I’ve been here multiple times. The reason why I’m writing the review now is because of the amazing Mardi Gras themed party that Sangria hosted last night 2÷5÷16. This place was PACKED, the music was great, the vibe was great, the drinks were delicious and I just had a great time. The food here is also very good, especially the chorizo. I will definitely continue to come to this restaurant.

This restaurant is easy to get to and easy to park near, in Eastern Queens. The décor is noticeably classy, including some eclectic furnishings in the bathrooms. Tasty drinks, particularly the namesake sangrias(the regular is better than the slightly-stronger apricot), are a must, even for someone like me who doesn’t usually indulge. Then it’s tapas: Monchego cheese, the Serrano ham, with yummy almonds and crunchy strands were a great starter. And then, you’ve got to get some paella from there. I suggest seafood. We got the chicken, shrimp, squid and chorizo and all I can say is Wow. I like calamari but usually just fried with marinara. This squid was amazing; tender and flavorful. Best I’ve had cooked like this.

Many different types of homemade Sangria. Sampled all on the servers recommendation. All were delicious. Tapas were fresh and the staff attentive. Music was good, although as the night went on it was so loud that we couldn’t have a conversation. Will definitely go back again.

All I can say is the food is amazing. The drinks are amazing. The staff is amazing. My whole family loves Sangria, and we frequent as often as we can. Fabio is the man! If you want to have an outstanding dining experience, then come here!

I came here tonight with a Groupon and it was not worth it! It boggles my mind to think that the sangria and tapas experience for 2 is regularly $ 90. There’s no way it’s worth that. Even if you get the most expensive items from the tapas menu, the watered down sangria can’t compensate for the price. The glasses are tiny and filled with ice. Plus, you only get 4 glasses for 2 people. The food isn’t even good. I’d rather trek to the city for better tapas.

The food was really fantastic. A very nice selection of different type of Sangrias. The service was great, although the place was a bit noisy, which is because they were packed. There is a reason for that. Great food and great service. Definitely a must try.

First time eating here with my boyfriend and we were pretty excited considering tapas is our favorite and we love Spanish cuisine. The location is a nice spot, but an inconvenience with parking. The atmosphere of the place itself is lively. A little more lively than expected. Nice setup though. Music is at a reasonable level. Service was good. Not disappointed, waiters and runners were attentive. Excellent drink menu. I got a Pixie Stick and it was great. Now I was disappointed with the cooking. Especially with the Maduros. We got half of them fried up like tostones and only the other half, the way they’re supposed to be made, not too sweet. The ceviche wasn’t that excellent either. The sauce is too tomatoey. Whatever seafood was mixed in it was not cut up so we had long strands of seafood. Dessert was not delightful. Simple Nutella crepes with apples. But had a faint taste of being frozen. Prices, I will say, are decent. I would recommend the kitchen staff pay closer attention to their cooking. Probably won’t be back to eat, maybe to drink.

Sangria always seems to be pumping so decided to try it out. I assume it was for the drinks bc the food wasn’t as authentic as they claim it is. They have various kinds of sangria and they do let you taste them before ordering, especially a pitcher, which i thought was a great idea. The original was the way to go. I was disappointed in the Tostones(way too dry and not crip at all) and the Maduros were a little rubbery and not the consistency of what they should be nor were they on the sweet side. All in all… the Sangria at Sangria was Delicious.

Our evening started with a greeting from the owner: «No GroupOns on Thursday.» This was on a very rainy Thursday night with two of his 17 tables occupied(it never got any more«crowded»). This fellow obviously attended the course, «How to Lose Customers and Taint Word of Mouth.» Upon examination of our GroupOn, hurray, we qualified because we had an «old GroupOn»(around 3 months old, which is almost Mesozoic Era), which didn’t have the penurious Thursday ban. We proceeded to our Tapas and Sangria Tasting meal: Very small portions(the TIRADITODESALMON, which was $ 12, weighed about an ounce, though I am unfairly excluding the 1⁄3 ounce of onions), and mostly-tasteless food(I checked inside the Cubanito Sliders — actually, it was one slider cut in half — to see if there was truly anything between the bread slices, because it was so bland). They attempt to compensate for the lack of taste with spicy sauce accompaniments, but that helps only marginally. The best dish of the four we tried was the Chorizo, which was quite flavorful, and actually was a decent-sized portion. Also off-putting: The flight of sangria(generally tasty, but the alcohol content was perhaps 1%) was served all at once. Eight glasses of sangria arrived at our table. I guess they didn’t want to waste too much serving effort on such a busy night. Poor from beginning to end. I would never go back, not even for free. Two stars only because one of the four dishes was pretty good; otherwise, they’d get one star.

Came here the other night for dessert and sangria. Server Anthony was very attentive and knowledgable. He provided samples of various kinds of sangria and ended up getting one he recommended as «strong & sweet». He accidentally brought a half pitcher when we ordered a full one but quickly brought another half. And yes, it was very strong. 2 glasses was enough for me. Food was ok– shrimp cocktail was served with yucca chips. Skirt steak was a bit over cooked. Not a fan of the churros. They were very hard. borderline stale. Would I go back? Maybe for sangria and the sangria only.

The food is too dry and oily. We got a family meal and it had no flavor. We asked for an extra sauce and they charged us $ 3.75 for it! The beer was $ 10 a bottle! Too much money for something we didn’t enjoy!

