Tea Thyme & Lavender Antique Gifts & Cafe

Visited on my lunch hour yesterday. I was very nicely greeted by the lady I assume to be the owner. You will see little dining tables set up in the front of the store, and she serves tea to guests. The sign on the front door says to make reservations if you would like to sit for tea. French music plays in the background, and she sings along, which gives the shop a bit of cutesy quaint feel.
I was able to browse through fairly quickly — the shop focuses on glass items & tea sets, so if that’s what you are looking for you should definitely stop here. Mind you, there are other various things besides glass pieces & there was a lot of Christmas themed items (shelves of snowmen things, glass tree ornament sets, etc.).
I have been to much bigger antique shops that are better organized, but I’m sure I will want to stop by this little place again sometime.

This is a great little shop. You can tell as soon as you drive up that they have many, many items, and you know it’s going to take a while to go through everything. The sound that greeted me when I walked in was, I can only assume, a French soap opera. Good stuff.
Items are laid out by color and style. I picked up a great little side table that the lady discounted because she hadn’t refurbished it yet. I took some Old English to it when I got home and it’s just great. I also got a set of small white plates with matching cups that sit on the plates in a little divot. «Very ’60’s», said the sweet proprietress. I will be going back to get another look at her bigger pieces; lots of hutches, tables and book shelves in good repair.

I love this little store. It had a nice balance of junk, kitsch, and treasures.
The lady at the counter was super sweet.
I found a cute saying, framed, that’s on my desk at work.
It says «I’m cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.»
I love that sign.
I’m going to head back in here next time I need a little inspiration.

Claire is wonderful, warm and inviting! She offers a yummy french selection of her favorite foods! We visit with her often and recommend her shop and food to all our friends!
