Please be careful me and my wife had contracted the norovirus(stomach flu) after eating from this restaurant. We ordered combo B and I won’t be going into the details of the food and service as it really doesn’t matter at this point. Its been 3 days of countless runs, high fever and nausea. Please be careful and take the time to let others know, this virus is highly contagious.

Ok. I might be spoiled Los Angeles lady. But… really… this place sucks. I am not sure djk is an average tasting korean food in Beaverton or portland or I was just unlucky to try djk instead of other better ones. From deco to food and to service, I could not find anything good about this place. Interior — very out dated 70s looking run down. Sticky floor, old furniture, even the cooking grill looked old Food — I saw the pictures on Unilocal.I should of known better. Ban chan tasted old and odd. I literally can make better tasting side dishes. Fishcake tasted soggy. How? How can you make stir fried fish cake watery and soggy? Meat — Thr worst quality meat I evrr tasted. We left whole bool go gi their plus most of pork belly and brisket. Brisket way too tough Pork belly too much fat and tasted old Both bool go gi and galbi tasted so old and water was dripping when we cooked galbi. All the meat tasted like it has been it the freezer for a ver long time. I mean really long… The soup… NO! Taste is wrong. The size of tofu in the soup is wrong. Salad — suger wasnt melted and suger crystals were oll over thr lettuce Servive wad lacking too. Only one waitress. And another lady who seemd like an owner. The waitress was nice but never check on us to ask to refil water.(We didnt need banchans to be refilled beacuse they were so bad) Didn’t even care to ask if everthing was ok or why we left most of the meat. The owner lady? Lol she should just stay home. I asked for more salad(this was best of all theor food eventho there was suger all over) no ansewer and just dropped it on our table. Nope no smile or no friendly word. Never again. And if you can… skip this place.

Feel like the place is particularly for Korean BBQ as you can feel the smokey once you get in there. Due to it is lunch we did not try their BBQ, just tried their lunch special, which was Seafood tofu soup combo and soybean paste soup. Firstly their lunch special price is great, with that price you can have enough garnishes, soup, steamed eggs and short ribs, feel it is very worth of that price. And the soup tastes very well, especially when you eat with the steamed rice. Hope to try their BBQ next time.

Such a nice staff and friendly service. Delicious Korean food and ample seating. I have zero complaints. Worth the drive.

The serve was really bad! Even no one come to add some water. And, they added tip in the bill directly. The worst try!!! I love never ever come back again.

I’ve been here before and I honestly think the food is good. The beef is perfect, the sauce, and all the little dishes we can eat. There’s a huge variety and also you will leave being stuffed. With that being said, I came here with two other people and so we ordered a combo which was about $ 75. It is very expensive and that’s not including drinks, or tip either. They bring out a lot of food like steamed egg, kim chi, some kind of spicy and sour soup(which tastes pretty bad imo), salad, sauces, etc. The«bacon» cuts were very thick and bland. tasted very bad and you have to douse it in sauce. I enjoyed it I just wish but I wish it wasn’t so expensive, it’s very pricey. We went there and it was quite empty, there was barely anyone there. The only downside comes down to the price and the food(some good some not good). In terms of service, on Mother’s Day we went here with our mom and a worker here was very deceptive. They told us we would be seated shortly in the inner area after someone comes and cleans it right away. About 45 min later we were seated in the main area. Other than that, the lady that we normally see working here is pretty nice and is helpful.

This is a yummy BBQ place that let’s you cook the meat yourself… or in my case, my dining companion did the cooking :) We both agreed this place was better than some of the places we’ve been in LA in terms of meat quality and banchan. And yes, they probably won’t win any customer service awards, one just needs to manage that expectation going into the dining experience. Definitely plan to return here when I need my Korean cuisine fix.

A friend brought me to this place awhile ago and I’ve been meaning to make a trip back because my experience there was like no other restaurants that I’ve been too. When we first pulled up to this place I was not impressed, from the outside the place looked more like an abandoned home than a restaurant. When I walked in I had to eat my words! The place looked elegant and had such a warm feel. We were greeted and sat right away, we decided to try a variety of things and maybe ordered a bit too much. Our server was a sweet lady who took such good care of us, I felt catered to and welcomed. Being able to cook for yourself a bit on the grill is quite fun, even better when you’ve had a drink or two there. It’s kept very clean in my book they certainly get a 5.

This place is one of my favorites to go. It’s near my house so it’s the place to go when I’m craving BBQ. I usually get Combo A-B when I go with 4 people, it’s a lot of food. They usually aren’t too busy, so there won’t be too long of a wait. Customer service seemed to improve from seeing the other reviews. There’s one waitress and she periodically checks up on us to make sure everything is okay. Food is a little pricey but that’s Korean BBQ for you. Portions are large here, so don’t order too much or you’ll end up bringing home lots of leftovers like me :)

My friends and I decided to try KBBQ here. We got combo B, which came with a variety of meats, a soup, steamed eggs, and side dishes. This combo was said to serve 2 – 3, which was pretty accurate for our group(3 ladies). I thought the food was okay but the service was slow, granted both waitress a little on the older side. They weren’t attentive at all. Overall I thought it was okay, I wouldn’t come back for KBBQ here.

