Thrifty Treasures is a unique find. Followed by another unique find and so on and so on. It’s truly unbelievable! These small business owners also have Sam’s Grill & Pizza two doors down. So, here’s my two cents. Walk in and order some lunch or dinner at Sam’s( )and then walk over to Thrifty Treasures and check it out. Don’t let the lacy curtains in the front window deter you. Walk in. The family will be more than happy to let you look around and take it all in. Trust me, I need to go back with a plan of attack for my next visit. The shop is loaded with goodies! And there’s more where this comes from. They have shopped all over the world over the years and their beautiful collection ended up here. Some cool finds included a leather matador framed picture. The picture of the matador is on an actual piece of leather. It’s cool. I saw some different swords and knives. They have a ton of glass! Missing a unique piece to complete an old collection. This may be the place! If you don’t see it… ask. They have more items offsite. I stumbled across a ceramic beer stein from 1977 when Notre Dame won the Cotton Bowl with the stats printed on it. This was back when Dan Devine was Head Coach. Shhh. Don’t tell my hubby or I am going to have no choice but to buy that item. ;-) I found some beautiful antique pieces too. A wooden tea cart. So pretty. A rocking chair. Small curio cabinets. It’s a paradise for some people. I won’t lie though. I have friends that would not be a fan. There is a ton of stuff. Most of it is very cool. But this isn’t Macy’s. It’s setup more like a resale store. Time will be spent to inspect all the interesting wares. But let me be clear. This is not a resale store. I really felt like I walked into a treasure chest once I started to walk around. A little overwhelming and they could probably move some things around to eliminate some of the cluttered feeling. But, I could pick things up and not knock anything over. Very cool, Thrifty Treasures. I’ll be back.
