This place was fabulous! Basalt is the ultimate small town experience. Our guide, Matt, was very knowledgeable and showed us a really great time! Best fishing experience ever!

The fly shop and the store are nice respectable people. My guide for two years was Thomas and he was great. I also had Ollie who taught me a great deal and he was good too. I had a guide take a drift boat down the Roaring Fork and when I caught a large white fish he said, «oh you can feed an entire trailer park of hispanics with that one.» I guess he forgot I was hispanic or forgot my name. I just let it go and I even gave him a good tip. I think about it years later and wish I would have said something. I forgot his name. Just if you go ask for Thomas or Ollie because they are great guides.

Love the shop! But watch out for the guides on the river. Dropped a group of six right on top of us. The guides were nice about infringing on us. Maybe it’s because I was wearing a Taylor Creek fly shop hat.

Spent a morning learning to fly fish with Molly + Brandon. Went with my Dad(who is in his late sixties) and my sons(ages 5 and 7). Both guides were knowledgeable, professional, and fun. Molly was infinitely patient with my sons and really made the trip special for them. Brandon was an excellent teacher for the grown-ups. We caught(and released) more fish than I can count and really had an excellent time. Highly recommended.

Great shop right in Basalt to hit on your way up the ‘Pan. Up to the day fish reports, and solid advice on how different sections are fishing. Our group had a couple of great afternoons with Molly(and her most amazing cookies), Brandon, and Willy. All were knowledgeable, patient, and friendly guides.
