Stopped by around 8 in the morning and checked out the grounds. There is a parking lot and a picnic pavilion with one large overflowing trash barrel(early am they may not have had time to empty it). The grass needed mowing but it has been raining almost every day. The playground was in good working order and even had a port-o-let located on the grounds near it. The drinking fountain had caution tape around it but no out of order sign so I wouldn’t risk it. The thing that alarmed me was the unfenced section next to the public works facility next door. They operate heavy machinery and have tons of hazards on the property and not one danger or caution sign near the gap in the brush that divides the two properties. They do have some kind of cement thing there but curious children could easily get around it and wander over to the site and be seriously injured. I really think BREC needs to address this. This park has youth league sports games that utilize the indoor basketball court and outdoor lighted baseball field. I did not get to see the newly renovated rec center or the indoor basketball court, but the seating in the round outside it was very nice.
