The place to go for Greek gyros. Take this timely tip – when you make that R train trip – this is the cart to sup and sip. Whether lamb or chicken, these guys do a snappin’ gyro. Kabobs, meat-over-rice platters too of course. Dirty Water dogs. No sausages but that’s okay. $ 1 sodas, fries available with everything. Salads. Fruits. Really, when you come up from the subway station right there at 4th Ave, its the smell of that Greek gyro which covers the entire intersection like a warm blanket. Very welcoming! Located hard by the Rite-Aid. Extremely well-lit and safe now that Rite-Aid has remodeled their exterior lighting. Lines are never too big. Prices excellent: $ 4 gyro, maybe $ 5. You can’t beat it! Its the best and most convenient hot meal in the area. I’d take Halal Mat every time over ‘Original Pizza’ on the corner(bleh). Sakman’s is there too of course(and they’re da bomb) but Sakman’s can be super-crowded now that they’ve rennovated/expanded. No, no, no – dismiss these other options. Halal Mat must be your first choice. They get my firmest endorsement. I must have had 25+ gyros from there so far.
