This place has some nice tapas: try the mushroom risotto and the Brussel sprouts. They have a really formidable wine selection and the service has been good both times I’ve been there. I give three stars because the food is good, but not spectacular – the wine is the selling point. My bf has had an old fashioned from the bar and said it was very good, ice in the glass is one huge cup-sized cube, which was very cool.

great for drinks. tasty tapas. but man oh man smallest burger I have ever had! burger here is around $ 16. but the size of burger is same or slightly most minuscule amount bigger than size of s slider. would you want to pay $ 16 for a slider? not me. order tapas. zucchini tapas was very tasty. but go to this place after you eat some food. then you can eat a little more with your drinks. fantastic cocktails. last time I was here the bartender had created a drink that day and made it for us. so yummy. can’t remember the name. sorry. but I think their cocktail drinks are mostly all yummy. be ware you may drink more than you planned because drinks are yummy here.

came here for dinner last night with my family for Mother’s Day(mom’s request) we had another great meal — split a bunch of tapas(risotto, sauteed shrimp, pulled pork bruschetta, sea scallops, crispy sea bass, crispy potatoes) and we also split the half pressed chicken and a cheese plate. for dessert we had espressos and split the brown sugar cheesecake — think delicious cheesecake with a crème brûlée type of crust! it was delicious everything was delicious, great wine and the service(Luke took care of us) was on point — attentive without being pushy love this place!

Finally got a chance to check out this place. Reading the latest reviews I was very worried about their customer service. All in all we had an excellent time. Our waiter was very attentive although it being a very busy Saturday night. He was also very knowledgeable about the wines. Our water was always replenished and we did not feel rushed. The food was very good, we shared the buratta and shared a cheese plate. We love cheese :) The cheese was very good, the honey truffle dip and the black olive tapenade that came with the bread was delicious. The bottle of red wine that our waiter suggested was a great choice for what we were eating. The desserts were delicious. Can’t wait to return and try out the other food on the menu.

I had high hopes for this place. I happen to love Tapas and the menu looked GREAT. I called to reserve a table for 2 at 8:30pm– they told me it was recommended to do so. We walked in at 8:30 and there were only a few tables filled. We placed our order and waited… and waited… and waited. I looked down at my phone and realized an entire hour passed by and not one waiter came to check up on us. I proceeded to get the waiter who told me he would check with the kitchen — needless to say he never came back. Another 2 waiters came to talk to us to no avail. We got our first SMALL plate over an hour after we sat. We noticed the couple next to us was having issues with their food not coming either. And to make matters worse the other couple to Our right had to cancel their entire dinner because in two hours they only got appetizers. ITWASHERBIRTHDAYDINNERFORCRYINGOUTLOUD. She left her baby at home to go for dinner and didn’t even get her food! The waiter came back after the 1.5 hours to go over the rest of our order and had it all wrong. It was like someone was playing a bad joke! The manager stopped by to apologize countless times and he himself could not explain why things were going the way they were. He took a few dishes off of our menu to compensate us. As a foodie and someone who loves to try new places I will never return here solely because of the service. They could not get it together. It was so frustrating so for that reason alone I would not recommend this place.

