Losing a loved one is probably the most stressful situation anyone can face. Walking into it after your loved one has died suddenly with absolutely no advance arrangements can make that situation almost unbearable. Having gone through it just 18 months ago with my wife’s brother, I at least had a frame of reference. But I was definitely not ready to deal with again so soon with my wife of 45 years.
The folks at Distinctive Life were very understanding and helpful. They were very accepting of our desire to involve other service providers and in no way pressured us to use them to use them as our exclusive service provider. They worked with us as we worked up to the last minute to get all the details nailed down. Despite our lack of preparedness and last minute running around, they made it all come together in the most beautiful way.
The night of the vigil they were so helpful and sensitive to our needs. As my daughter said: «their facilities are gorgeous». We had an overflow crowd that stayed with us to the end of the night. The day of the funeral they were equally helpful and as my pastor likes to say: they know how to «become invisible». Everything was as perfect as a funeral can be. I could not have asked for better service.
Would I use them again? Absolutely! Would I recommend them to others. Of course! This is not your typical funeral home. These people make you feel like the most important clients they ever had. In summary, they are accommodating, professional, caring and very classy.
