I spent 2 days here and it was great! The room was spotless and the décor had a nice, rustic feel. The free breakfast in the morning was an actual breakfast(eggs, bacon, hash browns, today, and coffee), cooked to order. It was a great value. I’m so glad I found this place. Will definitely be staying here again!

The room was very clean and loved the rustic decorations. They offered free breakfast for two which was great 2 eggs, bacon and pancakes. The breakfast was excellent. Very friendly staff and we will stay here again.

THEFOODSERVICEISHORRIBLE. New manager has changed menu and Portions. Who wants to pay $ 13+ for a catfish meal and get 4 quarter size pieces. The portions are sized for kid meals. Chicken has no flavor. The receptionist are rude and very stuck up. DEFINITELYWILLNEVERGOBACKORRECOMMENDTHISPLACE. Please pass on the word to everyone you know… DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEOR $$ HERE.

Stayed at Lake Bastrop Lodge before(a year ago) and it was a pretty pleasant experience. This time around — we checked in late on Friday night and discovered that the remote for AC/Heating unit(you cannot operate it without the remove) had bad batteries. There was no one at the front desk and the temperature outside went down to 32 degrees. Needless to say, we had to go to Walmart at 1:00 am to get batteries and the screw driver for the remote. Really grateful for the Walmart — overwise we would of slept in our jackets! The room didn’t have any soap either. The front desk person didn’t seem terribly apologetic about our heater incident from the night before. Based on my experience with the customer service and condition of the room –I don’t think I will be staying at this hotel again.

This was an adorable hotel for a very reasonable price. We stayed in the lodge section and were pleased with the room. Quiet. Comfy. Clean. Air conditioner worked great(we like it cool at night). Restaurant was closed so no review on that. This reminded us of a bed and breakfast. Pool looked great but we didn’t get our feet wet. Maybe next time!

On Average, this was an acceptable business. The rooms were clean and the bed was great. The only negatives about the room were one tiny waste basket, no microwave and warm showers. If you want to take advantage of the free Wi-Fi, book a room close to the office. We were over the restaurant and couldn’t get a signal. The lodge offers free breakfast for 2 every morning unless you have a groupon that offers a $ 20 dining room credit for 2 days. You can’t have both and you have to use the $ 20 credit all at once. I decided to use my credit for breakfast… this got me 2 omelets and 2 cups of coffee. It was suppose to come with potatoes which I received after I asked for them. The omelets looked like my 3 year old made them. It was explained to me by the waitress that the cook was new and she had to cook one and he cooked the other one. Not a pleasant dining room experience. ! If it wasn’t for the dining options and breakfast experience, this is a nice place to stay if you don’t need internet.

First, I guess I should admit it was a Mother’s Day weekend organized by, and spent with our two kids and our two grand kids, so just about anything would have been all good. I thought the place was really very nice. The whole facility has had a recent, very well done remodel. Nice furnishings, good bedding, ductless AC, LED lighting, heat pump hot water heater — all stuff I appreciate. Very pleasant staff(a shout out to Vicki, who was extremely accommodating), a really decent restaurant(we had a great home cooked breakfast), nice pool and a rather large balcony for us to gather and hangout on. We kinda spread out and owned the place. The Barn Swallows and the gophers, which the owners don’t discourage, entertained us all. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

Incredibly terrible service. We stayed here during a MS150 ride recently. A good nights sleep was one of the only TOP things needed. 1.) After a long day of riding 75+ miles, we arrived after dark to the Hotel. The extra sleeping quarters(pull out bed from couch) was spingie’ and uneven. It was so bad, we used about 7 pillows for each person to sleep on top off so it would be bearable. 2,) The big problem came when we needed something basic like sleep. It seems that the units where we stayed(separate from main office), were acquired from a different owner. It seems it was updated but the structure of the middle floor was not redone or would pass a city code. Meaning all night long until late and next morning, it sounded LITERATELY like someone weighing 300lbs with biker cleats was walking back and fourth upstairs. This was non-stop and had to use ear plugs that helped somewhat. Now, I know that it probably was not someone that heavy with biker cleats on. I sure in the hell wouldn’t want to wear them all night in a hotel after riding. So it’s a structural issue. Very seldom have I been in a Hotel that I could hear people stomping around upstairs. 3.) Our door key stopped working after coming back late from a dinner. We were told to COMEBACKTOTHEOFFICE to re-key it. Was a little walk at night. I would have thought since they didn’t key it correctly, they would come with a working one. 3.) Restaurant /Service was lacking to say the least. When we order French toast or Pancakes, I would assume they would also bring syrup and not have to wait to ask for it 15 minutes later. When someone orders biscuits, you would think butter is a given need… No WiFi… Maybe I’m expecting to much here. 4.) Leaving something at the hotel. Well, this is what made me spend my personal time to warn others. I called and explained that we might have left something. I asked if they could mail it(I would pay for postal of course), she seemed confused and I was told she doesn’t think they do that. ??? What? She said people usually just come back to pick it up. ?? Really? She told ME to call back later and talk to someone else, instead of just getting my contact info and looking into it. I guess my expectations were a little to high… Update: Called back and maybe spoke to someone different that was helpful in checking to see if it was in lost/found. Took my contact info. Not found, but will call if it ever is.
