Went to get dessert to go. They charged us too much money and didn’t notice. Fixed it for us once we said something though. Pretty disappointed because they didn’t have the dessert I wanted and the dessert we got was not at all what was described on the menu. The baked cookie was a cold dry oatmeal cookie. All of our desserts said they came with ice cream and none did. Not sure why I paid 7 dollars for that.

Great for happy hour. Good selection of bites and good selection of drinks. The wine was still $ 6 a glass which is a bit steep but the well drinks and beers were pretty reasonable.

This is a decent place that I don’t mind going to, especially for happy hour. However ever since they came to Bellingham, the quality has gone down over the last couple years. Service is always good but the prices have increased and the quality and portion size of the food has gone down. Instead of the fries being crispy, they’re all soggy and soft. Besides that, I enjoy going here for happy hour. You can get a burger and bottomless fries for $ 9 and then some drinks and appetizers for $ 6 or less. I wouldn’t mind coming here for dinner but if I’m in the mood for good food, I would go somewhere else.

NYP has always been my go to place, because even though the service was always minimal the food was great, but lately it’s been slipping. The menu is old and worn, with the same weekly specials every week. I’m a person who loves ordering the same favorites so when I say the menu is dead, it’s true. To increase loyalty, they have instituted a loyalty program, but I find myself going less. Before the highlight was always the food, but it’s slowly deteriorated. When I order Pulled Pork Nachos and only get two pieces of pork and a ton of chips without toppings for $ 13, that’s a major disappointment. I have a card for a free appetizer and even that isn’t a big incentive to go back. On my most recent visit though, I have to say there was a new bartender who had really incredible service. She was the only server in the bar area and spread thin, but she really went above and beyond to deliver a memorable experience. I wish I could remember her name, because her service is my reason to go back.

Went in for happy hour on a weekday, so wasn’t too busy when I arrived, but by the time we left it was hopping! Our bartender, Jesse, went above and beyond to bring beer samples and extra sauces for our wings. The wings themselves were great, and I was impressed by the portions. Also ordered poutine, and it came out so hot I had to wait a minute to eat! Never a bad thing! Very impressed by the amount of sauces. Two items off the happy hour menu and my husband and I were more than satified. Def will be back.

Last time I came here I wasn’t inpressed, but figured we would try it again. Amazing! Their $ 5 dollar bottomless fries and so many sauces sauces didn’t even know where to start. Their wings are delicious and they have poutine! Our service from Jesse was better than the food. Definitely putting this back on the Bham happy hour list.

First time at a New York Pizza… really good Happy Hour with a great price selection for drinks and food! They offer early happy hour and late night as well… good choice!

A few months ago I would have rated this restaurant at least three stars. Once the kitchen staff quit, the food went downhill quickly. The consistency is poor, the food quality has lessened and prices keep going up. Not worth it. We have enjoyed Blake and Huy in the bar. Very competent, friendly and responsive. When the food went down, there was no problem in returning it and asking for something else(which we did not have to do prior to the change in cooks). When we have been there on Wednesday(3:00 — 4:00 p.m.), the bartender does not seem to care about the customer and does not check if the food is to our liking. The reason we are giving up this restaurant(in addition to the above) is the management of this restaurant. Until a couple of months ago, the apparent manager(s) in the bar area were friendly and helpful. Then a new manager came onboard — gruff looking — never smiles and does not seem to respect the staff(which, in my book, is unforgivable) and does not even acknowledge customers.

I have a soft spot in my heart for New York Pizza. I’ve lived in the area and been eating here regularly for four years now. In the last six months though NYP has taken a serious turn for the worst. What the heck happened? Generally speaking, the prices have gone up and the portions have shrank. I can deal with that. It’s still good food and the happy hour is still pretty reasonable. However, I haven’t had a good experience at NYP in months, and I’ve been in probably 8+ times recently. Their service has been so bad lately that I’m frustrated to be paying full price for my food. On my latest visit we there were multiple errors in our drink orders, multiple errors in our food orders, and enough errors in our checks that we eventually just paid and settled the mistakes amongst ourselves. Our food took 40 minutes to arrive, even appetizers. Our ‘bottomless’ fries got refilled once in the two hours we were there despite us asking on multiple occasions for refills. Our server was entirely unapologetic towards any of the mistakes she made or frustrations we had, and she had at most 3 other tables to tend to. This was 3:00 on a weekday. If this was just some random restaurant, I’d cross it off my list and never come back. Unfortunately I keep returning in hopes that something will have changed. I don’t think I can do that anymore.
If you’re not convinced already to pick a different place for lunch or dinner, at least do yourself a favor and sit at the bar. The bar tenders seem to be the last ones at NYP that know what they’re doing anymore.

