This was my first time here, but my husband used to come here often. Let me set the scene: think back to 2000-iPhones didn’t exist, MP3 players were brand new and CDs were King. This is where you went. Music and movies as far as the eye can see, sprinkled with tshirts and novelty items from your favorite bands and movies. I looked for a movie while mi esposo looked for tshirts. I got bored pretty quickly once I realized I was not going to find a copy of Sweet Home Alabama, but he was having the time of his life(thus the four star review). He finally found two shirts he loved, we paid, and we left.

Its the former Warehouse Music, just off College next to Chilli’s. One of the best places for media, used or new, in town. One of the only places, too. They sell all sorts of apparel, ramune, accessories, etc. The service is pretty good, they used to clean discs but lately they sometimes don’t(depending who you talk to). Prices and selection are hard to beat in town. They also support local artists, which is cool. Now people just need to support their local retail media store(*hint.). The used DVD/CD/BD section is the main draw. Despite their collections of related clothes, figures, and every kind of other assorted stuff, they don’t sell video games; kinda a drawback. They have a frequent turnaround of stock, especially Pre-owned, so stop in regularly to check it out.

I love to shop at FYE. They have so many things I love like: Sunglasses, Cool Tees, Doctor Who and Marvel merch, movies, music and games. Many of these items wind up on sale and sometimes the price is as low as 25 cents. But there is a catch… You gotta sift through the plethora of unorganized whatever you are seeking to find your prize. I braved such a hunt yesterday and scored licensed Doctor Who and Bob Marley Tees, but the hunt for my size was long and tedious. In the end I made sure all Doctor Who and Marvel Tees were together(though I would not wear one, my OCD forced me to group the Frozen Tees as well). The people are laid back and helpful from behind the counter but stock organization obviously isn’t a super strict policy. That being said the huge inventory and variety of items would take a much bigger crew to keep perfectly in place and prices would go up. So, I am happy to hunt through the chaos and pluck my find from the endless racks and bins to save a few bucks. If you visit the store and notice all the Doctor Who and Marvel Tees are grouped together in order of size. Your Welcome.

This is my favorite place to stop when I’m driving through Baton Rouge. It’s a great multimedia store with lots of new and used items such as vinyl, cds, dvds and other stuff. I come for the vinyl. The store has a good selection of new vinyl and used cds and dvds. I also dig the location right off of the interstate.

Being from Dallas, I am used to Movie Trading Company. FYE does not have a prominent existence in Dallas, if any. They went out with Warehouse Music, Sam Goody and all those other music places. FYE is a music and music-lover’s paradise! They sell new and used music and movies along with movie memorabilia(t-shirts, posters, etc) making it a great destination when shopping for that movie buff! They have a great bargain selection upon entering the store making it easy to find great deals! The music and movies are alphabetized and categorized by genre which also makes shopping easier. There always seems to be a neat deal at the register, $ 5 for a specific movie with purchase. They sell record players and vinyls. What makes FYE appealing for me is that they buy, sell and trade. When you sell your movies or music they offer you cash or store credit. The store credit is the best way to go as they offer you a higher dollar amount for your trade-ins. FYI for FYE: They DONOT purchase gaming systems. They do not buy trade-ins after 7PM. The staff is typically helpful and friendly. I have been disappointed on a few occasions but it doesn’t stop me from coming back. Overall they have a great selection at a great price! I’m not sure if this is the only store of its kind in Baton Rouge but it’s my go-to for now.
