I don’t agree with the negative reviews.
I am new to the area and was not too sure about this place, especially with all of the negative reviews. But the place works great for me. I thought the office staff was knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Maintenance personnel responded to issues in a timely manner.
The apartments are affordable clean and well maintained.

I LOVED living at Edgewood Park, don’t let the negative reviews deter you! The location is amazing, the apartments are newly updated and they are pet friendly. Is it expensive to live in the middle of Bellevue? DUH! But is it worth it? YES! If someone thinks this is expensive, they clearly haven’t looked at prices anywhere on the Eastside or Seattle for that matter. If you want a safe, well cared for home with awesome office staff then this may be the place for you.

My husband and I moved here about four months ago. Despite seeing some of the negative reviews here, after touring about 15 apartment complexes in Kirkland, Bellevue, and Renton, this place was definitely our favorite. It was a quick and easy leasing process with Julia, and we now have an upgraded 2bed/​2ba apartment with about 1000sqft and a great layout. Everything was pretty and functional when we moved in, and any maintenance issues we’ve had since then were solved within a day or two by the staff (the two main maintenance guys, Nino and Tariq are awesome and always helpful for advice, updates, and quick fixes). We plan to stay here a long while — we love our apartment, the complex is well cared for, the neighbors are very nice, and the location is super convenient (especially the 24-​hr QFC across the street plus quick access to parks, shopping, 90 and 405). I would say that it was definitely more pricey than other complexes we looked at, and that complexes owned by larger companies did have more organized processes, but it was definitely worth it for us. We love it here and have no complaints!

We searched for the perfect apartment for our daughter who was attending Bellevue College. We were lured into this apartment with false information regarding expenses and fake attentiveness by management. I spent 5 hours trying to clean black mold from the bathroom before she moved in and, when bringing our concern to the manager, was told that it was not black mold. After a month of persistence, we finally convinced them to do a test. They came into the apartment with an aggressive, defensive attitude until their «machine» started going crazy, indicating the presence of black mold before they even got to the bathroom. Also, we were lied to about the utility expenses, being told that they ranged from $ 40-​$ 50 per month. Our first bill for this 450 square foot apartment was more than the amount we pay for our 3800 square foot home. This seemed like a valid concern to talk to management about, yet they became confrontational and extremely rude. I was the signer on the LEASE AGREEMENT, however they refused to talk to me, insisting that my daughter be the one to handle things. We continued to pay our rent and other expenses on time EVERY MONTH, never called for maintenance (yet shared a maintenance charge every time someone else in the apartment called for help), yet were treated with disrespect and extreme rudeness. They even went as far as telling my daughter that they don’t like us (her parents). When my daughter traded in her car, we attempted to pull off the parking sticker, yet it tore into pieces. Despite having to pay for her parking spot each month, management charged us another $ 10 for a new sticker! I would definitely have paid even $ 2 for this 10 cent item, but $ 10? Besides, if they are charging that much, then their stickers should peel easily. PLEASE take this advice to heart — they will grab your attention with what you think will be fantastic care and reasonable expenses, but you will quickly find yourself regretting your decision! Needless to say, we moved our daughter out of that building when our lease lapsed and she is paying less money for a beautiful apartment with exceptional staff! KEEP LOOKING!!!

