Found this place driving home one day. The food is great, tastes like home cooking! Their Green sauce is addicting and I put it on everything. Really enjoy the empanadas such a variety and made to order! I have not had one bad meal in the numerous times I have ordered.

This place is really something else. They are just so incredibly rude. They screw up a order, send it over spilled everywhere and don’t take any responsibility. So I go in to complain to the manager and realize how filthy this place really is. I’m just so over chicken road. Will never order again Thumbs down chicken road. Thumbs down

I was happy to find a Venezuelan restaurant near Merrick. We ordered the tortilla soup, a burrito and a couple of stuffed arepas(corn cakes). The food exceeded our expectations. The corn cakes were definitely authentic. I look forward to trying other options very soon. The cherry on top: they deliver for free to Merrick, Wantagh, Baldwin, Bellmore and everywhere in between. Incredible find!

Lovely experience. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of clean, casual and refined. The food delicious and comfortably priced. All our dishes were yummy(kids nuggets, rice, beans, plantains, ½ rotisserie chicken, arrepitas and chix sandwich) and service friendly… they were happy to grill and season a kaiser roll for my son who kept asking for«pansito». The dessert selection was great, spanning a variety of cultures(ie; flan, crème brûlée, tiramisu, rice pudding, etc). Added bonus, they roll 2 napkins around their utensils instead of just one!

I just tried this place for the first time and I’m really liking what I got. I got an order of the Pernil with rice and beans and sweet plantains. The flavor of the Pernil is really good. The sweet plantains are delicious. The rice and beans are nothing special at all. The green spicy sauce is awesome, but they are stingy with it! My only complaint is that the portion is way too small given the price and honestly I’m left hungry! Either way I’ll be back to check out some more stuff on their menu. 3 ½ stars is more accurate, but again the only negative is the portions.

The food was ok. We got the ½ chicken combo and the pernil combo. The sides were maduros, tostones, rice & beans and mac & cheese. The chicken was a little dry and the pernil did not taste like traditional pernil. The sides were not bad. We also had the beef and chicken empanadas which were good but pricey. The combos come with sodas and the total bill was $ 30.

The only reason I am even awarding one star is because of the house green sauce, otherwise this would be a ZERO. Where do I begin? We order off of grubhub and were told it will take 45 minutes for delivery. ANHOURAND A HALF later(with no courtesy call I might add!) our food arrives. After spending $ 60 on 4 items I was expecting a great quality meal. WRONG. I have never spent so much money on what was literally artificial food. It was nauseating. I could have went to Taco Bell and gotten a better meal for $ 10! Stay away! Far far away! Extremely disappointed in my experience. But I will say the delivery boy was incredibly polite. He needs to find better work where his great smile and attitude match the food!

So I’ve had a good experience here before I don’t know what happened in the past few months possibly new ownership maybe. The girl at the counter is a complete space cadet ready to launch into outer space. Not a crack of smile, nothing, very unfriendly. I ordered chicken quesadilla, easy. I guess not. You would think chicken quesadilla, grilled chx and cheese. First of all it took like 20 mins for such a simple dish. When I got the dish I thought it was pulled pork but it wasn’t it was chicken which they should specify cause not everyone likes pulled chicken which I obvi don’t. I mentioned when I placed the order I wanted guac w the quesadillas she said do u want chips too?. I said sure thinking they were complimentary. They gave me an order of guac and chips. Also I had planned on eating there when my food came out it was all bagged up. If she had asked me if the order was to stay or to go it wouldn’t have been a problem. Also another girl w a shaved head who worked there as well was in the front texting and touching and pulling her lips deep in thought in her messages. Listen I don’t know what ur position in this food establishment is, all I do know is that u are coming from the back to the front and you could be the one preparing my food. Keep ur hands out of ur mouth and off ur phone. The other girl too, the whole time I was waiting for my food was texting away completely unprofessional. I took a couple bites of my food and chucked it right infront of them. Before I did that I went up to the girl at the counter and said you need to specify pulled chicken, and I said there is no chicken on here, her response was cause it’s pulled chicken!!! She said we’ve never had an issue. So I say usually ques come w guac and sour cream, so when I ask for guac w quesadillas it’s to put on them not a whole appetizer I wanted! Dumbass. Also I had to ask for sour cream there was none in the bag. They could clearly see I was unhappy. I said I’m gna throw this whole in thing of guac away the girl w the shaved head was like take it w you, I explained I was on the way to the hair salon and not going to leave it in the car in 90 degree weather. The right thing would have been to offer a refund all I got was I let the manager know. Which is why they get this review. Never again will I go there.

This place is to die for. I sat down for lunch today and was given a complimentary chicken empanada. It was crispy and delicious, and was served with some phenomenal green sauce(a creamy salsa verde). My combo meal of choice was ¼ chicken– white meat– served with tostones and arepitas. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The tostones were crunchy with just the right amount of salt. The arepitas were crispy and just the right amount of cheesy. I don’t live in the area, but I will definitely be back next time I’m visiting my family.