Ordered a pizza on line. A 14″ with mushroom, onion and green pepper. I asked to pay over the phone was told I could just pay when I got there. When I arrived I was charged $ 35 for a pizza that tasted like domino’s before they made their«improvements». Under cooked, veggies were uncooked, like they forgot to add them and tossed a pile on last second. I have eaten in the restaurant a few times, and was not this disappointed, breakfast was OK. But probably the second worst pizza in Bellingham. I willingly admit to being a pizza snob, but this place is off my list of places to eat. I had to ask for an itemized receipt when I was charged, because I figures there was a mistake. The manager was nice, and printed it for me.

What happened? My wife and I had been going to NYP for years. From about 2012 — 2014 it was stellar. Amazing food, great prices, friendly staff, etc. 5 out of 5. Then something happened. New owners perhaps? I don’t know. After the last time we went there, it was our last. Forever. Here’s why: 1. prices have skyrocketed. I understand the price of milk, bread, meat, etc., has gone up but $ 22 for a 14 inch pizza when it was $ 16 the year before? really? 2. portion sizes have shrunk. 3. amount of cheese/toppings has diminished to near nothing. Their«cheesy» bread is a lie. there is no cheese. just burnt bread. The only thing that wasn’t terrible was the staff. They are always pleasant but there’s a lot of them. I counted and there were 8 servers for 12 tables. I’m not in the restaurant business but that seems like a very high ratio. I think there’s been a change of ownership or upper management and it’s RUINED the place. This is a real shame because it was soooo good before. And I don’t think it’s just my wife and I. The place was dead, relatively speaking. Friday night, 7pm and a 25% capacity? Clearly, someone came in within the past 2 years and thought it would be a great idea to jack up prices and reduce the amount and quality of the food. Well, how’s that change treating your bottom line guys?

NYP has been flashing delicious looking pictures of Eggs Benedict in my Facebook feed for several weeks. I finally succumbed to my desire to devour this brunch item served before 2:00 pm daily. The establishment is divided into a bar area with televised sports and a quiet dining area with booths and tables. You can get food and drinks in both areas. You just need to decide what atmosphere you’re jonesing for. NYP has several Eggs Benedict options on their menu. I love that the veggie option also comes with avocado which is not common in Bellingham. Unfortunately, the English muffin was a mass-produced, let-down and the poached eggs were much firmer(cooked too long) than they should have been. On the flip side, hats off to NYP for offering a choice of fruit instead of hashbrowns. That was a delightful change. NYP is located just before the roundabout on State Street. Stay in the left hand lane so you can turn into their free private parking lot. Or keep going because there are so many more tasty dining options in B’Ham. The food here is acceptable, especially if you are looking for a more run-of-the-mill, midwestern palate.

NYP has always been good to me. I think I’ve been lucky enough to always come in during happy hour, and their happy hour IS pretty bomb — great specials on both drinks and food. I personally am a huge fan of their Blueberry Lemon Drop, which is brought out to you in a small shaker so that you can continue to refill your glass as you drink it. The Hawaiian pizza is another one of my favorite things to order, and if you get a small app in addition, it’s plenty of food for two people to comfortably enjoy dinner. The only thing I’ve tried and not particularly liked was the nachos. Maybe it’s because I hail from the land of Tex-Mex, but I just found these to be kind of… blah. I will say the red peppers that were tossed in were really good, but it was mostly just a huge pile of what tasted like store-bought tortilla chips. Not bad, but I won’t order it again I don’t think. Another notable thing — this place is huge to me. It’s basically two large rooms — one with the bar, and one without the bar but an equal amount of televisions. I can see this place doing very well during football season; you can pretty much see a TV no matter where you sit, and there’s enough space that you probably won’t have to worry about finding a table(I’ve never had to wait to be seated). There’s nothing I’ve eaten here that I would consider«exceptional», but the deals are good and the food itself is decent, so I’ll probably keep coming back.

Mac n Cheese… meh. Ceasar salad… meh… Salty soupy box mac with chewy salty pork and soggy bacon. Ceaser carries the same theme. Sub par food. Service is average. Beer is slightly above average. I do come for the convenience of price and location. What the hay… ryte?

