On my way back from a country outing and wanted a snack. There were two very friendly goats that I pet outside in a fenced shaded pen to the side of the place and I hear that they also have strawberry picking but this review is on their chicken salad and their biscuits. I see a large gallon ziplock bag of biscuits. Not those tiny little flat biscuits but big fluffy biscuits and the inside of the bag had some slight condensation which meant to me that they were still a bit warm when put in the bag. It was about only a few bucks for a bag of a dozen biscuits and the minute I got home and ate one, I literally had to have a moment to stop myself from eating the whole bag. These are the BEST biscuits I’ve ever had in my life. Mainly because I do not like biscuits that are so drenched in butter that you feel like you are growing pimples as you are eating them. These were light, moist, fluffy and surprisingly filling once they hit my stomach. I also had a side of their chicken salad from their deli which was also delicious and had lots of cranberries in it which I thoroughly enjoyed. The biscuits alone were worth every penny and I would even still consider driving the hour plus to get there just to get them again. As I was leaving, there was a performance going on in the above rafters which I thought was rather nice for what I am sure are local artists.

The people at the front are very friendly and helpful. I explained it was my first time here. The nathrooms are very rustic and clean. Two stalls for the women‘s. They have different types of strawberries to pick from. The fresh produce is wonferful. I bought some romaine lettuce. Reasonably priced too. They have two nice play areas for kids. Only thing I would want is allowing dogs. A definite repeat trip next summer!

I am dropping my rating because I visited yesterday to grab some fresh strawberries. I left empty handed as the strawberries that they were selling at full-price were already going bad. There was mold! They shouldn’t be selling these old strawberries and certainly not at full-price! I was going to try one of their donuts and noticed it was moist on top. Looks like they might have been leftovers too. Oh well!

If there was a no star rating I would of picked it! You know it used to be a friendly place not after today! Sent over $ 50.00 and my grandkids wanted to play on the not so great play area! No where by this area is there a sign saying l That it costs $ 3.00 per child to play! So I payed because the kids were having fun. Was harassed by employes they watched us while making faces! So please share if you see this. I will not be going back and will be telling everyone I know about what happened today.

Great locally owned business in Fauquier! They sell fresh produce and many items from local farms and businesses. They sell breakfast(biscuits & gravy, sandwiches, etc.) and lunch(soups, sandwiches, etc.). They also sell pies(whole & by the slice), dog treats, all natural and vegan items… you’ll find so much here! They also host seasonal events. Definitely check them out!

If you’re into taking back roads on the way back to DC from Charlottesville, this place off Route 28 northeast of Culpepper is definitely worth a stop. I loaded up on frozen meat, vegetables, apples, fudge, and other stuff I probably could have gone without. I loved the rustic wood building, the high vaulted ceilings inside, and the selection of produce. There were even goats out front next to a big pumpkin patch.

Stopped in on a rainy Sat evening. What a great concept, nice selection of fresh and local produce. Just like growing on the farm, go pick your own. Don’t wear nice shoes; especially on a rainy day. A true family owned operation. Check out their web site.

We love Messick’s Farm Market! So nice having a place like this close to home. They have convenient hours, great produce, and prices are reasonable. It’s such a unique experience to be able to go pick your own flowers/fruits/veggies if you want to.

The Market Manager must be an extraordinarily capable person. Putting a place like this together and managing it as he does is extremely impressive! Bought lots of stuff there, and will go back often. Dealing with the Manager is a pleasure!

LOVE Messick’s Farm Market! I work Saturdays so going to a farmer’s market in Culpeper or Warrenton is out of the question these days. But I have Messick’s Farm nearby now. It’s the middle of summer and they are bursting with produce grown at the farm, along with other fruits and veggies, local breads, pies, milk, meat and so much else. My special treat every time I go is one tiny square of maple fudge. We are eating a lot more fresh veggies thanks to them.

Messick’s Farm Market just opened up for business. It’s located just off of Route 28 just a couple of miles from the U.S. 17/Route 28 intersection. It’s a cool, small local Farm Market offering a wide range of local products: fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, dairy products, snacks, and other food products. They had a rather large grand opening celebration this past Saturday. I arrived late in the Afternoon and so missed out on the initial festivities. I took my time perusing the store to see what they offered. I ended up selecting a couple of different kinds of Virginia peanuts. Check out Messick’s! I think there is something here for everyone!
