This place is probably the classiest place in town but I feel very left out because everybody’s drinking alcohol and I have a condition that prevents me(not gonna go into that LOL) I went to the bartender and said(to him) «hey do you have any nonalcoholic stuff(juice, sparkling Italian soda etc) «and all you could give me was water well buddy you think I want that? why do you think I want no flavors here I am didn’t liking the alcohol but to say that I can’t deal with this any sort of flavor ?? so anyway I like the atmosphere I’m in a get this playce for the five stars

We happened to be in town visiting friends, so we stopped by to hear a local Irish band play(Gallowglass) and enjoy some absolutely exquisite mead. You have to try the barrel-aged reserve mead — it is seriously tasty. I wish I had a place like this in Seattle! A tip: if you’re coming to listen to a band, get there at least half an hour early if you want a table. The place is tiny, and it filled up quick while we were there!

First of all, I created a Unilocal account to review this awesome bar. Was just in here earlier tonight(wednesday) for open mic night, it was incredibly sweet. The atmosphere homey, inspiring and uplifting. The multiple musicians and poets were just amazing. Beyond that was the bartender. I believe his name was Alex and he was just fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable and tactful, Alex delivered incredible drinks with a smile on his face. The crowd was demanding and he handled it with ease.

YUM! My husband and I got to go on a date night last Friday, and I had seen this mead featured in Sunset Magazine, so I thought it would be fun to do a tasting. We did the 12 — 1oz sampler for our first round, so that we knew what to get a tall glass of. The brewer was on site, so hearing his recommendations was nice. Once we had picked our favorites, we each ordered a glass and settled in. The ambiance is nice, clean bathrooms, pretty bar. there is a small retail area where you can get swag and bottles. What we DIDN’T know(and should have read Unilocal before hand to find out!) is that there are live shows on Friday nights. In the span of about 10 minutes, the tiny space went from empty to standing room only. My husband does not like crowds, and I’m not particularly fond either, so we tried to high tail it out of there. The only problem is, we had a tab we needed to close. I had to wait in line behind 20 people to close it, while the bartender(and brewer) worked his tail off to serve food, drinks, and a smile to everyone! That man was doing a GREAT job, but it was quite overwhelming. We left before the music started, because it was honestly too crowded for me. Now that we know to avoid Friday nights(for us, everyone else was having a great time!) we will be back on a week night or a night without music! So yummy, and the service was awesome.

What’s not to love about this place? Cozy, great atmosphere and the mead is so, so good! And… they have dessert. Just go. You won’t regret it!

Delicious mead varieties and creative mixed mead cocktails. Relaxed atmosphere and most interesting bar tender ever. Never had mead before? Seriously stop in for a sample.

I came here to see a band that plays monthly on Friday nights and it was both a good show and a good introduction to mead. The crowd was big and lively, leaving standing-room-only; the stage is in the back and the bar is along one side. I hadn’t had mead before and the bartender gave me a few samples. They serve only mead, cider and wine, and I believe they brew the mead and cider on-site. The honeymoon experience was great and I highly recommend it for meeting a friend who likes to sip non-beer beverages, or seeing good music inside or out back on their patio. Their downtown location makes it easy to take a nice walk after you leave; enjoy the downtown area while the weather is nice! Bonus: They have open mic night on wednesday.

What a cool, unique place! The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and the mead is outstanding. They have many different flavors, so there’s something for everyone and the people working there are super nice and informative about the process and flavors. This is a great place to come for«dessert» and a good time in the form of delicious mead!

Still one of my favorite spots in town. Not only is it super adorable, but still delicious as ever. They’re starting to carry beer, now, so my husband will come with! Stinks that the partial view is now all condos, but I’m still happy to sit on their deck any day with a glass of mead, brie and roast garlic, and my favorite bartender SAM! Just such a great atmosphere.

