Awesome food. All the meats came out delicious, juicy and hot out of the kitchen. My party also ordered a half chicken and fish dishes which they enjoyed. Typical sides(French fries, rice, vegetables, etc) came out tasty, fresh and authentic. Service was good and they seemed to anticipate your needs. I would definitely recommend when you have a craving for a good steak.

Went here for my boyfriend’s family birthday dinner and both the food and the service were great. To start off we got a pitcher of red wine sangria which was deliciousss! Then for dinner four out of the six of us decided to go with the Rodizio option with the unlimited meat and it definitely didn’t disappoint. They were constantly walking around with different options of meat and didn’t stop walking around until we said we were stuffed. For the two who didn’t get the Rodizio: one got the salmon, which was one of the biggest pieces of salmon I’ve ever seen, and the other for the Prime Rib which also looked great. Overall the place was great and I’ll definitely be back again!

Exactly what you would expect for $ 35 pp all you can eat steak. Very low quality, fatty, tough meat. We ended up with heaping plates of food that we found inedible. The bacon wrapped turkey was passable, but the bacon was crispy in parts and raw in others. Chicken legs were also edible, albeit fatty. There was one type of steak that was fine. All of the other meats were awful. Fries were soggy. Salad was a pile of iceberg and onions barely dressed. Some sides were decent — beans, kale, rice. Would not come back here. There are better AYCE options at this price point. 2.5 stars.

My last review for Carvalhos was in 2013 when I wrote, and I quote«So we won’t be back again. Never. Ever». Well looks like«Never Ever» arrived on 10 January 16 because I went back and had a great experience! This time I went with a party of 6 for dinner. They do not take reservations so my friends decided that 1800 on a Saturday night wouldn’t be a long wait. HA! Holy Moly. Where did all these people come from? Hordes of carnivores filled the restaurant when Mike and I arrived 40 minutes early and put our names on the waiting list. We sat at the bar and ordered the very popular sangria. It was excellent. The bartender was even more excellent. George and Joyce arrived 15 minutes later and also ordered sangria. By the time Janet and Richie got here at 1800, the bar was standing room only and the wait was 1.5 hours. We were seated at 1805. Everyone but Joyce ordered the Rodizio.(She selected the Branzino and asked that it be filleted which they happily obliged) The salad, the sides, and more sangria arrived at our table. Then came the meat– lots of meat. Some cuts were better than others but most of it was pretty darn good! The chicken, turkey, sausage and chateaubriand were fabulous! Everything was nicely seasoned and we never waited long for something new. We were stuffed! We wanted to try desert because our waiter said that most of the items were house made but there was no way we could eat another morsel of food. By the time we left the restaurant, the wait to get in spilled into the parking lot. Who knows when«never, ever» will return but this time it will be sooner than later!

thats it!!! I finally made it here with my friends, whom had been praising this place as one of his favorite place of all time for the last year to me. After hearing so much, I was really eager to try it for myself but at the same time felt so much praise, what if I’m let down… What looks like a diner from the outside, I KIDYOUNOT is truly one of the best food experience I’ve had in NY and would recommend to anyone and everyone!!! Apparently this place is packed 7 days a week and truly understandable as to why… The night begins with warm and delicious bread with olives on the side, which is followed by a house salad. The menu is amazing and being a Portuguese Meat Fiesta, one cannot go wrong with the Rodizio. I am no longer a big eater therefore I opted for what my friend had recommended for as long as I can remember, the Entrench Grelhado(Grilled Skirt Steak) with the house House Hot Oil on the side which I asked for medium well. Truly one of the most delicious, soft, and flavorful meat I’ve had in a while and once I brushed it with the Hot Red chili oil, omg, it was an experience to remember. Every bite made me a bigger fan of this place. My friends stuck to the all you can eat Rodizio which I lost count of how many rounds they opted for. The food portion sizes are plenty big for the price and the side dishes have plenty of options, such as house potato chips, french fries, rice, mashed potato, vegetables, etc. We finished the night with dessert and I can never refuse seeing Crème Brûlée on the menu, which too was great and the perfect way to end the night. I truly cannot wait to return here for the skirt steak with the house hot oil on the side!!!

