This place is a magic place where people make magic happen. I would go crazy with a lawn with some bugs in it, but since that’s currently a no-go I’m gonna say this place is a great alternative. My owner recently had a number of things go wrong with a Nikon. It fell from up high and a new lens was purchased on the internet. Then new batteries. Then it jammed up badly and my owner was told elsewhere that the lens was stuck and the camera probably not worth fixing. I said enough, looked up Quicksilver on Unilocal. These guys tested the batteries right away right in front of us on their LED meter, almost dead. The meter was mesmerizing and commanded my complete attention. They popped the lens off pretty easily and a small loose screw had been lodged in the body of the camera– possibly from the old lense when it got knocked on the ground. Thanks guys. My camera seems to work now, and you explained that the light meter would still function even if the battery wasn’t powering the display. This makes my coat healthier, I swear to god. Other places sell batteries for sooo much sometimes, and you had them for what, cost? Why isn’t everywhere this cool?

As good as it gets north of Seattle in the USA.

I wouldn’t recommend their repair service. It took them 4WEEKS to tell me that they couldn’t even get me an estimate and gave me a referral in Portland, OR with the wrong phone number. I could have figure that out on my own in less than an hour! Other than repairs, they have good quality equipment, but I’m under the impression that repairs aren’t in house so be prepared for a long long wait and maybe a you’ll get a fix.

Simply put, Quicksilver Photo Lab is a treasure. Their expertise is impeccable. Their service is fantastic. Their prices are super reasonable. In a world that has favored the know-nothing, no-service of big impersonal companies, they are a monument to a business model based on exceeding expectations and taking care of their customers. It’s no wonder that as we have seen photo businesses disappear left and right, Quicksilver remains. And they’re some of the nicest folks you’ll ever do business with. As a professional photographer, I depend on them on a regular basis — and they never, ever let me down.

I’m not much of a photographer, but when I needed to get an old portrait of my mother scanned, retouched, and reprinted, I went here. These guys are great, do quality work, are fast, and not too expensive. I also went here to have some Holiday Greeting Cards printed up. They gave me a really good deal, cheaper than RiteAid or most online places. Plus, I like supporting local businesses, so this is where I go for all my photo needs.

This is pretty much the only place in Bellingham to get expert advice regarding all things photographic. If you need something relating to film and can’t wait for it to come in the mail. Quicksilver can hook you up. If you need something scanned or printed from film and want to do it locally, this is your place. Need your camera repaired? These guys can hook you up. They have a few select digital cameras for sale and some used gear I think on consignment, but not a lot. Basically nice friendly knowledgeable place with all the essentials stocked.

As a photography student this is the primary source in the ‘Ham to get your supplies. They develop film and carry lots of lenses and other supplies for manual cameras. They also are up to date on digital supplies and they are very very helpful. I enjoy the small town aspect of quicksilver and that it seems really mysterious since it is located underneath Kulshan Cycles on the side of Chestnut Street.
