This will be my last stop at this location. It’s convenient on my way home from Smithville to Round Rock. What was wrong this Time? Must have been 7 employees, 6:30 Sunday evening, walked right up to the counter and gave my order. 5 piece spicy with mashed potatoes and beans & rice. Sorry we have no mashed potatoes. Really? Okay just beans and rice. I got my chicken and cup and all of the soft drinks were down! All of them! None of the chicken was spicy, not one piece! Similar stuff has happened the last two visits. I won’t be back!

I am currently sitting here dining in. I got my food and it was all cold. The employees we sitting around on their phones. The food tasted awful because it was cold and past the holding time. I only ate it cause I had paid for it and didn’t want to waste it. This is by far, the worst Popeyes I’ve ever ate at! I’d rather drive to Austin to eat it!

Have you ever been to a Popeyes Restaurant and had good customer service? Neither have I until now. I was on my way home back to Houston, TX from Austin and decided I deserved a greasy meal after finishing an Ironman Triathlon the day before. I walk in and was greeted immediately. I went ahead and placed an order of their 5pc Spicy Chicken Tenders with Gravy. The food came out very quickly, I immediately noticed that there were only 3pc Chicken Tenders. I started to look for my receipt to verify that I had been charged for the 5pcs of tenders, it turned out that I was not. It’s fine, I wasn’t bothered by it and asked if I could be charged for 2 additional tenders. The manager on duty went ahead and gave me the 2 other tenders and apologized for the misunderstanding. If it were any other Popeyes they would have gladly taken my money. I finally sat down and digged into my meal. I opened up my container of gravy and found white cream gravy. Never have I seen cream gravy at Popeyes before and never have they suggested it as an option. I was expecting their delicious Cajun Spicy Gravy. I tasted it and it was okay but the tenders really pair much better with the Cajun Gravy. Instead of saying anything about the White Gravy, I went to the cashier and asked her to charge me for a side of their Cajun Gravy. She then went to the back and filled up a small container of it and told me it’s all good, no charge. That was awesome. Every single time I have visited a Popeyes in Houston they have always charged me extra for the gravy. I always thought that was stupid and didn’t understand why. I commend this location on their friendliness and customer service.

Here is my question … how can someone possibly dislike Popeye’s? It is so good and some of the best chicken around I think. It IS the best fast chicken for sure! I love their spicy chicken — it’s my favorite! The tenders particularly are perfect. The mashed potatoes with that cajun gravy, those red beans and rice … how do they get it that creamy?! … the biscuits with the honey … mmmm — those are a dessert on their own! This location is convenient. It is right off of 71 in Bastrop across from Bucee’s. I suggest skip going to Buccee’s and just stop here. This is a newer Popeye’s location. The bathrooms are clean and they have one of the new soda fountains, which are fun! Love that chicken at Popeye’s!

Hot and crispy!!! Delicious! Can’t beat the $ 5 box deal– 2 pieces of ckn(or 3 tenders), plus 2 sides and a biscuit.

I am used to the Austin locations that are open until 11pm. I stopped on my way home @10:30pm and this place was closed.

Don’t bother. Went through the drive thru at 8PM. No other drive thru customers. Maybe five customers dining inside. Was told it would be 4 minutes for non spicy wings for my kid. 17 minutes later the manager brought my order out. When I inquired about how long my order took, she stated she was sorry for the wait and turned and walked off. WTF?! I called the 1 – 800 number and voiced my concern. Three weeks later no one has contacted me about my experience. I’ll stick with the other three chicken restaurants in town.

Ok, it’s Popeyes, so the food is as I expected it. My major complaint is that you should never have someone working the drive thru who, English is their second language and they have a speech impediment. Took me about three tries to figure out what he has asking every time he asked a question.

We went the first week or two and assumed it would be great. It’s Popeyes after all. We got a large family order and it was about 40 bucks. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the staff were very nice and friendly. However, it was early evening and every piece was old and dried up. The biscuits were hard and we didn’t get the honey I requested. My husband loves the red beans and was happy with them but I thought they were old. I was also disappointed in the mash taters. We were so excited about having a Popeyes but we have not been back.
