Awesome food and great service, and they are open late(4−5am!!!) Too bad they closed down… what a shame!

I had a pretty good time at the restaurant. The staff are nice and informative, they gave us a basket of salsa and chips right we sat down. We ordered the Sope with pastor and the Pachanga’s special(the one that looks like the picture on their business card). We were satisfied with our orders. I love how the pastor has little bites of pineapple in it, very tasty marinated pork! They had a salsa bar and it’s great… I throw some of the chile verde and other things in my sopes =) Liked it alot. My boyfriend said that the steak dishes are really good…(I haven’t tried them yet…) and I ordered the flan to-go, and it’s still in my car waiting for me to taste lol we’ll see… Though I thought some of the stuff on the menu is a bit pricey compare to similar Mexican restaurant, I think I’ll still come back. They open late at night until 4am… so convenient… It was a 3-stars experience and I added one star for open late-night! Overall, I had pretty good experience with this restaurant…

UPDATE: lots has changed at Pachanga’s. Prices have gone up and quality/quantity has gone down. My friend got an asada taco and it was ground beef?! I’ve docked one 1 star, but I have been shielded by my coworkers from a well-rounded assessment of the new place. And my simpler preferences haven’t been hit as hard. Kahwah Y’s first review was pretty spot-on on Pachanga’s. They have great pastor. The salsa bar is great. They’re changing the décor, so I’m curious to see what happens with the menu. I am a fan of the sopes also(a fatter tortilla round served similar to a tostada), throw some chile verde on it and you are stoked. Pachanga’s rides on a sweet spot between taqueria and restaurant. The food is quick and tasty, and reasonably priced. You can get a huge plate of food for 7 bucks. Going with tacos isn’t quite the bargain, but they are really good. The burritos are huge, and the chimichanga looks amazing.

I am a huge al pastor fan. When I was living in San Diego I frequented a few select taquerias who had the marinated pork down. My favorite cooked it on a vertical spit with pineapple. Pachanga’s cooks their al pastor the same way and it tasted delicious. My only complaints were the price($ 1.75 for a taco).for that price you expect a nice tortilla or two to keep the taco together. my al pastor was on one measly tortilla. Believe me the meat was what I was after and I was satisfied but the final product was lacking. Their burritos looked good but once again. overpriced at $ 6.95. However Daniel C from Redwood City CA obviously hasn’t had good al pastor being from the Bay Area so he should keep his weak opinions to himself.

I’m from California, so I’ve had my share of good burritos. So lemme tell you, Pachanga’s doesn’t have good burritos. Their burrito is average at best. I had the al pastor and my gf had the carne asada. Both were disappointing. I felt the burritos were overpriced and also the service is crappy unless you speak spanish.