First let me start by saying, the food is great and the drinks are great as well. THEREASONFORTHISONESTAR — - We were a party of 5. We have money. We spend it on very expensive restaurants between Vegas, Miami, Europe, and the finest places in meat packing. Myself and my family have NEVER experienced a disgusting attitude of a RESTAURANTMANAGER in our lives. To the point where it became serious at the end of the night we had a very loud argument right in the restaurant while there were still customers. His name is LUKE. I will not be the only one writing this review. WEWILLSPREADTHEWORDABOUTTHISMAN and so will my family, we are very well known within ALL the boroughs. He spoke to my mother and cousin with such arrogance and came off so condescending. First incident my mother said her club soda was flat which then he came back with a canned club soda and said«this will not be flat because it’s in a can, unopened» with a smirk, by the way. Second incident, my cousin asked about a chicken dish which then my mother also asked about and he said«I just literally described the dish to her» and my mother in shock had to come back with a smile and say«I wasn’t listening I was reading the menu» DISGUSTING My blood was already boiling at this point. He told us we were sitting too close to the table next to us. He asked us a million times if we wanted anything else because the kitchen was closing(trying to just kick us out basically) He was blatantly talking crap about us to his co-workers because of their mannerisms(laughing, looking over at our table, gossiping etc.) We’re not stupid or oblivious, WESEEYOU. WEALSO did not have our own personal waiter, we were dealt with at least 3 different people not including the manager. We got plenty of drinks from the bar which my cousin left them $ 50 tips at a time to include within the bill which THEYDIDNOT so who knows where that money went! AND the bathroom was ATROCIOUS. Paper everywhere, toilet seat half off and filthy! We left and he came after us OUTSIDE with the checkbook about the tip we had left because the bill was $ 203 and all they had leftover for tip was $ 5 because the rest was left to them prior. HECOUNTEDTHEMONEYINOURFACESANDSLAPPEDITCLOSEDANDSAID«that’s all you leave us with?!» I told him I was gonna Unilocal him and he says«SO UnilocalME» — doesn’t apologize, doesn’t try to redeem himself in any way! Came in to give it a try to support local businesses in my hood. Had the bone marrow which was very delicious. Then for entrée shared the paella for 2 and my bf found a hair when we were half way in. GROSS! Lost my appetite after that. The waiter apologized and the manager came over to tell us it happens from time to time and we cant inspect every dish. I was fine with the apology but there should have been some customer satisfaction like a new entrée or you take it off the bill. They offered a desert which is an insult if you ask me. Oh and the paella was just ok.

My wonderful boyfriend planned a delightful date night for us at this venue. The ambiance is very beautiful and romantic at first glimpse and the hostess and staff were very lovely as well. We had 3 tapas: mac and cheese, breaded cauliflower, and seared lamb chops. The food was delicious for the most part and I really enjoyed the tapas style. The seared lamb chops were cooked perfectly and had the right amount of tenderness. The mac and cheese with the little pieces of bacon was my absolute favorite but its definitely one of those foods you find yourself over indulging in quickly only to be really sick from eating so fast afterwards. A minor complaint I had about the mac and cheese was that it had chunks of black pepper in it and its not a pleasant experience constantly chewing on black pepper. The cauliflowers were ok; they had bread crumbs and sprinkle of parmesan over them which was a nice touch. Throughout this lovely dinner I was able to over indulge in a bottle of ‘classico chianti’ which is one of my favorite red wines and it paired beautifully with our dinner. The staff were very attentive and a little staged with their personas but I didn’t mind, it was just annoying that people who weren’t our waitress kept passing by our table and grabbing our plates any chance they could got when we weren’t even done eating.

I ate their with a friend on Thursday night(feb 11, 2016). We had seared scallops and pork bruschetta — both tasty and delicious. then we shared the paella, also tasted good. However, it was the aftermath that made me give 2 stars. My friend and I ended up having diarrhea and she immediately kept vomiting next day. She vomited the paella. And everything else. Sure this can be viral but maybe something wasn’t clean or prepares right that made us sick. My friend unfortunately missed her flight to London that morning because she was so sick! And now they’re making her pay thousands just to re-book. Needless to say, we will never go back to this place again. Pretty place too but super pricey. $ 15 for two pieces of scallops and $ 10 for three pieces of bruschetta. I’m just new to the neighborhood and someone told me to check this place out so I did. Service was good though they made a mistake with our bill(charged us extra for drinks) and I had to correct them. Just not a good night for us.

Luke is the best! My friend and I had a great dinner Wednesday night with great service, amazing food, and our server, Luke, gave us wonderful wine recommendations according to our likes and food choices. This is our favorite place to enjoy great food and wine on Bell Blvd. We prefer to visit on week nights because it can get extremely busy on weekends and the service can suffer.

A fine establishment located on the Bell Blvd. strip of eateries in Bayside. Nearby to Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse and Martha’s Bakery. On a Saturday night, this place boasts an intimate and dim lit atmosphere. My friends and I enjoyed the surroundings and the courteous waitstaff. The menu is primarily Tapas infused but there are a selection of entrees as well. It was four of us so we ordered a bunch of tapas to try. Tapas we ordered: wild mushroom brushcetta, 3 different cheese board with jam, goat cheese salad, grilled cauliflower, fries and the octopus dish. The bruschetta was very tasty and well prepared, along with everything else. The salad had an interesting dressing on it which enhanced the flavor. The octopus dish was primarily for myself and Leo, and we found it to be quite pleasing. It was fresh and prepared on a bed of onions and greens. The drinks on the table were the peach infused mojitos in a long drinking glass; I highly recommend. The main entrée of the night, shared by all 4 of us, was the Mac & Cheese dish, sans bacon. It was brought out on a skillet, nice and hot and ready to be consumed. We all had our spoons ready and quite literally summersaulted into it. The food was great, as well as the company. Our server, Luke, was very knowledgeable about the whole menu and apparently has a «30 min. conversation piece on the different types of cheese on the menu… but due to our grumbling of our stomachs, we were spared. The dessert we sampled were the cinnamon fritters, which were just 4 pieces, fittingly for all of us to try. In closing, the meal and the restaurant was great. It definitely made an impression on my friends and wife. We shall return.

