Nice couple that owns the place but the pork hock and the stir fry was some what of a disappointment. Will try again other items but so far other options are better and not too far.

I have so many wonderful things to say about this little local Korean restaurant. At first I thought they are just going to be the same generic Korean food you’ll find in Portland, but to tell you frankly, Waba is WAY TOO AWESOMELY different.
Waba’s food are authentic and incredibly delicious. The prices are very affordable (my friends paid for my food, lucky me), and the servings are just WOW for the price you pay, you get A LOT!
I bow down to the couple who runs Waba. Yeah you might wait for a bit to get your food, but the wait makes every minute worthwhile.
I wonder if we could ask to make our food spicier, I’ll ask next time.
Overall, I’m in love with Waba!

If you’re looking for a late night food, nothing beats Korean food! Plus this place is authentic… run by an older couple who just doesn’t give a sh** about service.
However their food is fantastic. DUMPLINGS are made in house, frozen and boiled when you order. Pretty good, not that horrible machine manufactured space paste filling.
The STIR FRY VEGGIE UDON is fantastic and the special sauce is just delicious. I think its the blend of savory, sweet, sour, and smokeyness that just makes this dish so irresistible.
CLAM AND TOFU SOUP is very fresh but beware the massive amount of ginger slices. It will pierce your pallette.
ENVIRONMENT is cozy, meaning it’s tiny with only a about 7 tables in close proximity. No need for décor because the place is decorated by the smell of Korean cooking from the semi open kitchen.

Ever since I came back from Seoul, jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk have become one my favorite combos to eat. Waba is the only restaurant in the Portland area that serves both. Another thing you won’t get anywhere else in Portland is Korean fried chicken. I just wish they maybe used a little less cooking oil on everything. If we were in Korea, this place would get a C– and I’d probably never come back, but because it is literally the only option for the aforementioned things within a 100-​mile radius plus the establishment’s extremely Korean vibe, I give them a solid B. Will be back.

One of my favorite Korean restaurants in Beaverton! My family loves the boiled pork hock w/​Chinese 5 spicy blend, so I occasionally get some to take home. I also like getting the spicy pork bone and potato soup — it always hits the spot. I also had the stir fry veggie udon and that was addicting (I loved the sauce).
The couple that runs the restaurant is very friendly — This is definitely a mom & pop restaurant.

A small place but great food. For a family run place, they are pretty fast and efficient. Most family run places seem like they are figuring things out as they go, but this place they run it smooth like most professional restaurants. They get the food out pretty quick.
The food itself is good. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The short ribs taste like quality beef and not some cheap beef on sale. It’s good food.

I love their food, the potions are large and really worth the price. It’s a family restaurant so I feel really warmed and welcomed whenever I go there.

Loved my first visit to Waba Sushi and Grill. I looked around the tiny 7 table restaurant and saw 4 of the tables were eating noodles of some sorts, so I abandoned my soup plans and ordered the classic black bean noodle dish. It had a hint of spiciness and topped with diced zucchini, pork, and onions. It was dang good and the best of the dish in recent memory. If you happen to see this dish at Frank’s noodle house, just abandon all hopes, because it is nothing like it should be. Just order it at Waba Sushi instead. It’s only $ 7 and plenty generous.
Another thing, this is not a Sushi place. It is a Korean restaurant. Only japanese inspired dishes were Udon sauteed with vegetables and katsu. In fact, the noodles smelled and looked so good, I ordered one to go for my udon loving daughter. I did that so she would be more eager to join me next time. Her udon noodle dish was plenty as well. Only thing I missed were banchan dishes. They only serve 2 banchan free sides. Nevertheless, the service was friendly and the food was affordable. On the recommendation of another Unilocaler, I called to check their hours. They are only open until 2am on the weekend and open weekdays except mondays (closed) until 12 midnight. So happy they are open late. Looking forward to my next visit to Waba Sushi and Grill.

