Ari did not seem to understand basic questions and dodged answers… She did apologize eventually, but none of the less I would expect tellers to be sharp minded. Not impressed in the slightest.

I have used them for years and before that another credit union that merged with them. Service is always quick and professional.
I like that they have the free coin counter. I never carry coins anymore I just build them up and get rid of them here!
They also have pretty good rates on things like car loans and ok rates on savings.
The drive through ATMs are nice. I stay warm and dry in my car, I find I do most of my banking with the machines! Fast, convenient and always open,
I am always glad I am a member here when I hear stories about peoples problems with the big banks.

Having had accounts at several credit unions, this one has been the best to bank with.
Their friendly staff are always quick to serve and I’ve never had to stand in a long line. There’s always someone at the front desk to help you out, so you don’t have to go search for a banker or bug a teller for something simple like a new debit card. This is the first credit union I’ve been to that issues a new debit card while you’re standing there for 5 minutes.
The lending department, somewhere in California, has great customer service hours and has been really quick to provide status updates and paperwork.

It’s difficult to find many businesses or services that provide outstanding customer service and products but First Tech has consistently delivered over my relationship with them in the last 18 years. Personable employees and a great online banking experience. They did have some trouble during a conversion about 5 years ago but have improved their online banking and billpay experience since such that it is now very performant. I consider myself lucky to be a member.

Amateurs…
lets just say that my wife applied for a loan in late Oct, after weeks of runarounds, we just got word last week that they need more documentation… all for a home equity line of credit. wow… this is unfortunately the 3^rd account we were told that our file was being sent to underwriting after being reviewed for final submission… excuses after excuses, delays after delays. this is by far the worst loan experience. I would think this process would be mildly time consuming… running on our 5^th month… we’ve cancelled the process of course. This is at the point of unprofessional, inexperienced and extremely frustrating. great credit, good equity… whats with the runaround?
if you have something important, go elsewhere. they’ve proven incompetent and very much so generalist, not a specialist. thanks Carrie… you steered us away for good from first tech… or should i say low tech since 2 months of your delay is based on a «new system»

I’ve been a member here for over 10 years and never had an issue. They offer low/​no fees great loan rates and the staff at this branch are very pleasant and helpful. Ill never bank anywhere else!

First Tech will soon increase their visa rates to most members by 50% or more (depending on credit score). The letter they sent to members concerning this — to put it kindly — was «poorly executed».
They used to have very competitive rates — and some say that after they merged with california based Addison CU — things have gone down hill. This is no longer an oregon credit union — it is based in palo alto, california and is definitely exhibiting a «big bank attitude».
I used to highly recommend First Tech — but my recommendation is to look at other smaller, oregon based CUs. Onpoint Credit Union — still a local credit union and much better rates than First Tech.

We’ve banked with these guys for years and years and years. They just keep getting better and better:)

Refinancing through this credit union. They are completely unorganized and do not speak to each other. Sometimes, no one returns your call. Other times, 2 people return your call and give you different answers.
They tell you how swamped they are with business. Why don’t they hire a few more people and get their business processes in order?
They are so unorganized, they seem to be making it up as they go along. Go somewhere else.

It used to be fantastic, much better than BA.
After Merger, not so much.
I’ve never had so many calls from the Fraud Dept of the Credit Union, locking out my credit card.
Now my Health Savings Account Debit Card is locked, and their Fraud & Customer Service cannot fix it. I’ve been hours on phone with them, repeating the same processes. They cannot find my account via the account #, so I have to give over & over: SS, address, BD, itemize each account. I keep having to tell them it’s the HSA account, then I have to explain what that is.
Then the girls say their computer dies and I have to call back in 20 and start over.
They want to examine each charge to see if it’s fraudulent, even though I’m online looking at the account and I’m telling them each charge is FINE.
The bill collectors are calling me.
Frankly, it might be faster to drive 20 miles to the bank, withdraw the money, and drive it to the Dr.

now that they merged. They are the worse they do not reply to emails. And now after 14 years they ask for extra vercation to login OK but no email is sent so then they lock my account so i call and no one can unlock it until monday WTF sooooooooooo mad i am going to close my account…
