We loved it! The Dr Who memorabilia is awesome! The employees were fun and knowledgeable. We all enjoyed our food. I had the honey pear tea and tea cake. I usually add cream but it was delicious all by itself! So fun!

Now I know! Fish fingers and custard are good! Enjoyed it though it’s a bit pricey! We brought our nieces from Oklahoma who are super Doctor Who fans. Wish Albany had one! It’s about a 2 hour drive for us.

the waiter serving had zero passion. There is a bunch of dr who things, but the staff made no mention of it. I was expecting more… food was okay.

I’m so happy we decided to come here for lunch. My husband had the hummus and then the cottage pie. He enjoyed both very much. I loved the Turkey Bacon Brie sandwich and the bread pudding is my favorite around!

Whether you’re a hardcore Whovian or are just getting into the series, The Pandorica is a fun place to visit for a meal or even just a spot of tea. The restaurant’s creators have done an admirable job of decorating the walls with tons of fan art(done by a local artist) that are simply stunning. Hardcore fans can even purchase paintings(and they do, so the selection continuously changes). Authentic-looking props are sprinkled throughout the cozy restaurant, and exposed brick and ceiling tiles make for a very English vibe(fitting, considering the show’s origins). The staff is always friendly and very enthusiastic about all things Whovian. Clips of the show are constantly playing in the background on a TV, which are great to watch while you wait for your food and marvel at the paintings. The Pandorica’s strengths absolutely lie in its theme, that being the beloved British series. The food isn’t bad but it definitely also isn’t the reason most people come back. Certain dishes are better than others, and I personally prefer to go there for dessert and coffee(or tea, of which they have a generous selection). Though the food is secondary to the restaurant’s décor/theme, I will say that their menu is fearless(much like the Doctor himself): fried alligator is one of the menu’s specialties! For those who aren’t quite that daring, their WHOmmus is quite enjoyable, and the fish fingers are always a delight(French toast sticks with custard for dipping). If you decide to visit the Pandorica, prepare for a sci-fi experience that is festive and engaging. Make sure you also check out the bathroom and take some pictures in front of the custom-made Tardis!

I have been to this restaurant several times before joining Unilocal.I have brought several of my geek friends(including my husband,) We all love this place. The décor is totally appropriate. The owner knows her Dr. Who trivia, and will patiently chat with any geek about it. The food is unique and delicious. My only complaint is they need to give more of it for the prices. I haven’t had a problem with service there. My favorite experience here was coming out of the bathroom, and photobombing a group taking a picture in front of the TARDIS door!

This is a cute restaurant, for what it is. Dr. Who themed with the TV showing a bunch of episodes as you eat. I’m not a huge Whovian as my friends are that I’ve been here with several times, but I can appreciate the place for what it is. The theme or décor of this restaurant is definitely not why this place only got three stars. I’m disappointed in the food. As I mentioned, I was here several times. The seasoning is often off, either bland or just too much. I ordered the thymey whimey beef cottage pie, which was ok, definitely not like a traditional British cottage pie with its grounds beef. The thyme was overwhelming, though I know it has«thyme» in its name, it was just too much. The bangers and mash are not consistent, really flavorful one time but not the next. I want to love the fish fingers and custard, but they’re just friend carbs and the custard has no flavor. The tea is always good, at least.

Ground beef pot pie was awesome and so was the service but this place needs more menu choices. The décor was cool but there isn’t much reason to make trips back with so few menu options. Tea options were good though. This place has potential.

Wait a minute, Slapping up VanGogh TARDIS mural, the Pandorica lodged in the brick, a crack in the wall and painting the bathroom door to look like the TARDIS doors classifies this as a Doctor Who themed restaurant? I was highly disappointed in this place, I wanted to love it so hard too. It seems NOONE watched any of the Doctor Who seasons aside from the Matt Smith ones. The waitress didn’t even get my Doctor Who reference when she seated us. Honestly I should have known from the get go I would be let down. We ordered appetizers and drinks around lunchtime. Aside from the cutesy names referring to other Doctor Who characters not appearing with Matt Smith, the food was far from creative and much less creatively displayed. Seriously? Could I get a little dressing with all the lettuce used? Not to mention the counter service area is a disaster. Really looks like someone takes pride in their establishment. Paper strewn all over the place, a disorganized mess. And having to pay off an iphone square? C’mon, lets get serious! This place COULD be a million times better with a little love. Get your hearts involved!!! fyi: if you require the use of a high chair for your tiny Stormageddon(child), they have none…