Drove by Sangria last Friday night and it was buzzing so we came tonight to check it out. Wow am I glad we did. The décor is lovely. You feel like you were transporter to a small tapas bar in Spain. The low lighting and Latin music is very romantic. The glass walls were open for an alfresco feel. Now for the food — fabulous. We wanted sangria and were offered free samples of each of the four served this evening. We selected the mango sangria — yum. For apps we had the manchego, Serrano ham and sausage platter with almonds. Perfect. Then we had the Datiles Rellenos, dates wrapped in ham. Wow. For dinner we shared the Paella Valenciana with chicken, shrimp, octopus and chorizo. I highly recommend all the dishes we had. I can’t wait to go back and try all the other dishes.

Visited this restaurant to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We were a party of 7 and had a wonderful experience. The weather was gorgeous so the big open window fronts in the restaurant brought in nice light and a welcomed breeze. The service was great and the food was excellent. We got four different tapas items and each decided to get one paella plate per two people. It was more than enough and the different flavors of sangria were delicious. The owner was so nice and even threw in a free pitcher of sangria of our choice. I highly recommend this place for dinner, drinks at the bar, or whatever you decide to get there.

This place has delicious food and great service! We came here because of a Groupon deal that included two flights of sangria(4 glasses of different flavored sangria) and two tapas per person. The interior is beautiful and unique. I would give them 5 stars, but like others who have been here, I feel the menu is overpriced. I’ve been to tapas bars and restaurants in the city that have larger portioned tapas for the same price. Despite the overpriced menu, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Spanish food or those who’ve never tried it before. It’s worth the splurge!

Came here on a whim a few nights ago and service was amazing. We were seated promptly and our waitress provided us with a tasting of all the types of sangria they had. Hands down apricot/peach was the best! For tapas, we ordered the burger sliders and risotto fritters. Burger sliders were perfect, just not very unique in regards to taste. Your typical slider, albeit very good just nothing special. I especially loved the risotto fritters! Crispy on the outside with the perfect melt in your mouth mushroomy cheesy risotto center. For dessert, we choose the churros. Again nothing special but very good. 4 stars for pricing as I did think it was a bit pricy for the amount of food you get. I mean $ 6 for 4 pieces of churros? You do the math. Food was a 3 star(nothing mind blowing), price 2 stars, sangria 5 stars!

Almost didn’t come here tonight because of all the negative reviews but we were tired and wanted someplace local. boy am I glad we came! This place is great! To start I asked about their different sangria flavors and our waiter quickly returned with a complimentary tasting flight of all 4 of their flavors. I went with traditional. We ordered so many different dishes, the mussels, the calamari, the chorizo, croquettas de jamon, platter of manchego, fuet, and serrano, yuca frita and finally the cubanito sliders. with each dish that came out my husband and I were waiting for them to drop the ball but everything was delicious. The yuca frita was better than my favorite Cuban restaurant in the city. Even the service was perfect, our waiter, FaVio was helpful and funny. My husband asked for half and half with his coffee so Favio brought out heavy cream and added it to the milk that was already on our table. My husband was thrilled with this because usually when he asks for half and half he gets a blank stare followed by «we don’t have that»! For dessert I had the tres leeches, it happens to be my very favorite cake so while it was delicious, it was not the best I’ve ever had, but I will definitely order it again when we return. oh and we will definitely be returning.

This has been on my list to try for the longest. I made a walk-in reservation on Wednesday for tonight’s girls night out dinner and the hostess was sweet to seat us at the benches which we had our own section. Our server Kenia greeted me first as I arrived early. As my other two chicas showed up, Kenia made a trip to our table and reintroduced herself to my company. She asked if it was our first time at Sangria which we popped our cherries tonight hehe. We got to try four samples of different fruit infused sangrias. The sister that’s drinking got rosada as I got the white peach. Since my friends couldn’t eat any meat and we tried some of seafood tapas. Tapas: Croquettes de Mariscos, Risotto Fritters, Caribbean Style Chimi Sliders(just me), Tiradito de Salmon(just my friends), Yucca Bravas, and Fried Calamari Dessert: Pastel Tres Leches… oh boy, oh boy yummmmmmy Great service and even at some point fist pound Kenia for the delicious food :-P Definitely a great atmosphere and service! Its amazing to have a tapas spot in my neighborhood!

The restaurant looks nice and classy, but I wasn’t a big fan of the food or the service. We ordered a few dishes and they were mostly misses and maybe one hit. The mussels were ok. I hated the meatballs. They came with olives that really overpowered the taste of the dish. The sliders were very meh. The fries were pretty good. After so many mediocre dishes, I don’t know why I decided to try desert. I had the caramel flan, and it was probably the blandest flan I ever had.

Walked in early on a Sunday evening and sat at the bar. Football was on which was a plus and pleasant surprise. The décor was nice but I thought the bar area was pretty bland. It took the bartender literally 10 minutes to approach me seated on the side of the bar which had nobody else there. Strike one! Once she had finally come over she provided samples of the multiple types of sangria they served. I went traditional as it tasted the best but wasn’t anything to get excited about. Personally, I am all about service and waiting for 10 minutes to be acknowledged put us off to a bad start. It would take a lot to get us back on track. When approached I was asked if I would like to see a menu which i indeed did. Once my drink was served there was no menu in sight and I waited a good 5 minutes before I had to ask to see it. Strike two! The food was taking a while and I didn’t mind. I was there to have a few drinks, watch the game, enjoy the company and sample the menu. But once I realized it was going to be a while I asked for some plantain chips which I saw in the menus thinking it would be quick. They should be serving complimentary with the drinks but that is another conversation all together. The food came out, no plantain chips. The Cuban sliders were very good. The fried calamari and potato croquettes were«okay» at best and nothing you will remember. After all the apps were gone I had to ask about the plantain chips. Strike three!!! It’s a local place. Parking is bad. Service is lacking and the food is nothing that your going to rave about. If you live within a few block radius, I could see it being a good fit for a drink but other then that, there are better options not too far away.