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. This was my very first apartment and it was the worst experience. Please do yourself a favor and read:
Let me start out by saying this– when you move into an apartment that has black mold all over the bathroom, you would expect it to be fixed, right? Not here. Both the manager and maintenance people denied that there was ANY mold and it was just «discoloration» and refused to fix it (including under the sink where it was completely sunken in, so bad to where nothing would even stand up, because it «wasn’t bad enough to fix»). Finally they brought in their moisture/​mold detector about a month after we had been living there. They said it would start beeping if it was in fact mold. Sure enough, it started going off like crazy. They FINALLY decided to fix it.
When we moved in, we were told utilities would be between $ 40-​$ 60 a month. Our first utility bill came and it was $ 150. I go to them thinking there must have been a mistake. Their response, «our meters have actually been broken so this will be more around the monthly price». We got charged for everything that they decided to do to the building. While we were living there, they painted all the buildings, redid all the roofing, redid the gutters, and who knows what else. Well yes, they charged all their residents for that.
The manager is completely unprofessional. I got a call from him about a month before our lease was up asking if we were going to renew. I said «no». And he says «good, because every time I hear from you and your mom, we get the feeling you don’t like us, and frankly, we feel the same about you guys». Yes, you read that correctly. That came straight from the manager. Mind you, we were NEVER late on rent, NEVER got any complaints, etc. There was absolutely no reason for them to not like us.
Oh, and don’t let me forget that you must pay for parking, not even covered parking, just to park on the property. And our car was broken into twice.
Just do yourself a favor and keep looking.

Dont move here! Its ridiculously over priced, and cheaply made units. Utilities are crazy expensive as well (plus parking). Management sucks. They dont care about you. This complex only wants your money. Dont move in!

I moved to Edgewood park one month ago. At first, we got move-​in special. The paperwork was really easy and crew members clearly assisted us with that. Prices are reasonable and the location is just amazing because I’m a student at bellevue college and it usually takes 15 minutes walking to get there. Also, it is right cross the street to QFC. In general there are dedicated crew members, nice neighbors and easy walking distance to get everywhere

Welcome to edgewood park apartments where no one at the office can help you with anything and they have no idea what is going on. And btw we will double utilities after 6 months because our water meter has been broken since December. Even though you didn’t start renting from us til April «we» as a complex need to make up the difference we owe to city of bellevue for water. Also were going to be doing construction in and outside your apartment disrupting your «home» sanctuary and routine so you might feel slightly unsettled. This construction will take about a week, no make that 2 weeks. Sorry for the inconvenience make that 3 weeks without a dryer even though that is a reason you may choose us as a complex. We «REALLY» apologize for the inconvenience but it is not our policy to compensate you for the inconvenience our construction has caused you. Thank you for taking a peak at our clearly obvious poor housing units we hope that no one ever comes by to check us out!

So here’s the break down of utilities for this complex:
Water, sewage, trash/​recycling and service fee. As if they should charge for a service fee they don’t even tell you the entire amount due for your unit. They just give you a utility bill and you need to figure out the base rent plus pet rent plus parking fees and then divy up the utilities. O and yeah they don’t tell you when you sign up for a lease that there will be parking fees. So for the first 4 months of tenancy for just my roommate and I our grand total utility bill was roughly $ 70. These past few months the bill went from $ 70 to $ 126. In ONE MONTH. This month our total amount due for those three things is $ 153 (NEED I REMIND YOU THIS IS UTILITIES FOR TWO PEOPLE). I called them to ask them as to why the bill went up yet again and their response was that to tell me the breakdown of how they do the billing. I previously asked them how the utility billing works. It’s a total bill of the complex and they divide the cost up amongst the tenants. Depending on how many people are claimed to be living in your unit is the multiplyer of how much you will be charged. Basically you’re not charged on your individual usage. So the guy at the office told me there was an increase from last months bill to this months bill of $ 7000 and that’s why utilities went up this month. Please note at this time of year there is no pools being refilled nor is the grass being watered so it won’t dry out. So pardon me for saying this if the total tenancy hasn’t increased from last billing cycle to this one (confirmed per the employee I spoke with at the office roughly 93 – 97 total tenants on average) and I don’t believe people are taking longer showers or having larger bowel movements WHY THE HELL IS THE BILL INCREASED $ 7000 IN ONE MONTH?! Needless to say this employee has no response for me at this point.