I went to Fino last week with a group of 14 people(7 couples). Everything started out alright, we got our drinks, we ordered some tapas, then the disaster began. We knew the plates were going to be small, so we decided to order a few tapas and some entrees, then go from there. After we received our food, we realized we didn’t get enough, so we ordered some more food. An ENTIREHOUR went by, and not one waiter/waitress came to check on us, ask if we needed drinks, or tell us that we were going to be delayed. I thought maybe my friend forgot to put the order in, so I double checked with him and he confirmed that he did. I saw our waiter walking by so I called him over and said, «We ordered our food over an hour ago, and we still have not received it.» He responded with this dumbfounded puzzled look and said something along the lines of «Oh wow, yeah it has been quite a while.» I told him that the food was delayed so long that we didn’t want it anymore. I was expecting at minimum an apology, and if this was a good restaurant, they would have comp’d us on drinks, the delayed food, a portion of the delayed food, just something to say they were sorry. Well of course we received no apology, no comp’d food, no comp’d drinks, NOTHING. Very frustrated we decided to cut our losses and just go get food afterwards. How ridiculous is it that? You go out to eat, and you have to go get food right after? I asked the waiter for the check and he didn’t even have the guts to give us the check himself, he never thanked us, or told us to have a good night, he cowardly sent one of his female peers to give us the check. I understand that waiters work on tips, so I always tip 20% when I go out for mediocre service, and 25% if it’s great. Let me tell you, I was really upset that we even tipped 15%(The bill was almost $ 500). I know Fino has 4⁄5 stars on Unilocal, and maybe they just suck at handling big groups, but my experience was horrible and I will not be going back to Fino, that’s for damn sure.

I came here a few weeks ago on a Monday night around 7:00 p.m. for wine + appetizers and had a great time. It being a Monday, walking in with no reservation was not a problem. The setting is dark and intimate, perfect for a date or catching up with a few friends. To eat, we got the mushroom bruschetta and 3 of the cured meats which were all delicious. They have an extensive wine list which after a tough day at work I was not quite ready to navigate. I described my wine preference to the waiter & he was able to recommend a wine I really enjoyed. All in all I would definitely come back if in the Bell Blvd area & craving a good glass of wine/small plates.

(this is my third visit) very nice, intimate spot. came here with my mom and sat at the bar. Don’t judge but we had 3 bottles of ‘Deep Purple’, which was delicious! Bartenders were friendly, and attentive when our water glasses were running low. We also had 3 tapas: the brussel sprouts(with bacon), the cauliflower(with bread crumbs, and parmesean cheese), and the steak tartare. I definitely would order the two veggies again, but not the steak tartare. I don’t know if it was te presentation, but i’m used to mixing in my own tartare and not having it mixed in for me. It kind of looked like pet food, kind of grey-ish. Other than that, I will return to try other tapas and wine! (FYI my first two visits were great as well. The servers really know their wines, so you won’t be disappointed with their recommendations!)

So glad my friends and I tried this place! This will be my go-to place if I’m ever craving for some tapas around the neighborhood. The interior was decorated tastefully with Christmas décor and the dim lighting really makes it the perfect place for a date or a girls night out. We ordered 4 tapas: Seared sea scallops Steak tartare Roasted bone marrow Crispy fried potatoes + 1 entrée: Maccheroni and cheese All the dishes we ordered were pretty good. The seared sea scallops were delicious when drenched with the sauce(I think it was lemon butter sauce). I enjoyed the steak tartare but I think the mustard flavor can be overwhelming for some people. The roasted bone marrow was light buttery goodness. It tasted so good as a spread over the grilled toast. I understand how some people would think the caramelized onions overpower the bone marrow but I think they went well together. The caramelized onions and sea salt enhanced the flavor. The crispy fried potatoes came in a generous portion. They were cut into big wedges and seasoned with so much flavor. The maccheroni and cheese was heavenly because. bacon. Ok no, not just because of the bacon but also because every bite of pasta was bursting with flavor from the cheeses. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who’s going on a date or just craving for some delectable tapas. The atmosphere is great and the staff are friendly.

