Bass Lake Water Sports & Boat Rentals

Had a great time on bass lake over the weekend thanks to their service. They were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely go back!

My family and I recently visited Bass Lake for the first time. As part of our trip I decided to rent a ski boat and try the water sports out with the kids. We had a great time thanks to Bass Lake Boat Rentals. The business is conveniently located at Pines Village and the rental process was one of the easiest and by far the most helpful, responsible, friendly staff I have ever experienced in equipment rental. They were extremely accommodating on every level. Because of weather conditions and travel plans I changed my reservation three times and each time they did so happily without penalty and even offered suggestions. We had planned to rent a boat for only a couple of days but had such a great experience we decided to go an extra day. The staff was very responsive despite the number of people seeking help. When I called someone ALWAYS picked up despite how busy they were. When we needed extra equipment or left something up at the rental office the staff did not walk but ran to get Ilya what we needed and refused to let us do it. I witnessed this pattern not only with me but other customers each day we were there. We rented a total of 3 days and over that time I met more than 8 members of their staff including the manager and ALL of them were friendly, helpful, and eager to make sure our needs were met. 5 Stars all the way around for this group!!! We are making Bass Lake an annual family tradition and can’t wait to get back next year!

We rented a patio boat on Monday and it went perfectly. The kids had a great time and the transaction went smoothly.
The jet ski rental on Wednesday? Less smooth. We got there a half hour early like they suggested and went through the process of getting trained on the jet ski. The lady who did the first training told me there was a timer on the jet ski so we would know when we’re done. Perfect! I mean, who wears a watch nowadays, right?
When we got down to the dock we waited for a while because they were getting a couple of families ready on their boats. When the gentleman started giving us pointers on the jet ski he pointed out that the timer was at 853.9 and we needed to have it back at 854.9. Great! I took my first daughter out came back when it read 853.2, took my second daughter out and brought her back when it read 853.6. I called out for my son to join me for the last stretch and the guy told me my time was already up. I asked him what he was talking about because the timer wasn’t up yet and he told me it was just a reference point and he had already extended my time by a half hour. What?! I asked him what time it was and he said 3pm. How did you extend my time a half hour when our reservation was for 2pm and we didn’t get on the jet ski til after 2? He told me: «I don’t know what to tell you.»
Unfortunately my son who wanted to go last to build his anticipation didn’t get to ride and was just crushed and they wouldn’t let me pay to extend. It’s ridiculous that you tell people that there is a timer to go by twice before they rent and then tell them «it’s just a reference» at the end. I felt like I got jobbed. I run my own business and if I treated a client like that they would fire me. Justifiably.
So it was a mixed experience, but the jet ski experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I don’t see myself going back. If you’re going to go, I would just recommend tracking your own time so you don’t get hosed. Do NOT listen to them when they tell you there is a timer on the jet ski. I don’t know what it actually measures but it doesn’t measure your time.

The owner «will» offer golf carts in the future still does not address the rude and non helpful staff!!!

The boss of this business is pretty nice. After negotiating with him, he refund me and my friend total 310 dollars and send us some t-​shirts. What’s more, they write an apologize letter to me with all their stuffs signatures, which makes me feel pretty warm.
Even though the first experience was not good, but the boss handled my problem well and did give me a great solution. I like this company, and probably I will back to there again. Now it’s time to say I can definitely recommend this company to all my friends! p. s. I will post the t-​shirts and letter that they email me today…