Green sauce is good, platanos, chicken, arepitas all yummy, once in a while our chicken is a little dry but usually good flavor. We have ordered many tiimes and are usually happy, a little overpriced in my opinion for the portions.

This place has the best chicken and cheese empanadas I’ve ever had! I order delivery almost every week, and the delivery is also fast and the food is hot. They also make a great flan, so check it out! Chicken empanadas are around $ 3, and the cheese are a little bit more expensive, but they’re a definite must try, Avoid if you’re lactose intolerant, obviously. The restaurant itself is tiny, and you might miss it when you’re driving down Merrick Road. But the food is fantastic, and their rotisserie chicken is also great.

I’ve eaten here several times and I’ve always been happy with the food. It’s a pretty healthy meal. A nice piece of chicken(when you get the quarter chicken) and it comes with that delicious green sauce many Venezuelan restaurants offer. The veggies and corn are also very tasty sides to get you some different flavors. The chefs really seem to want offer you a great meal at a great price. This place would definitely be a good lunch or dinner place.

Dine or Ditch? Dine…Doused in guasacaca sauce. I’ve been to Chicken Road numerous times. My goto meal has always been the quarter chicken(white meat) with two sides. The chicken itself is pretty good. I wouldn’t say it’s anything to write home about, but it’s good enough to keep in my dinner rotation. All the sides I’ve had has also been pretty good. I’d recommend the menudos(yellow plantains), mac and cheese, corn, and veggies. I’ve had them all and I’ve really enjoyed it each time. From time to time I’ve tried a few other items including the empanadas and chocolate cake. Both were really good and nice add-ons to my meal. Overall, if I’m being honest, the food is more of a three out of five. Good, but nothing outstanding. The service really earned that fourth star. Once I went as they were closing(totally my fault for not looking up when they closed and assuming) and they literally stayed open a little longer to prepare my food(which was a life saver because my sister is quite picky and it would have been hard to go elsewhere) and they even threw in the aforementioned chocolate cake for free. They also serve you on real plates if you stay in to eat and prepare the food to go so that nothing will spill. I just think they always seem to care and that deserves to be rewarded both here and in my continued patronage.

Chicken’s Road, welcome back! Heard they had a mishap with a fire but now they’re back and in business! Which reminded me, I can’t believe I haven’t review this place yet. There aren’t many Latin American restaurants(that I know of anyway) on Long Island, so it’s great to have at least one close to home. The place itself is small, but there’s definitely enough ample seating if you want to eat-in. I’ve only had take-out(which seems to be the norm there) but the atmosphere is nice! Everything I’ve eaten here so far has been great. They specialize in rotisserie chicken but offer plenty of other food options as well. And their prices are excellent. My usual go-to meal is the ¼ chicken [breast + wing] which comes with two sides(there’s a lot to choose from) and a drink. All for under $ 10! The chicken has always been very tender and flavored nicely. As well as, they give you the«green sauce» which you can opt for spicy or mild. The spicy has QUITE the kick. As for the sides, I mean… everything was great. I love, love, love their Maduros and sometimes will just go there for those alone. But! They also have delicious mac and cheese, arepas and rice/black beans. Also, their Pernil(pulled pork) sandwich is great — I highly recommend it. For a casual joint, this place serves up some great LA food. The staff has always been incredibly kind and welcoming. Check this place out for sure.

The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because I had a horrible delivery experience. Let’s start with the food. I ordered the green burrito with pork and it was FABULOUS! The lentil and bacon soup was really good too. I ordered my food on grub hub at around 540. I was told the food was on it’s way at 640 and did not get my food until 740! It’s was still warm when it got here, but Luke warm. I did not get any utensils, hot sauce, etc and the delivery guy look embarassed and apologized. We definitely want to try eating at this place again, but this time we will either dine in or pick up. Really good food… just don’t get delivery

I wish I could say this is Venezuelan, its not. I saw the place driving by one day and when I looked up the reviews lost my Shisnit when it said it was Venezuelan. Let me clarify I AM Venezuelan, so when I dont have to haul into the city for it or make it myself I am happy. I kept the menu to order from at some point. My hub ordered takeout one day and got the rotisserie chicken with tostones rice and beans to share. The order came small and the beans were bland. It wasn’t bad I was just let down. I have yet to try other items from the menu since it does get some good reviews but I am now really dying for a Caracas Arepas to open up by me. I have it three stars solely on the order we got.

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to Chicken’s Road. Ha Ha Ha. Jokes aside, this Venezuelan«restaurant» was just okay. I had the ¼ chicken platter(breast and wing) with fries and corn. The portion was decent, but nothing that can’t be easily recreated at home. Most of the meals were around $ 10 bucks(a protein + choice of 2 sides). The décor is definitely lacking. There is seating but I’d highly recommend takeout. I got a tres leches cake to go which was pretty delicious.