My gf and I came here on a Saturday evening and were seated right away(wasn’t very busy). We wanted Korean, but not KBBQ and this place hit the spot. The rabokki«appetizer» was huge and with an order of bibimbap, that was enough food for two. Both dishes were good, nothing super special. The stonepot bibimbap didn’t make the rice super crispy like most places, but had a lot of veggies. We’ll come back another time to check out the KBBQ.

First, let me say that customer service here is atrocious. I was here with a party of eight a while back, and we wound up waiting over an hour and a half to be seated. We were originally told that we would be seated at two separate tables, so that everyone would be able to reach the food; this wound up not happening, so we had to squeeze our entire party around one table, and the people at either end weren’t able to reach the food. Our server was also incredibly slow, and never brought us utensils or napkins; I wound up having to go to the server station to retrieve some myself, as our party was getting anxious to eat. Next, the food itself: it’s fresh, as you should expect, but it’s not terribly unique. This isn’t food that I’d rave about, and the fact that we had to wait over an hour and a half to eat it made an already«meh» experience a «never again» one.

Good food, good service. BBQ can be expensive and if so, just order already grilled dish which is much cheaper. Soup and mixed rice dishes are great.

So I was a little leery of this place given a review I read on Google reviews that«once the Koreans start coming in in the evening, customer service goes downhill». Well, yes, the place did seem to be full of Koreans,(I look at that as a good sign!) And aside from waiting 10 minutes to get water /be acknowledged regarding our beverage selection(I’m told this is cultural) we had excellent service. I ordered the spicy chicken, my man got the bbq beef and we also ordered some exotic egg soup, which… Turned out to be more of a seafood stew that I wasnt crazy about, but I knew ordering that would be a wildcard. The bbq chicken and beef were great. We ate damn near all of it. We did not opt to cook our own food, as during this insane 100°+ summer, sitting on the non DIY bbq tables is much cooler!(Place was pretty stuffy)… I would definitely come here again. I love the selection of condiments; I get so bored with eating the same types of food, this was definitely an interesting new experience.

HORRIBLE! One star is even too generous! You walked in greeted by dirty, dusty old furniture, the floor is gross. Then the food Bugolgi and kalbi, bland, no flavor, no spices, no sauce, nothing! Very limited of banchan, no crispy seaweed, no Korean chili sauce just sooooo disappointed. In San Francisco there are millions of Korean BBQ with so many different banchan. This kind of restaurant would not make it if it was in San Francisco. They were 5 of us and immediately after paying the bill my friend’s son got stomachache, then followed by my friend she had to run immediately to the nearest restroom. Will not return!

In the great search for Korean bbq we attempted to go to Nakwon but we were too hungry to wait in line for 1 hour(especially since they close at 8PM and we got there at 7PM). We ended up Unilocaling nearby places and stumbled here-little did we know that it was a miracle! The ambience is very typical, lots of family style rooms and tables with built in bbq grills and giant ventilators overhead. All kinds of people eat here, giant family’s eat here-make haste to the cashier! We wasted no time. Now we’re two girls in our early twenties, my friend is pretty fit and I’m of average weight. Being the gluttons that we are, we each ordered our own sets of meat it’s avg to about 39.99 per set but each set comes with variations of meat. We chatted for about 15 mins and sipped on soju when the cart came out. Okay, there was the typical meat bowl which had all the meats, a bowl of lettuce for wraps, and plates with scissors. The waitress set everything down and lit our grill then left. The meat didn’t look too overwhelming so we were glad we each got our own that was until she came back. .With 8 – 9 banchans aka side dishes filled to the brim, a bowl of boiling stone egg soup, another bowl of boiling stone kimchi soup and two small bowls of rice. Bless my kimchi it was so much food!!! *please refer to picture that I posted* Service was on point, our waitress was very attentive and our water and side dishes never went empty. So glad we found this place! Will be coming back!

