Stopped here on a trip to New Orleans and grabbed two daquiris. Both very weak and will probably not go back.

It’s a grimey dive bar that has wickedly strong drinks. My personal fav is the Tropicalada with an extra shot. Jukebox, dartboards, and pool tables are fun extras.

If you like Daiquiries and LSU this place is a must stop and go.

4 stars may be a stretch but that’s right I said it. Daquiries are still a bit of a novelty for me as a life long Northerner. They represent swaying palm trees, hammocks, and sandy beaches. In LA they are served at actual DRIVETHRUS! I mean… you can buy an alcoholic beverage and DRIVE away with it in your hand with the straw sticking out… as long as the paper remains on the top of the straw it is not considered an open container(as if one could not simply remove the lid and sip their way to a drunken brain freeze). I marvel at the lack of stuffy blue laws we suffer from up North and embrace this freedom that the south has provided. I digress. French Quarter Daquiries is NOT a drive thru but they do a healthy to-go business. The local coupon books almost always sport a two large daquiries for the price of one and we’re talking Big Gulp proportions. It’s amazing. I don’t think that I would actually hang out in the bar as it seems to have that loud, angry, boy music playing all the time but the bartender’s card me(which I love) and they are super friendly… and at the end of your transaction with the friendly staff you walk away with a vacation in a big ass cup. I can smell the suntan lotion just thinking about it.