Don’t worry about the small somewhat sketchy looking building (we came at 9:45pm). Never been here before. Absolutely the most incredible Asian food I have ever had. I have always hated Kimche but I would drive across town to buy it here by the gallon. You wont find sushi here, but you will find the most delicious Korean food. We kept ordering more dishes because it was unreal. They are open till Midnight. We ordered, Marinated Ribeye which was tender and the sauce was rich and flavorful. The Chicken with Tangy sauce was a little different than I thought, I wasn’t expecting wings. However, they were the best wings I have had in my life you will have never had a wing with a more perfect crispy coating, cooked to perfection and moist inside. The sauce was kinda like a General Tso but out of this world better, light, sweet tangy with a little bite. Everything was so good we had to order one more dish so we went with the marinated spicy pork! The pork is very thinly sliced marinated and grilled served over grilled onions– not spicy at all rich flavor.
We will be back every single chance we are on this side of town. Be adventurous! We cant wait to go back and try dishes we never would have before. If the basic tame dishes can be this delicious there is no way the more edgy authentic dishes wont be held to the same standard. The owners cook right there in front of you so you know everything is fresh! Try it!!!

Pretty good for late night food. The menu is mostly in Korean and a few things don’t have an English translation. The food is decent. I got the Udon soup and the Raw Fish Salad with spicy sauce. The soup was good, but the raw fish in my salad was frozen.

nice boss，reopen for us at midnight ! Food excellent! cant miss it! I like the wine, and fried rice! We been here every week!

You have to stop by here! Don’t judge by appearance, your tummy will decides that for you :)

Today I went for the second time and it was even better than I remembered. Everything is good, tastes fresh and home made. The couple who runs the restaurant are very nice. I’ll definitely be back again. Warning: the soups and salads are very large portions! I was very happy to take half of my clam salad home. Looking forward to leftovers tomorrow~

dumplings are fabulous steaming little lumps of heaven. also got the black bean noodles (a little bland for me) pork katsu (solid fried goodness) and my friend ordered one of the specials which was a seafood hotpot complete with the burner brought to the table. he really enjoyed that, even tho it was a little pricey (around $ 30) solid spot. very friendly couple running the place.
my advice: their hours are posted as 2am, i suggest you call and ask when they are going to close on that particular night just to avoid disappointment.

My dad knew the owner and frequented his restaurants back in the day, so whenever I’m in Oregon my family drops by!
It’s a tiny little restaurant so it can only fit one large party. Also, the overhead menu is all in Korean but don’t get discouraged– peruse the menus they give you and order to your heart’s content– I don’t see a lot of non-​Koreans either, but it’s so worth a visit!
Waba (Korean for «come in») serves some really good street style Korean food. The jjajangmyun is a staple for me, as well as the dumplings. I just love the homestyle food they serve– you can’t go wrong!

I don’t like Korean food very much but this place has delicious grilled mackerel! It was so flavorful. The homemade dumpling was also delicious. The spicy grilled pork in a sizzling plate was tender and tasty.
This place is small and busy but the food is delicious.

I come here about once a week for late night food.
This is a mom and pop shop so don’t come here expecting 5 star service because it is literally a old man and his wife running everything from the front to back which is why I love coming here! It might take a bit for them to get to you but give them a break they are doing EVERYTHING! Super hard working people.
Anyways. Too the food!
The dumplings here is a must! They remind me of the dumplings I would eat back in Taiwan. They are steamed dumplings which come out pipping hot! Trust me… Just get them!
I haven’t tried everything here yet but I usually get the Donkatsu/​Tteokbokki/​Soondae
and usually the jjajangmyun or jjambbong which all taste great! Got the kimchi jjigae once and it was pretty damn good.
The prices here are pretty low compared to a lot of the other places.
This is always my go to place for late night food.

Great little place hidden in Beaverton. I haven’t had black bean noodle in a long time, and this really hit the spot. The chef speaks Chinese too! He said he lived in Taiwan for a few years and learned how to cook some dishes there. He was pretty friendly and I liked chatting with him.
BLACK BEAN NOODLE ($ 7): Definitely the star of the restaurant and with good reason. The noodles are perfectly chewy and the sauce is very delicious with bits of meat and zucchini. The chef gave me the tip of mixing a bowl of rice in the sauce and boy was that yummy. I couldn’t finish it but it made a great lunch the next day.
SPICY PORK BONE AND POTATO SOUP ($ 8): Good but I prefer Spring Restaurant’s version. The soup wasn’t as flavorful here and the potatoes were not cooked long enough.
DUMPLINGS ($ 5): Good but I probably wouldn’t order them again because these dumplings would be occupying space in my stomach that could be used for more black bean noodles!