My best friend decided to celebrate her 26th birthday here. She called a few days in advance to make a reservation and the manager Roy told her that they do not accept reservations, however if she calls the day of, he would definitely accommodate her. So we called the day of and apparently everyone had amnesia because he did not recall the call and was adamant that they do not take reservations and we would have to wait because it was first come first serve, and the wait could be as much as an hour for 7:30, Saturday night. The birthday girl was dying to try this restaurant so she decided to suck it up and go. The wait turn out not to be that bad like 30 mins. Now the food. Most of my table got the Rodizio which is supposed to be unlimited meats, and it’s about 40 bucks. Myself and a friend got the salmon. Now I seemed to get the short end of the stick because my friend got a big juicy piece of salmon, while I received some small oddly shaped bone in dry piece of salmon. When I complained the waiter said he’s really sorry but that’s the only piece he had left. As far as my friends who ordered the Rodizio, they were left hungry as they had to flag down the waiters to get meat. Normal Brazilian steakhouses leave you stuff, crying for them to stop. They were giving my friends slithers of meat at a time, enough to feed a 8 year old girl and made you wait up to 15 minutes in between slithers. God forbid you ask for two pieces at a time, you will be given the side eye as they reluctantly cut you off another slither. My best male friend who never ever complains anywhere we go(normally he sits in embarrassment as I complain) had to complain. Which spoke volumes to me. And mind you the slithers weren’t even that good Simply put, I know in Long Island, we don’t have that many options, but if you have a little more time, there is a Texas De Brazil in the city that is to DIEFOR. Similar pricing, way better food and service, and to top it off they speak English! Can’t beat being able to communicate with your waiter :)

The lamb chops ridiculously thin, the rodizio ‘meat’ is not good quality. Overall an abysmal waste of time and money. And I’m holding back…

On August 13, 2015 I went to the restaurant with a table of 14. We were a large group. We spilt a carafe of sangria which was so delish. I got the grilled chicken which was very moist. I love that chicken. The dinner started off with a nice salad with just the right amount of dressing and little bowls of olives. The basket of bread was okay, not too fresh. The chicken came with an assortment of sides. The best were the fresh chips, salsa, black beans and rice. The sautéed greens were hot and yummy. Most of my table got the Rodizio and really enjoyed it. It was like a carnivores dream. The service was spot on and the staff were friendly and quick I recommend this restaurant without reservations

I’ve been here a couple of times. To this date, i only get the Rodizio. Its so good i just don’t want to get anything else. The bacon wrapped turkey and any of the steaks are the things to get. Chicken is okay. Same with the sausages, and the ribs are really good. The serving staff is polite, and never stop asking if you want some food. They even ask what you would like them to bring out next. I normally would never think of dessert either, but so far everything i’ve had is top of the line too. Can’t go wrong with anything on their dessert menu. Go on weekdays, weekends are crowded.

I dined here with my meetup dining group on Thursday, 8⁄13. This place is a paradise for carnivores. The vast majority of our members, and those at others tables, ordered the Rodizio and I would probably not come here for any other option. The restaurant is noisy and crowded. As mentioned by others, the servers, though very pleasant and efficient, have accents and it is difficult to understand them with all the noise. The meat, however, was well seasoned(I like salt!) and quite good. Members commented favorably upon the skirt steak and bacon wrapped turkey. I, however, loved the ribeye. Rare and perfectly cooked. One of the issues with the rodizio concept is that you will not be able to get meats cooked to your standard of doneness(I hate well done) so you will not be happy with some of the selections that come to your table. One of the most pleasant surprises was the quality of the sides. Members loved the thin fried potato chips and collard greens. The broccoli and carrots were perfectly cooked al dente. The sangria was good, but not the best I have had on LI. Carvalhos is a «gorge – fest» that is worth returning to… but don’t tell your cardiologist!

OMG loved the food here my favorite was the bacon wrapped turkey. The veggies were delish and meats are well seasoned from the rodizio. It was $ 36 which was pricey but the food was so tasty. I will go back!

