I give it three stars out of generosity of spirit, namely, the fact that I’m grateful that there is a store selling some kosher wines near where I live. This store used to be owned by the loveliest, kindest Vietnamese family, but sadly, they moved back to Texas after Hurricane Sandy. Current ownership is not all that talkative, friendly, or helpful. You have to go in knowing what you need or want. The store is not particularly well-lit, which makes browsing the aisles and the selection enormously difficult. I go in knowing what I’m purchasing, and leave it at that. Bartenura Moscato d’Asti, Baron Herzog Jeunesse, Glenmorangie scotch(OU certified), and an OU-certified Pomegranate Wine are my usual purchases. I generally come here when I’m in a pinch for kosher wine and some schnapps for shabbat or the Jewish holidays. Prices leave a lot to be desired, and are generally 2 to 3 dollars more per bottle than what I’d otherwise pay. I purchased a bottle of Glenlivet for my father’s birthday at the last minute(some son I am, right? Although the old man loved the after-effects of 18 year aged fine distillery scotch that went down as smooth as silk).