We recently moved out and I wouldn’t move here again. I don’t generally do Unilocal reviews for better or worse but this place was a ball of frustration. When we moved in a year ago, the reviews had said management had just changed over. The reviews were bad, but we took a chance since it was new management. Well this new management was awful as well. Last December, this property was purchased by yet another property management. AMC. They overcharged us for utilities, doubling up and took them two months to fix it. The girls that work are just bad at their job. They love to leave notices at 5:55, then when we find it, they’re already gone. Not to mention we are usually home when they leave the notices. Once I went to pick up a package and the girl was walking out twenty minutes early stating she can’t do anything because the gm and am isn’t there… She did go back inside to give me my package, but closing early because your bosses are not there is unacceptable. I would rather the apartment leave us alone but they are constantly leaving notices to enter the apartment. Also for a month they were renovating all the apartments but basically tracked dirt and dust in our apartment. We took a chance because the place is conveniently located and «ok enough» but management is awful. You have no guarantee that these incompetent girls are going to charge the right amount. They can’t even get their forms properly signed and sent several emails saying some forms weren’t signed, but maybe because they didn’t send it! They’ll tell you one thing, but turn around and do another. Don’t move in! Don’t be us and think «oh, it’s ok enough» my first apartment before I moved to bellevue was amazing! I loved the size, the people, the amenities. This place made me hate living in apartments!
On a side note, the townhouse apartment itself was ok. We had awful washer dryer that wouldn’t dry, but they did change it while we were moving out. Only took them a year since we complained about it when we moved in. They are awful at following up and prefer the avoidance technique. Still trying to communicate with them and they haven’t responded. I’m close to reporting them to the main company and governmental agencies.

I was trying to get a apartment in the bellevue area because it was close by Bellevue Collage. This was my first pick since it was across the street from QFC and i was already in the area and saw the pretty landscaping. The management was unprofessional and rude, the prices jumped up from 1200 to 1550 in just a month of me stopping by. Inside the apartments, they were small, much smaller than where i was living at and i could see problems that were a concern like light fixtures, wall plugs and the sink not working right. But my biggest concern is how frustrating my visits were. The management mixed up my time. They left for lunch when they said they would be in their office to show me around. i had to wait 45 minutes for someone to drive up and open the office doors. They never showed me one of the units that i was scheduled to see and when i went in a 2^nd time to see it (because they said they were finally ready to show me), the assistant manager yelled at me because she thought i had already seen the unit. I thought she was going to bite my head off. After seeing the inside of that unit, i was impressed. The inside was much different and looked better than the others. It was what they called a Town Home. I asked for the price, they told me 1700. I think i died a little. I believe they said it was around 860 sq ft. Im in a 1000 sq ft for much cheaper. But i really wanted to live closer to BC. So i sent in my application which they reviewed and approved. I then showed up with my deposit so they could hold the apartment i was getting, ONLY TO FIND OUT THEY MADE A MISTAKE! Can you see a pattern? Mistake after Mistake after Mistake. Well, turns out the unit was already taken. The assistant manager did not tell her leasing manager that the unit was taken and so i put money down for a unit that wasn’t even available. Did i get my money back? Yes. But i soon had enough after that last visit. I was trying to get the problem solved when 4 guys in suits showed up, talked with the manager and mentioned them trying to increase the rent to make a profit. They had no care in the world with their loud mouths that i was in the room, trying to talk to the leasing manager and them talking over me. i wanted to get up and leave. They were all rude. I was suppose to get a call from the leasing manager about when the next available unit would be ready but she never called me or emailed me back. They took my application money and just left me there with no answers.
Honestly, i don’t want to live there, ever. Its not worth the stress. If i could, ⁰⁄₅ stars would be given. And after all of this happened, i went on Google+, Apartment ratings and of course this Unilocal page. And i read horrible reviews with similar problems. So i recommend staying away from this place. Its not worth it.