Me and my husband have been here about a dozen times and the majority of them have been for brunch on Sundays. We come here on Sundays because Blake the bartender works on Sundays. Been here a few times on Saturday and that bartender just isn’t quite all that on top of it. Steaks and eggs. Cannot. Go. Wrong. Yeah… it’s a pretty small serving of steak(I think it’s 6 oz) but seriously, America needs to stop gorging on quantity and focus more on quality. I don’t know what NYP does to it but the taste is wonderful(and already sliced in perfect portion pieces)! Buttery well seasoned pieces of delicious beef! I loved their all-you-can-drink mimosas. I used the past tense word because apparently, it’s illegal to serve AYCD alcohol beverages in the state of WA? I don’t know, that’s what we were told last time. So now, there’s a limit of 5 drinks… pretty lame, huh? Oh well, NYP got away with it for the past 2 – 3 years so that was definitely nice while it lasted!

NYP is a decent place to eat, watch the game and hang out with others. The prices though are out of line for the venue and quality– $ 20 for a lemonade and cheeseburger sliders(3 small ones) is just to much. The strawberry lemonade includes only one refill at the cost of $ 4.50. The glass is filled to the top with ice before the lemonade is added at that. The cheeseburger sliders do come with fries and the toppings and burger are without a doubt high quality ingredients– but the overall price is not worth it. As others have said the only time you should ever visit is happy hour or with a coupon. Was a decent dining experience but not one I would make an effort to return to.

Met a friend up here for lunch and drinks. The décor can only be described as what some corporate guy thinks is sports/hipster. Ordered drinks and pork belly nachos. Drinks came quickly, and correct. Knob Creek, coke no ice with a lime. Can’t tell you how many places mess that up. So kudos! Nachos came out right after and were very bland. No flair, no flavor. Since they were awful we got a pizza. Pepperoni on one half, combo on the other. Pizza also lacked flavor. No spice to the pepperoni, veggies on the combo were lacking. The staff was very nice and the place was clean so 3 stars.

A few months ago, I visited the new Burlington location while one of my tires was being repaired nearby. I read other Unilocal reviews claiming that the food here was not up to par with the Bellingham location. So on a week night, my friends and I ventured out to this New York Pizza. The location is kind of strange. It’s not quite Fairhaven but it’s on the edge of downtown. We were seated promptly at an outside table since it was a warm summer night. Upon looking at the menu, I immediately remembered how expensive everything is. A sandwich with fries is $ 15… The good news is that they have a great variety and I would be surprised if someone struggled to find something that sounded tasty. The burger was one of the cheaper things on the menu so I opted for that. To be honest, it was nothing special. The ingredients were fresh and high quality but the taste and cook on the burger weren’t amazing. The fries were seasoned really well and I love that they’re bottomless. But all in all, I wasn’t really impressed with the meal. It wasn’t bad, I would just look for something more exciting and unique next time I am craving a burger. I would love to come back and try the pizza however!

The star status has changed since our last visit. The music was better and turned down. The bar always looks good. And the food this time, clam chowder, Caesar salad, the hottest damned chicken wings I ever had, and the fries with dipping sauce was great. The food wasn’t really the problem our previous visit, it was the service. That has changed quite dramatically! I watched the servers as they scurried around helping the patrons as fast as they could with a personal touch, they appeared to really care how you felt and your opinion. One person that we watched very closely was Haley B. When we were seated up walked this bubbly personality with a smiled greeting. Taking my wife’s drink order first then mine. Wife had some questions about some items and Haley stood right beside her and actively listened. Then came my turn, one thing that I noticed was that Haley looked into your eyes, carefully listened, and seemed to actually care. She was extremely helpful, my wife’s wings were a little to spicy for her so Haley offered up a solution. Hayley’s service was extraordinary therefor bumping the establishment up from a 2 to a 4 star. Good job Haley and keep up the great work!!! Because of you we will be back!

I’ve seen the bartender, Scott post messages about the awesome Steak and Fries Wednesday Special. It was an 867 mile trip… and didn’t disappoint! Scott is an awesome bartender and provided excellent service. Treats his guests like friends! The steak was topped with a Bacon Jam… nice touch! Highly recommend this place… especially for those of you that live a lot closer than me! Thanks for a great lunch!
