Just camped here this past weekend. This is a great option when all of the campgrounds closer to the river are full. We didn’t have a reservation and but there were still a few sites open around Saturday morning at 11AM. The campground is pretty big but the sites are spread out so you have a little bit of privacy. There are some sites with electricity for RVs and trailers. There is water available and a few vault toilets. The toilets, while clean inside, smelled worse than any campground bathroom I have ever visited(and I’ve visited quite a few, ha ha). So bad that I had to change after using it the morning we left because the smell was lingering on my clothes. There is also a lot of available dispersed camping on the road up to Jack’s Gulch. We saw many groups opting for that… and it’s free! Just no water and bathrooms, but you may be better off, considering the aroma of the vault toilets ;)

We just camped here for the first time(July weekend) and it is a very nice campground. It is set in a pine forest about six miles down a dirt road(63E) from Hwy 14 west of Fort Collins. The bathrooms(vault toilets) are kept very clean by the camp hosts and there is potable water available near each toilet during the summer months. The sites are all surrounded by trees and little meadows. It is supposedly a heavy bear area but we didn’t see any bears, only chipmunks and rabbits. You can buy firewood from the hosts, which we did after realizing we hadn’t brought enough. Our whole camp got flooded(including the fire pit) when a thunderstorm passed through and dumped a ton of rain on us. I really wanted to have a fire so I bailed out the water with my camp sink and was good to go. There is hiking in the area; a trail that goes around the perimeter of the campground and the Jacks Gulch trailhead which leads to several trails. The Little Beaver Creek Trail is about 14 miles out and back. The campground is first-come, first-serve only and we arrived late on a Friday night and there were five or six tent sites available. Overall, despite the rain it was a good experience and I would camp there again.