Our first experience was GREAT — we went late at night for some tea/beer and the dessert version of fish fingers & custard. The waitress that time was friendly and attentive, and we chatted with our next-door tablemates, so we had a great time. Thus, we were excited to bring a fellow Dr Who fan friend to discover the fun! Unfortunately, the service was TERRIBLE the second time. The waitresses just didn’t care at all: it took them ages to even acknowledge we were there, much less take our order, and we never got checked in on(we waited on drink refills the whole time). We were about to order dessert, but by the time they got around to us, we decided we’d rather not spend any more time in the joint. I hate to tip anything less than 20%, but I REALLY wanted to with this abysmal service. They just didn’t CARE. Our friend really enjoyed the concept, but definitely not the execution… (Our food was reasonably good, however. I had the curried chicken salad and enjoyed it, although I didn’t like the kind of chips that came with it.)

My daughters and I decided to try this restaurant, as we live just across the river but had never gone. My daughters are avid Dr. Who fans, so that was the main reason we went. The three of us loved the theme and the decorations. They also were excited to see the various props in the display case up front. I was also pleasantly surprised by how good the food was, as I wasn’t sure what to expect. My younger daughter couldn’t wait to try fish fingers and custard(which were fish sticks with a cup of custard to dip them in). I chose the falafel wrap, which was VERY good. My older daughter enjoyed her cranberry chicken salad, and the cake they ordered for dessert was delicious. Our server was very friendly and discussed the«best episodes» with my girls. This restaurant was great for«Whovians» but not so overdone that non-fans would feel out of place, and the food was terrific. Definitely stop in if you are in the area.

How have I not reviewed this place yet? I love the Pandorica. If you are a fan of Doctor Who, past or present, you have to make a trip up to Beacon, NY. So far we’ve gone during the week so it wasn’t crowded, most of the time it’s just us and the owner. The advantage to that is that every time we have gone, we got to choose the Doctor Who episode to dine to.(The owner has Doctor Who streaming from Netflix on the television and she takes requests) The menu consists of Doctor Who themed foods, however I do wish the menu could offer more of a variety. Understandably this is more of a café rather than a full restaurant.

This is a wonderfully themed Doctor Who restaurant. We drove to Beacon from NYC on a rainy afternoon. The quaint restaurant, whose pictures make it seem larger on the inside, was the perfect place for a peacefully geeky Doctor Who filled lunch for me and my family. The theme is just enough for a Whovian to be delighted with a Tardis bathroom door, Amy Pond’s crack in the wall, and a local artist’s paintings of a few of the companions. However, even a normie could appreciate the lovely atmosphere. We were greeted and seated as soon as we entered. Our waitress, as well as the other staff, was pleasant and attentive. As soon as she realized that we were Whovians she offered to put on our favorite episode as the restaurant wasn’t too busy yet. While we watched«Don’t Blink», we ate the K9 appetizer(mini corn dogs with honey mustard sauce). Both my husband and I ate main dishes from the specials. For dessert we shared a plate of Fish Fingers and Custard. Everything was fresh and magnificently delicious. We drank their iced peach tea which was so yummy it didn’t need any sugar. Before leaving we made sure to sign River’s Journal(The Guestbook). We will definitely be back.

So excited, finally got to this place. As everyone says the bathroom is the best. If you a true whovian you will enjoy but I agree with other reviews they could have added much more on the décor and names of foods. That said food was very good, of course had the fish fingers and custard, k9’s, and a sandwich special. Staff was very friendly however a tiny bit slow. All in all a pleasurable experience, except for some absolutely obnoxious Russian bully who yelled at the waitress for nothing. But thank god an older woman, owner maybe, cane out gave them what for and kicked them the hell out, she was Great for sticking up for her girl like that!!#