I live in this apartment building. It’s very expensive. I have to pay $ 1533.50/month, and extra pay water. I always pay on time, but when something are broken, they fixed late. The day before yesterday, the sink in kitchen was broken. I told them but They have not fixed yet for me now. I am not happy. May be I will move out to other apartment.

The one thing I didn’t know before moving here– there is absolutely no phone reception. I have at&t and I have one bar max, mist of the time none at all. I have medical issues and can not always get a hold of my doctor. Also I had a bees nest on my back deck. My boyfriend is deathly allergic and told them it needed to get taken care of ASAP. Took about a month to get pest control over. A month later, the bees moved back in. Told them about it and after three reminders, it Stoll never got taken care of. Our hot water went out. The maitnence guys said we needed a new heating element, but it had to né ordered. We went three days without hot water before it got fixed. The grounds are well maintained, and office staff has been friendly. One time they double charged us for rent and we had to wait a week for them to mail us a $ 1200 check! This caused all our other bills to bounce. My last gripe is, I have a lot of medical supplies for kidney dialysis. I was keeping some boxes on my back deck and was told we were not allowed to store boxes on our deck. We got a three day notice to move boxes or get kicked out. That’s bs. So my recommendation is pay a bit more and go somewhere else. Not worth the price.

My husband and I lived at Edgewood Park for two years. It was okay. They generally kept the premises maintained, but often did a pretty minimal job with things and fixed them on the cheap so they often broke quickly.
For example, we had a sink that leaked in our bathroom, we reported it and someone came out and said that the basin was cracked. He told us he did not have the part, as the basin would need to be replaced, and would order it. A week or two later, he came back to fix it, and left us a note saying that he had looked at it again and that really, the basin just needed to be patched. So he patched it and moved on. About a week after, the sink was leaking again, and we put in another work order. After quite some time, they had not fixed it so I wandered into their office to see what was going on. They told me that someone must have deleted the work order thinking it was a repeat of the previous one. I said fine, and had them put in a new one. The guy came back to fix the sink and told me it needed to be replaced. I said okay. Once again, he told me it would need to be ordered. However, not long after, I came home to a note that said the sink had been replaced. I was excited until I saw the sink. The sink had been swapped out from another unit and was cracked and chipped all over. It was functional, but considering that I take pride in the appearance and cleanliness of my home. I was upset.
There were many more similar incidents. Overall though, until now, I would have rated Edgewood park with 2 maybe 3 stars. Not somewhere I’d live again, but kind of minimally reasonable.
We moved out in July, never paid rent late, were always on time and friendly with the managers, and we kept the apartment in good condition. We were told upon move out that they would mail our final Water, Sewer, Garbage bill to our new address. I told them fine, but to note that we would be out of the country for 3 weeks until early august. They told me that should be fine, nothing would be considered late that quickly. When we returned home, we had a bill in the mail from them stating that they would send us to collections if payment was not received within 15 days of the bills arrival. As there was only a day or two left, I called them immediately and told them I was sending out a bill pay from my bank and told them the expected arrival date. They lady I spoke to told me she put a note in my account that payment was on its way and expected on such and such day and that note would stop anything from progressing.
Yesterday, my husband received a call from a collections agency saying that we were delinquent on the ‘horrendous’ charge of 62 $. He told them it couldn’t be right as we had paid the bill. They told him it would be put on our credit if it was not paid immediately so he paid it. Then he called me and I confirmed with him, and our bank, that the payment had been sent and delivered on time.
Calling Edgewood Park about this has been ridiculous. They cannot seem to figure out what happened, and now were stuck dealing with collections for something we paid, and have proof of payment for. The least Edgewood Park could have done was call us when they decided our payment was delinquent before sending us to collections. Especially, considering that we had been a perfect customer until then.
Unilocalers, my advice, stay clear of this one and any other properties of the parent company. They might seem like an attractive place to live with their semi-​affordable Bellevue location, however, the management is not worth the time and frustration you will experience. Pay a little more and go find a complex that will hire management that does their job.
