I’ve been slacking on this review. Stayed here in January 2014 for the Louisiana Marathon. Choose it because it wasn’t far from the race but it was decently inexpensive. I knew what to expect going into it — and it made my expectations(actually the room we were in was bigger then I expected). The rooms were clean and check in and out was super easy. This weekend we were here was a girls weekend for my mom and I. She came out from Colorado to support me while I ran my third state in my quest to run a marathon in each state. My mother is quite the chatty women — and she befriended all the front desk people right away. They were so sweet and gave us lots of advice on things to do, where to eat, places to see. Especially those friend desk in the evening — thanks for keeping my mom company as she chatted your ear off I’m sure! I’d stay here again without a doubt — it was a convenient location, decent price, clean rooms — I was set!

Overall it was ok, didn’t really expect much, only was there really late in the night to crash. Morning buffet was decent, a little old and dusty.

Nice lobby, friendly staff, clean rooms comfortable bed. I’m only giving it 3 stars because the bathrooms have not been updated and the price is too high. We paid $ 94 for a double and I have paid less for much nicer rooms in the past. Bottom line, bathrooms need updating, the Kleenex dispenser was empty and the price was too high.

Pretty standard motel stay for me when I was traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday. My partner picked out this place because it seemed to be the best rated in Baton Rouge. The location is pretty convenient off I-10 and there are a lot of restaurants nearby, including a strip club, if that’s what you’re into. Check-in was easy and quick late at night. Our room smelled a bit like cigarettes, but maybe that’s from pre-smoking ban days because the establishment is currently smoke-free. It certainly holds up to the«Suites» in the name — the space was a large, open-floor plan style with the king, couch, coffee table, and desk all in one large room. The sink was set off-center of a long countertop, creating a lot of space for toiletries. The toilet and bath were in a separate room and clean with good water pressure. The bed was firm, but I slept solidly after a long day of work and driving. However, my partner had trouble sleeping — apparently some of the other guests got home late and talked loudly in the halls and he could hear when the strip club was closing. I gave an extra star for a great continental breakfast. They offer the usual pastries/bagels, dry cereal, fruit, individual milks, yogurts, and juices, but they also had scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. I would’ve poured a Belgian waffle, but the appliance sat empty with no batter in sight. Overall, good place to stop in for the night.

Its a little hard to find the first time. But once you know where it is you appreciate that it is a couple of blocks away from high volume traffic. Place was clean and appeared to be relatively new. Parking was adequate. Staff was helpful. My first room was missing the remote TV controller. Lamps on the side of the bed were not plugged in because all the outlets were already populated. The phone did not work either. I discovered all this after I had thrown my stuff in the room and went out to eat.(Hotel is ideally situated for a variety of choices to eat.) The desk clerk offered to move me upstairs and I was moved into their two room suite. I had a remote! One for two TVs seems silly, but perhaps they are suffering from«walking remotes.» Once again, the lamps were not plugged in because the outlets were already full, but the phone worked! All rooms have the gawd-awful under the window a/c units. But it operated based upon a digital thermostat on the unit you could set. It shut itself off when the temperature was reached. Unlike some of this style a/c unit, it was NOT«noise obnoxious.» I expected a Continental style breakfast, but it was better than a minimal offering. It had scrambled eggs, hot sausage and a waffle maker. It was actually well done. I like more fruit than an orange and apple, but all-in-all, it was very adequate. Exercise area is small, but adequate. It has only one treadmill and I ended up waiting about an hour before I could get some treadmill time. It appears all the equipment is maintained and kept clean. Bottom line, it was priced OK. It was clean, the amenities were adequate, the breakfast A-OK too. The staff was pleasant and helpful. So why only 3-stars? Simple. There is a quality control problem looming on this property. One could sense it as all my problems in my first room were evidently not new or surprising, but I saw no evidence that the clerk was recording them to get fixed. As new as the property is, the litany of deficiencies has not aggregated into a debacle yet, but it’s coming unless they get their arms around all the irritating nitnoids.

Stay here on business every other month. Rooms are always clean and beds are comfortable. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Close to I-10 access. Great hotel for an overnight stay or if visiting in Baton Rouge. Hot breakfast in the morning is very nice
