Raos is okay but extremely over priced ! I enjoy they’re Carmella & strawberry cheesecake muffin but I don’t frequent them as much due to the cost of the items.

Wow! Jake and his Great staff are wonderful! From helping me pick out the Perfect Raspberry/Cream Cheese King Cake to the sinful Tuxedo Mocha Coffee. Always a smiling face at Raos on Dowlen!

Sorry Beaumont, I just can’t say anything too great about Rao’s. Cookies taste like sugary cardboard, croissants are dry/stale(first thing in the morning), and cakes are way too sugary(yes, it’s possible). I’ve given the place a fair chance and tried it multiple times ordering several options, never impressed. And why can’t I buy a decent loaf of bread here? Seems like a staple for a bakery.

This is one of the highlights of my bi-annual trips to Beaumont. Outstanding bakery and coffee shop, highly recommended.

My mom fell in love with this bakery the first time she went there. She told me it reminded her of a chain café, La Madeline, but way better — so of course I was excited to try it! I had the pecan pie gelato and DAMN. I love the way they display their food, too, and the customer service was ok.

The desserts and coffees are fantastic! Dining in is always great, but the drive thrus are inconsistent. I almost never use them since they take forever compared to just getting out of the car and ordering something to go. I write this as I’ve been sitting in line for a peppermint hot chocolate for over ten minutes now with only two cars ahead of me. I should have gone inside…

Rao’s Bakery in Beaumont, Mid-County, and at Baptist Hospital is a great place to get your morning coffee and sugar serving. Great coffee, and great pastries!

The mango gelato was a bit to sweet and watery for me and I think $ 1.89 for a tiny chocolate covered strawberry is over priced considering I can probably make one. But the napoleon heart was delicious. Definitely coming back for more

Disappointed in the service and the food. I put in an order, waited 10 – 15 minutes and then went to inquire about it. They had forgotten about it. Then when I did finally get the ham and cheese croissant(heated up in a sandwich press), the croissant was warm but the interior was not. Cheese wasn’t even melted. Ham and cheese were cold.

I really like the Kona Mocha here and the desserts. The cakes are always good and it’s always clean here. They have good service and are never too crowded

Combine the quality of the Rao’s on Calder with additional space and you have the Dowlen Road location. I use coffee shops throughout the DFW metroplex for business meetings and this location rivals any that I’ve been in. But ambiance can only get you so far. Their coffee and bakery quality is outstanding so it makes for a great setting to meet friends or clients.

I visit Raos often. They have the most awesome cakes, pies, and pastries. Also coffee that will satisfy anyone’s pallet from Caramel Latte to my favorite Frozen Kona Mocha. It’s a frozen mocha flavor coffee drizzled with chocolate and topped with whipped cream. Great way to cool off. Then there is the selection of gelato. They have many flavors to choose from. Rao’s is the place to get breakfast and lunch. Everything from your favorite bagel to a specialty sandwich. Atmosphere is nice also.

This place was great, great desserts, great place to study, hang out, meet up with a friend or simply be alone and read a book or so, looking forward to coming back in the future, great selection in desserts too.

I had the tuna sandwich for a quick bite, but what I enjoyed the most was there banana nut muffin with a coffee latte. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable to enjoy an evening. The staff was very attentive and polite. I would recommend you coming in for some good pastries and coffee latte to relax after a long days of work.

Um, not so much. The coffee is NOT good, and the operation surrounding the coffee preparation is sloppy and untrained. In fact, at this location, the entire operation was a very clunky and hesitant machine when we visited… staff did not seem prepared to handle the crowd, even though there seemed to be enough of them. They get 2 stars for the selection and tastiness of baked goods, and the fact that it’s the only place like it in the area, but otherwise, I’ll pass…

Rude manager! Over priced! Too sweet cakes filled with hard cream & nastiness. Its extra to get your ice tea sweetened? Lol it sure looks fancy and the ambiance is great but their attitudes & food needs super tweeking!

Nice, quaint coffee shop with layers of excitement! Whether you are on a dessert date with a friend, studying with a group, or just need some peace and quiet with a good cup of joe, Rao’s is the place to go! Share a dessert as they are very rich! Haven’t had anything that I didn’t like! Gelato is perfect to cool of during the summer! They also have fabulous cinnamon rolls for breakfast and the Sicilian tuna is my favorite for lunch! I prefer a plain black coffee, but their specialty drinks are amazing a well!

Why can’t we have one in Houston! I came, I saw and I wanted. Our version of this place would be I could almost say like«Dessert Gallery». There is just too many dessert items and flavors for me to enjoy in a months time so here is a quick sample of what I could remember from my two visits. Coffee bar on the right as you walk in, sorbe case with at least 12 flavors that beckon’s your inner sweetness to try, dessert cakes to the right of that that demands you try a piece of each and then if you are not taken by that there are chocolate covered strawberries and little tid bits that will snap your neck as you try to walk by and look at the sandwich menu. If you aren’t into sweetness but want a place to study or just have a cup of coffee there are plenty of seats where you can sit and admire the interior decorations that absorb your attention and have you feeling kind of like you are in someone’s house. No there are not any couches but the set up has that«at home» ambiance you would find in any business that is short of accomplishing that. There is also a little outside patio with a small water fountain that grazes the parking lot for your fresh air willing pleasure. Service is pretty much decent if not very good. Lots of employees willing to help you on any questions you can not help to wonder why can’t this be the minimum type of attitude you experience everywhere else? Keep up the good job people, you have my vote of returning.

Love Rao’s! I’ve ordered many items from here in the past and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve ordered the Charlotte cake twice for special occasions and it was delicious and beautiful and everyone was very pleased. The other items including the tuna and spinach salad is also amazing. I highly recommend Rao’s Bakery!