Here are the list of things I consumed during my night here yesterday. Mac And Cheese(mozzarella, gruyère and parm cheese) Bone Marrow Arugula Salad Wild Mushroom Risotto The Paella The Steak Scallops Some wine(forgot name) You were probably expecting me to tell you which of the items above were decent, some bland, some great. Nope, I loved everything! which is a rarity. The list i have above is a ranking of what I enjoyed. I also enjoyed the service we received. Perhaps it was because it was a bit empty. I came on a Sunday night. I truly enjoyed my experience here. Prices were reasonable. A restaurant you would think belonged in Manhattan. A Queens jewel.

I was hesitant in coming here because of the mix reviews. However we were pleasantly surprised. We came on a Saturday night around 630. It was almost empty and we had prompt seating and service. Our waiter was pleasant. We ordered most of the tapas which were good. Some a little salter than others but still good. The paella was a tad watery and the steak was just ok. I enjoyed the tapas more. The white sangria was good as well. The ambience was nice. Sort of reminds of a nyc restaurant. They have a private room in the back to rent out. The tapas are pricey. 2 decent size scallops for $ 15 or a small bowl of grilled octopus. And some tapas only came with two items like the mushroom bruchetta and the pulled pork bruchetta. Make sure you ask the waiter about the serving size. Our waiter was helpful.

Really just an OK place, with average food. If you like to eat and know a thing or two about good food, this place won’t impress you much. Who does dress your own bone marrow with caramelized onions? Not a good combo. The marrow is so delicate and the onions completely overpower it. The calamari was crispy but rubbery. Octopus was OK. If you want really good Tapas, stick to downtown or Astoria. PS. Paper napkins though? Come on now.

Holy crap. I was just there and Left after sitting there for 20 minutes. The only person who was super helpful was the hostess. We sat down and it was REALLY tight with the people on my left and right. So tight that whoever’s section that was… didnt even realize we were a separate table. The bus boy freaking gave us water… and that was it. We never had a server come up to us! We looked at our menus, knew what we wanted after 2 mins, then for the remaining 18 mins, an asian server came by to check on the tables to our left and right… and smiled, and walked off…5TIMES!!! 5!!! Then one dude came by once. I’ve had it at this point and just got up and walked off. The dude who checked his section and passed us saw us leaving and said, «thank you for dining with us!» It took a lot outa me not to curse him the hell out. I felt bad for the hostess. She noticed we left and asked, «oh, you’re leaving?» I was like, «yea» and walked out and hit up Press 195. I’m here now, and within 3 mins of looking at the menu, 2 servers came by to check on us. It sucks because I wanted to give this place a chance. I was here once before. But if we were waiting THAT long to get service… imagine how long we would have waited for our food. Hell nah. Not cool. It wasnt even as busy as the first time I came. I was nice and waited for servers to pass by 5 – 6 times… and yes, I timed the entire thing. Totally disappointed. Wish i gave NOSTARS but Unilocal won’t let me.

Fino, you are fine! This awesome wine and tapas bar is such a cute little gem in bayside. Right in the heart of bell blvd this dimly lit and very romantic place offers up a mill bajil wines and tapas… We ordered the sautéed shrimp, grilled zucchini, charcuterie, and the scallops! Everything was so delicious. The shrimp come in this little round ramekin and were sautéed and cooked to perfection. Tender and juicy on this nice summer night mmmmm. The scallops were big and came in a supreme sauce… Place was good. I’ve been to so many places like this and I always love them so they’re a win in my book… Come here for a slew of tapas before you hit up tha local bars located right across the street… 2 bottles of wine, 5 tapas plates=$ 160 Good for a date or a party of 4 – 6. I prob wouldn’t come here with a larger party due to the seating arrangements but maybe you can call ahead for accommodations.

Fino is a great spot on Bell Blvd. It is one of few more«upscale» spots. Peter the mangaer is awesome! He always assures good service. Hes suggestions are spot on and makes sure were well taken care of. There small dishes are delicious, calamari, wild mushroom brucshetta, bone marrow, octopus there all yummy. There paella is reallly good too. My favorite thing about this place is the wine a cheese. The cheese & meats come with little condiments — mustard, baby pickles, truffle honey(my fav) and a fresh jam. There selection of wines are great. Dessert & cocktails are delicious too. Overall a salad place that kind of goes forgotten in the bayside area. So if you haven’t checked it out go over there soon. Ask for Peter you’ll be in good hands.