I am a Dr. Who fan and was quite charmed by the decoration of this place, the art work is great and the bathroom door is awesome. The place is elegantly Dr. Who, not in your face. The service at this place is really slow, especially if you order something hot, this is not the place to go if you are on a time limit. The first time I came here I think we sat through 3 episodes of Dr. Who in 2 hours for a party of 5, our waitress forgot to send out the beer one of us ordered, he finally asked for it again and we got changed twice for it! We were also overcharged for two other items as well. The waitress finally fixed it but was really dismissive at first until I showed her the menu and she corrected the check. Our table got 3 entrees that time which contributed to the lengthy wait and the quality was pretty good, but I won’t order the fish sticks and custard again! The second time we got different waitress and the service itself was much better. I got the pear cranberry wrap which was delicious but it came out like 15mins before the rest of my party, which is quite awkward to be the only one eating at the table. This time only one of the 5 of us got an entrée, although I still felt like we were waiting awhile.

I should probably start this review off by saying that I am not a Whovian, or whatever Dr. Who fans call themselves. Out of the party of the 5 of us that went here a few weekends ago, only one of us was a fan of the show. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it seemed like a fun place to stop by after visiting Dia: Beacon and having lunch at Max’s on Main. I should also warn you that I didn’t get to sample any of their savory food items, so this review won’t be all that comprehensive. Instead, my friends and I opted for various items off of their dessert section. I got a mini pot of mint tea and a slice of their pecan pie. I was pleased to see that their mini pot of tea came replete with a tea cozy. Also, my cup and saucer were delightfully English country shabby chic in style. Oh yes: the restaurant itself. Well, there’s a large screen T.V. that plays episodes of Dr. Who. The bathroom door looks like a Tardis, and there are killer? evil? mini snowmen on each table. Oh yes, and they have fish sticks and custard on the menu(the fish sticks were actually pieces of deep fried French toast). Service was a bit on the sluggish side, but I think there was only one server for the entire restaurant when we had went, which was on a Saturday afternoon. A fun experience and I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed it more if I was actually a Whovian myself. I guess if you happen to be in the nearby area, AND you happen to be a true Whovian yourself, then this place is worth the visit.

Excellent service. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Pandoricas roots as a tea shop show through in the incredible selection of teas(appropriate for the Anglophile in all Whovians.) The potato pancakes are excellent and the bangers and mash superb.

I had to be up near this area for business and decided to take my son with me, as we are both huge Doctor Who fans. The awning is obviously out of date outside of the business, but there are signs in the windows saying«The Pandorica.» Bonus? We got a parking spot right out front! I hesitate to call this a «restaurant.» I would call this more of a «tea room with lofty aspirations.» I got the feeling that the place had just switched hands or that the current owners had just taken possession of the place. It had an unfinished feel to it, but I still enjoyed the atmosphere. As a big Doctor Who fan, I appreciated the sunflowers on the table, the reproduction of the Van Gogh exploding TARDIS painting(which my son and I had our picture taken in front of by our nice, if distant, waitress), the stylized pictures of Rose and Ten, and we definitely appreciated the TARDIS themed bathroom with the crack in the wall in the hallway. We ordered our food and it came out quickly and was very good. My son had the fish fingers and custard(which was really custard) and the K-9’s(mini corndogs, hand dipped and with a very yummy sausage). I had the chicken and mushroom salad, which had a very generous portion of mushrooms and chicken in the very fresh greens. The only complaint was that there was not enough salad dressing, but I did not ask for more as I was just too tired and hungry from the drive up. The dishes that my son ordered were very small portions, more like very small appetizers. We did splurge and order dessert. He had the brownie sundae, which he scarfed down(he doesn’t normally like brownies) and I had the pecan pie, which was very yummy. All in all, I felt it was a pretty good once-in-awhile treat to go to. We both ordered soda, which was $ 2.50 a glass without free refills(a bit extravagant), had three dishes and dessert with the price coming to around $ 65.00 A little bit more than I would have liked to have spent, but the food was excellent. If you’re in Beacon, and looking for a unique, themed experience, I would go. We had a good time, enjoyed watching Rose and the 9th Doctor plot to defeat the Daleks and figure out, finally, about Bad Wolf. It was a very enjoyable experience and one that I will definitely repeat when I am up in the area.
