My son was a student at National Karate from 2003 until 2008. I joined myself in 2005. We both left when we moved to California in 2008 — me having just earned the last belt prior to first degree blackbelt, and my son one belt behind.(One of my biggest regrets with moving is that we weren’t able to earn our blackbelts and continue beyond) National Karate was probably one of the best athletic experiences in my life. Over the course of a bit over three years, I ended up in the best shape of my adult life, gained valuable skills, and had a lot of tiring fun. The instructors there were great. Alas, one of my favorites has since left National Karate, and another is now in charge of a different school. But all of the other instructors, assistant instructors and students were great. And the whole system treats students and parents with respect, and teaches them to respect others and only use«Might for Right.»