Soooooooooo this place has two areas: 1) a non-cook-yourself BBQ area 2) a cook-yourself BBQ area Decided to do option 2 so I had to «wait a bit» for them to clean the tables. I sign my name on this paper pad to ensure my spot on the list and think to myself, «alright, I’ll be next.» Before I start waiting, I ask how long it’ll take and I’m told 10 – 15 minutes. Over 15 minutes goes by and I ask about my table. The response I get: «the tables still need to be cleaned.» WHAT. I may not understand this whole process, but I believe putting the plates/utensils away, wiping down the table, and replacing the steel cooking tool should NOT take THAT long. The bus boy seemed to be taking his time — as he is STILL preparing one table. Another side note, the paper pad where I signed my name was no where to be found and the employees there didn’t think I was next. Are you kidding me? Finally got seated. Ordered the seafood pancake, which is delicious and I’d definitely recommend ordering this. Crunchy Korean pancake that had seafood and green onions mixed all in. It’s as big as a pizza so worth sharing! Also ordered the cook-yourself pack(I think it was order B) — the meat was good but not really seasoned at all so. meh. That’s all I really ordered here and when I say(and other reviewers say) the service is slow — be prepared to wait or bring a snack. Their service is so slow that when my party and I were done eating, the waitress brought the jasmine rice for us to have used with the cooked meat. AREYOUKIDDINGME?! We were done eating and the rice arrived. So, now what? I decided to take the rice home, can’t waste it! Don’t know if I’ll come back, but if I do… it’ll be a long time until then.

Pretty good for korean BBQ, nothing like LA or SF though. The service was very friendly, fast and efficient. Try to make sure to get there early! Went on a Saturday night and it was packed, fast. Wish it was all you can eat! Ordered the combo, a little pricy.

This was a wonderful place for dinner! Called around 5 for 8oclock reservations. Not hard to find, JKD is just off of hwy8. Parking was a little tight, but there were an adequate number of spots. Our hostess and servers were super courteous, making us feel like home in their Korean kitchen! The foods: ah-mazing!!! We ordered the KBBQ combo A for 2 people plus the raspberry soju cocktail at the waiter’s recommendation. Absolutely stunned by the amount of food we were served. In addition to the standard rice and banchan, we got a 15″ platter of sliced meats. Our waitress set us up by loading up our grill and helping us cut and serve the bbq’d items. Steamed egg, salad, and soup were also included. The cocktail was the perfect serving size for two and was dangerously delicious ;) Definitely will return at least once a semester!

I think this is our fifth or sixth time coming in here. Definitely the best Korean BBQ in town! For 1, this might be one of the only Korean BBQ restaurants in the area that actually uses a built-in meat cooker(?). Other restaurants such as nakwon and JCD use butane gas tabletop burner which is dangerous and illegal. Try to find restaurants in Seattle or LA using those. Stick to the legit Korean restaurant guys. Service has been very lacking in the past but I noticed that they got rid of some of the old Korean ladies and replaced them with younger waiters and waitresses who seem to serve 100 times better. Will come back more often.

Just like other reviewers I drove pass this establishment a thousand times and never tried it until last night. The parking lot is fairly small and towards the back lot is rather creepy considering the motel that is there. I was a few minutes early meeting a friend so I decided to stand in line behind a party of 4. After the party was seated, 3 different times each server walked by and asked how many people in my party and none of them seated me even with open tables. I continued to wait and the couple behind me got seated first. I finally was given a table and moments later my friend showed up. We both ordered the Sooddubu and it came with a bowl of rice. Our entrees was good and as my friend pointed out that’s what she always get. The side dishes were good but there was barley anything on the plates. I could tell the service already was lacking by my observance at other tables while waiting in line. I think this establishment is stingy with their side dishes. Never once did any of the servers come around asking if needed a refill(let alone check on us). Why don’t servers smile? Why did the couple behind me get better service? Is it because they sat in the BBQ area and we sat at a regular table? I honestly do not know but what I can tell you not everyone is not treated equally. The bathrooms are dirty just like every Korean restaurant in Beaverton that I’ve gone too. I was disappointed in the service as I was told good things about this place. Despite the good food I don’t believe I would return due to lack of service. I don’t think I can give them a 2nd chance unless they hire more servers. For those who never tried this establishment and decides to don’t wear anything fancy to dinner. I promise you, you will smell like Korean BBQ when you leave(ladies this includes your hair). They need a better vent system installed so customers don’t smell like the BBQ.

The Bibim Naengmyun here is worth the mouthful of pepper flakes that’ll be stuck in the corners of your teeth. We ordered the Osam Bulgogi, Bibim Naengmyun and Mul Naengmyun. on the day we also both wore a white t-shirt. As the laws of attraction dictate, when it comes to a clean white tee, it’s inevitable you’ll accumulate the above and all stains: dribbling icecream, muddy paw prints, condiment stains, and in this case– hot pepper splatter. I tucked in a napkin to prepare myself for the food massacre to my shirt, when the waitress came over with two clean kitchen aprons. She even helped me to tie it behind my neck. Aww. To note, I’m a really harsh Naengmyun critic that you would think that I was a North Korean purist(since Naengmyun originated there). But I give them two thumbs and one big toe up. The noodles are freshly made in the back which makes all the difference. It’s soft, thin, the right amount of chewiness and breakage point that won’t make you choke if you swallow one too many noodles. The sauce, and broth were both well marinated. The Osam Bulgogi was good too but only had the squid and beef, missing the pork belly(the way it’s supposed to be traditionally made). Ban chan(side dishes) was standard but not above the minimum that’s offered in Korean restaurants.
