too invasive into your business. You can walk down to the river easily, bring bikes for the kids, or reach the trailhead to the Mt McConnel hike without moving the car. The bathrooms were a little more odoriferous than others this season, but i think this area is more highly used due to the weather matching that of Ft Collins/Denver. First time all season i was hot at night! The sky was amazing at night, you are about 14 miles down the poudre river canyon so very little city lights to interrupt the view. First wood was only $ 5 a bundle — bonues! All in all a fun campground, not too much traffic coming in on a friday, but join the crowds head east come sunday morning.
