I lived here for almost 2 years and really liked it actually. As my time wore down there, and the onsite manager left(but retained management duties from offsite) I think the place headed downhill, but definitely stayed way better than most places. Noise from 148th is pretty bad, especially in the summer, but I ran with it and it didn’t really bother me. The sirens get really irritating, but what can you do? My one big gripe is the moving out phase. The apartment manager does a walk through and gives you a thumbs up or down, but then the owners do a secondary secret walkthrough where they miraculously find things that the manager didn’t, and then proceed to charge you labor to remedy those things. Luckily for me, it only cost me about $ 50, but others haven’t fared so well. So be cautious, take photos before you move in and right before you return your keys, insist on doing the walkthrough with the owners if they insist on having one. I would gladly recommend the Firs to a friend.
