Riviera Pizza

I have been a customer of Riviera’s for as long as I can remember. My family has been getting pizza and other dishes from Frank and his staff since I was a child. The best pizza in the area by far! Whenever I am in the area I make sure to stop in for a slice or grab a pizza on the way to a friend’s house! So delicious! The service and food are both great!

The most bland pizza I have ever had. The sauce lacks salt and is very basic. The place is petty dirty too. The crushed peppers, oregano, and Parmesan cheese are literally chained down to a table. I would avoid this place at all cost

The food is always great and the service is excellent. Subs an cheesesteaks are amazing too. Pasta dishes not so much; always overlooked.

Riviera Pizza has some of the most authentic NY style pizza I have had in the MD/​DE area and I moved here from NY 6 years ago, so I have had plenty of time to try out different places. If I had to choose I would 100% go here before anywhere else. They have the old school style pizza ovens and it makes all the difference in the crust. I am picky from the crust to the sauce and cheese used as my pizza standards are very high. I have to say that outside of NY I have not found better pizza crust. The toppings are all very good quality, they use Grande cheese and the sauce is homemade and not sweet, it is very good — seasoned perfectly. The only things I can say that I wish were different is consistency, 95% of the time you get great pizza, occasionally you will get a slice here that is floppy and not crunchy. Also when it comes the specialty slices they have daily, its not always the same choices but there always an abundance of delicious ones to choose from. I would highly suggest you try their Sicilian (square) slices or there white slice with tomato — delicious! If you like the typical style of soft mushy Delaware pizza in this area you probably won’t like this place but you should try it anyway. I can’t imagine anybody would regret it.

Great food and friendly people. Best buffalo chicken cheesesteak I’ve ever had. Highly recommend it.

We live nearby & love to order out from here. They are more than just a pizza shop. If you like old fashioned style pizza you will love it! The lasagna, mozzarella sticks, burgers, fries & cheesesteaks are delicious too.

The food is good and yummy but not rememberable or special. The staff is very very nice and polite. Very affordable and reasonable. Nothing on the menu really stands out. A really nice spot for kids to pickup a slice after school. Or for you to satisfy your craving for pizza on the run.

Staff is very friendly and food comes out fast. Prices are cheap for the quality you receive from an old school pizza shop.

We happened upon this pizza/​Italian place when we were in the area. Place did not have much ambiance– and it seemed like the staff focused on taking your order and moving you through the line. But the food was very good. We had an antipasto salad and spaghetti with meat, and both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. If we lived in the area, we could see ourselves visiting often. We were glad we ate here — well worth the stop!

Favorite pizza of all time!!! If you live greasy pizza like I do this is the place to get it.

Don’t listen to the 1 star reviews I have been a customer for years and the staff here are always friendly even when you get some of the trashy guest. Their pizza and cheesesteaks are great. The baked raviolis are also great. I haven’t had a bad dish in this establishment and will be a customer for many years to come.

Either I’m really hungry or this is good pizza! Glad to be able to run in and choose a slice — which they oven heat quickly — or order a full pizza or sub. Crust is thin, and I’m glad about that. I’ll be back if I’m in this area again at lunchtime!

The pizza here wasn’t very good. Pretty bland to tell the truth. The subs here rock though. Lots of meat and blows away other sub shops in the area.

This place is a joke. I just tried ordering a cheese steak with wiz on it… and the kid on the phone refused to do so. They have the cheese there for cheese fries so why the big deal to plop some on a steak? Charge me more, idc, but to just tell me «No, just put American on it.» Lol I have a picky bf who doesn’t like American. Good thing Mario’s came to the rescue with there excellent cheese and btw Riviera doesn’t even offer delivery. Boo for you guys!

Great local pizza.

Probably the best pizza in the area. I watched as my large pizza was made, start to finish, within 15 minutes. Plenty of cheese without much grease. The tomato sauce has the right level of sweetness and tanginess; I was less impressed with the white pizza I tried.
The staff are friendly, and I get the sense that there are a lot of regular customers. One cook knew by name several of the people who came in.
By the way, this is not Italian-​style pizza! Whichever other reviewer said that bit about «pizza made by real Italians» doesn’t know what they’re talking about. The guy tossing my dough was clearly of Central or South American descent — and very skilled, don’t get me wrong.
All I’ve tried is their pizza, but the rest of the menu is extensive: sandwiches, pastas, salads.

My fiancé and I happened to stumble upon this place after meeting with our real estate agent located next door to the shop. I was really in a mood for a cheese steak but he wanted pizza instead so we stopped in here because they have both. My cheese steak was amazing! I love how they don’t lump dry meat into bread then dump melted cheese on top. They actually seem to mix the cheese and meat together and put whatever toppings you want on it (I happen to love pickles on my cheese steaks). My fiancé says he pizza was really good, not greasy or bland. It was so good that we went in the next day too for more. The staff was really friendly too.
We ate there at least once a week for about a month and a half before we bought our house and moved to Middletown. When I still worked in Newark and would pass it on the way home I’d occasionally pick up dinner but now since I work in Elkton, it’s kind of a drive out of the way… But I will drive out of my way just for their cheese steaks!

Thank you Bear Unilocalers. Because of you we have found our go to place for pizza and cheese steaks. We were in Bear long enough to eat twice, once for pizza on our way to White Clay State Park and once for family cheese steak night. My brother in law finally had a cheese steak that was large enough with your 14 inch large and Italian friend, Mike, said the Sicilian pizza was perfect. My broccoli pizza was really good and felt like a healthy choice. We all thought the flavor of the cheese steaks beat the local chains hands down. And your fries are pretty good as well. It seems everything on the menu is good as I saw one of everything being made and taken home.