I run by their outdoor patio all the time on my to the interurban from my work, always staring longingly at the happy people enjoying the sunshine with large glasses of mead in varying hues… Two weekends ago I FINALLY was able to come in and see what I’d been missing. A lot. On the bartenders rec, me and my happy-hour partner each got the rhubarb mead. It was delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness, hint of rhubarb, and a mouthfeel that made the whole experience seem much more decadent than just a glass of wine. The patio was the perfect place to be on that sunny late-afternoon, and it was happy-hour so $ 1 off each(already reasonably priced) glass. I can’t speak to any of their other menu items, but I’m officially a fan of their mead. I have been craving it so much that I just went to the Market on Lakeway where they have a few different bottles, and bought two. They also have it at one of my favorite restaurants in town(Bayou) so that right there is an endorsement.

I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Honeymoon Mead. I’m not a big drinker, but occasionally I enjoy a good cider, and this is the place to go in Bellingham for that. Their rhubarb cider was delicious without being too sweet. I really liked the atmosphere there; it was classy without being pretentious. A lovely experience.

I really liked their mead cider. I also tried their Lovers mead and several of their other fruit wines. The Lovers was good but it’s not something I could indulge in. It was sweet and one glass was enough. They also offer live music on several days and have a great space for listening. One qualm is that it was a bit hard to find on my first visit. The entrance is on the back via the alley.

Great cozy mead & wine bar, makes me wish I lived here. I recommend the orange mead and the strawberry wine, in particular. The blueberry mead wasn’t bad either. I did not care for the raspberry mead, however. The tasters are a super value, generous pours. The cheese and meat plates were delicious and totally filling as a meal. I would definitely visit again if I were in the area.

This is a hidden gem! I only lived in Bellingham for a summer and honeymoon was a frequent stop for me. The mead(raspberry is my favorite) paired with their delicious desserts never failed! It’s also nestled into a cute area of the town. Take some friends and enjoy!

This is a great little mead-bar tucked away down a little alley off E. Maple St. They serve mead, coffee, appetizers(cheese/fruit plate!) and often have really good live music. It’s small, so when it’s busy don’t expect to get a table anywhere, but the crowds are fun and it’s not a bother to stand when the music is that good! Definitely one of Bellingham’s better music venues for the vibe. Really great spot for a first date, or a 1,000th date. You can also purchase bottles of their Mead at the Co-Op.

Great ambience — cozy in winter and patio in summer! Totally original. Nothing like it. Great if you need a change from beer and other typical bar scenes. Eclectic group of people from young to old. Love the live music nights especially.

There are several things that I miss about Bellingham and this is one of them. Honeymoon mead is amazing and I just can’t find any mead or any place like this around here. If you’re not looking for it you may walk right by and miss it! It’s located on State Street technically — or on the back of the building on State street down an alley and directly behind the Farmer’s market depot, to be more accurate. It’s a charming and cozy little place. I came here once when there was live music and it felt very intimate, but it’s just as charming on any other night. A great spot for a low-key get together with 3 – 4 friends or for a date. I haven’t had a chance to try the food but the mead is So. Freaking. Good. I grabbed a bottle of the Ruby last time I was up there and it was everything I expected from them and more. I haven’t felt anything but love for all of the meads I’ve tasted here. You have to try some. Trust me.

Here’s the deal with this place: If you hate dry wine and love sweet, fruity type wines, you’ll definitely dig this place. Perhaps it’s unfair that I only give this place 2 stars since it’s more of a reflection of my taste in wines to the actual goodness of Honeymoon Mead. With it’s brick walls and quaint atmosphere, it’s a nice place to meet people and as long as there’s no band playing, it’s a great place to have a conversation. There’s quite a selection of wine accompanying foods as well as a good selection of wines… as long as you like sweet wines of course. I should add that they do have a couple traditional whites and reds to pick from so I wasn’t completely unsatisfied. Honeymoon Mead is indeed a nice wine bar… just not for me.