Wish I could do 2 ½ stars. Went here on a Saturday night. Arrived at 7:55. It was a 45 minute wait. We were seated by 8:40. The first thing I noticed is the notice level. It is loud here and the wait staff doesn’t speak loudly and has a heavy accent. Now it becomes even harder to understand them. The first things placed on the table are a bowl of olives, bread and lettuce with tomatoes and onions. There no option to order any type of appetizers. The rodizio may seem pricey at first glance but I think you will find it to be a fair price. The skirt steak was tasty but very salty. The sausages were fantastic. The sliced rib eye was good as were the ribs and short ribs. The turkey wrapped with bacon — yes please! However, the chicken was forgettable and the cube steaks were like rubber. Limoncello for dessert was a good choice. Not too heavy and gives you something sweet to finish off with. How was the service you ask? Well, not so great. They were hard to understand, not too attentive and seemed like they didn’t want to be there. Overall– Been there, done that. Two people, 1 sangria = $ 100. Between the wait and the service I don’t think I am interested in going back to hand over $ 100 and only be 2 ½ stars pleased.

YOUWANTMEAT! I’LLGIVEYOUMEEAAAATTT!!!(Sorry, I had to do it… lol). Let me start by saying the 5 star review is based on the Rodizio. It’s all I order when I come here. To me there’s no point ordering any other single meat dish off the menu when you can have it all. Lol! If you’re a carnivore then you’ll love this place. All you can eat meat for $ 35 is definitely worth every penny! Just order and wait to beg for mercy! Their meat is always seasoned just right and the service is on point. My favorite is the turkey wrapped in bacon. it’s always sooooo yummy. You get broccoli, carrots, rice, black beans, collard greens and boiled potato as your sides(No, it doesn’t cost extra) or you can just choose a specific one. Their sangria is pretty good as well. All in all if you’re going to visit this place, make sure you’re in the mood for a heavy, meaty meal. Enjoy!

I had another go at this place over the weekend and want to give you an update: — they are NOT consistent with the food. The meat is much better cooked and less dry than my previous visit. — the selections are slightly more than my prior visit and the servers do come around more frequently. — the service is still attentive. Sooo…why THREE stars? According to my fellow restaurant guru, again, this is just an opinion: they like to add a lot of salt so you will constantly buy their drinks. This practice is sneaky and a big no-no in my book.

Went here for my mom’s birthday celebration a few days ago. Everyone got the Rodizio special, when the waiters serve you meat. All the meat was tender, even though I asked for well done. The meat was cooked well, and the numerous sides were scrumptious. Their beans are really great, try them if you can! The staff came a round to sing happy birthday to my mom and she lived it. One of the waiters played the tune of «Happy Birthday» on the saxophone. Great place, great service!

My husband and I had a very fair-to-middling experience at this restaurant. We were eager to try a local restaurant while passing through the area, and we figured a Brazilian Rodizio was the way to go, especially based on the reviews and the relative fullness of the parking lot on a Friday night. There was a little bit of a wait, as to be expected; we waited about 30 minutes. We were seated at a table adjacent to an extremely large party of approximately 40 people, so that might explain why the service to our small party of two was lacking. The complimentary bread/butter plate and salad were nice surprises, although I’m glad we didn’t have to pay for the sad plate of wilted iceberg lettuce that was drowning in oil. From the menu, my husband opted for the«rodizio» option, as he was craving the unlimited meat option. I wasn’t in the mood for red meat, so I chose the grilled Bronzino(fish). It wasn’t clear at all on the menu whether you chose the sides or they bring you all of the sides, as the menu said to «choose two sides,» but our waiter seemed confused that I was trying to choose the sides. Anyway, they brought us everything — the fries were not very good, and the other sides were fairly forgettable. As far as the meat is concerned, we kept receiving the short end of the stick, so to speak. It seemed as though there was a lack of communication that our table had ordered the rodizio option, so the servers coming around with the skewered meats kept skipping over us, and my husband had to flag them down. What he ended up with, more often than not, were under– or over-cooked hunks of salty, tough, gristly meat. The sausage was about the only thing he cared for. As for me, the Bronzino turned out to be the ENTIRE fish: head, tail, bones, and all. Had this been justly described on the menu, I would not have chosen it. I was assuming(shame on me) that the grilled Bronzino would be filleted or at least de-boned. While the flavor of the fish itself was delicious, it was kind of embarrassing that I had to ask the waiter for help in de-boning the fish, and even then, I still had to pick it apart. While there are certainly people who like to do the work when eating their fish, I’m not one of those people. Normally, $ 80+ is a good deal for these sorts of all-you-care-to-eat meat-centered establishments, but for the lack of good service, unclear menu, and overwhelming I-just-licked-a-saltwheel-for-dinner takeaway, it was too much to pay.