They were all perfectly portioned. For entrée, we ordered the mac and cheese which was one of the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had and the seafood paella(highly recommend) Definitely ask Luke for his recommendation of wines. The main reason I enjoyed this place is that they were open at 10pm on a weeknight. It’s impossible to find late night dining in Queens that’s not, well, cheap or Korean BBQ. McDonald’s was open, but we decided to pass on that. As Unilocal says, the ambiance is romantic. The bar is red, the candles are red. Mellow background music and a Yankees game on the TV. It is still Bayside after all ;) But I enjoyed it, we were creaming some team by over 10 points, it was kind of hilarious. In addition to wine they also have a cocktail menu; I ordered a spicy tequila based drink with jalapenos and I enjoyed it. They also have beer(I remember Blue Moon, Nitro, Corona). I ordered the sauteed shrimp with garlic, basil and olive oil. I didn’t see the basil, but they loaded it up with garlic and that was great. Not the best shrimp in terms of quality but solid, no complaints. I also ordered the crispy fried potatoes with roasted garlic aioli and rosemary. The potatoes are cut into giant wedges, and I couldn’t really taste any garlic in the aioli, it was pretty neutral. Still not bad, I left full and that’s what matters. If I was in the area and looking for a late night spot I would absolutely come back, but I wouldn’t come out of my way.

The restaurant’s interior is very classy and nice. The service is also very good. The servers were very attentive and friendly. As for the food, we ordered the Crispy Calamari, Sea Scallops, and the Paella. The Crispy Calamari was very good and crispy, tasted just like how it should be like. As for the Sea Scallops, it was very tasty and delicious, but I was very disappointed to see only 2 scallops in this order. I expected at least 3 or 4 considering the dish to be $ 15. Last but not least, the Paella. The Paella was superb. It was very delightful. I loved that there were a lot of ingredients put into it like sausages, mussels, clams, shrimp, and chicken. I was very full after eating all that, but got sucked into dessert because who doesn’t love desserts? So I ordered the warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The presentation of it was very plain, so I didn’t really expect much. But as I took a bite of the chocolate cake and ice cream, oh my. it was delicious!!! I was super happy after that one bite and I couldn’t help but devour it. It was the perfect warm chocolate cake. I highly recommend it! All in all, I had a very good experience here, but I wished it wasn’t so pricey for the portions and location. But I do recommend going there to at least try it out :)

This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots in Bayside that somehow feels like it belongs in Manhattan. The décor is very classy, mostly dark with tints of red. Everyone who works here is also beyond attentive and nice! I’ve been here twice and the Sangria is passable(I’ve had better), but the Summer Lover cocktail(mostly watermelon based) was delicious and would recommend! Their wine selection is also very commendable. In terms of the food, there’s one thing I cannot miss everything I come here and it’s the seafood paella. Please get this and prepare to be blown away. It comes in a huge portion, definitely enough for 2 without any extra tapas, with fresh assorted shellfish and some chorizo and chicken for flavor. I’ve gotten this on the two occasions I’ve been here and always leave fully content :). All things considered, I think Fino is a tad overpriced for what it is(location especially) so have knocked a star off for it. Also, there are usually quite a number of empty tables which is a little offputting for me. But still, if you’re considering coming here please do!!! It’s definitely worth it.

It’s a good spot for queens and the atmosphere is nice for dates or Valentine’s Day. The tapas are good but they definitely need to add a few more tapas since tapas are small dishes and it’s usually good to be shared among your party and they don’t have enough to be able to pick a decent amount of tapas. We ordered the scallops which were really good and juice. The combination with the crunch of the seaweed made the perfect bite. The lamb chops were good and were cooked perfectly. The cure meat platter was just ok… only the first 2 meat were good and the rest were just eh The plat iron steak was too peppery and that was all I was able to taste. The potatoes were a little underdone but the onions had good caramelization. I don’t know what they would make warm chocolate cake with ice cream instead of chocolate molten cake!!! Having warm chocolate oozing out is way tastier! The service was pretty bad overall. We had to try to find out waiter at least 3 times and we didn’t even get water for a good 15 mins after we were seated.
