After reading all of the positive Unilocal reviews we decided to stop here on our way home from the river and we’re so glad we did!!! Food was delicious ~ I highly recommend the shredded beef flauta or carne asada burrito. We would have given 5 stars if they had margaritas…

Awesome spot with amazing food and friendly customer service. All the guys in my group had burritos which were all amazing and very reasonably priced. Not the best spot for large groups as it’s pretty tight inside. I sat next to one of the regulars who was having some kind of soup that looked amazing, I didn’t see that on the menu though so we asked him what it was. They have a special soup they only serve on Tuesdays so if you’re here on a Tuesday get the soup, it looked bomb.

We were heading back from Vegas with our travel trailer in tow, when my wife pulled up Lola’s on her smart phone. We’ve been trying to stop at local restaurants lately, leaving fast food for another time & waist line. Well Lola’s was great to put it mildly! Family Run, Friendly, Fast, a Value with Fresh Tasty Food. They are located in a shopping center area with great parking for trailers, motorhomes, etc. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Try the chili verde burrito with green sauce over the top. Mucho Good!

Great food, customer service and atmosphere. We had the chilaquiles and enchiladas verdes… not too spicy, just right! Highly recommend both! If you are hungry and driving through town, this is a great local hotspot!

This place is the real deal and has some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. The Chile Relleno I got was so full of flavor and stuffed with cheese and battered and fried with a nice sauce over it and the beans were incredible and I usually don’t eat beans at most Mexican restaurants but this was made from scratch. All the food is homemade and the Carne Asada taco was made from marinated steak and grilled to perfection. Also I tried their Shredded Beef Sopes and OMG it was the best tasting Sopes I have ever eaten. This place is a true gem in Barstow and I can’t wait to go back and eat their again with my family. We really love this place!

Thanks Unilocalers, would never have found this cute and tasty Mexican restaurant without you. Was headed back from Vegas at 8am, looking for some grub and pulled over to find this place, already bustling with the locals. Shredded beef was unlike any I’ve ever had — so fresh and flavorful — and a great portion! Chips were amazing too.

Great little find! Prices were great. Staff friendly. Décor simple and nice. Pleasantly surprised at the washroom except no seat covers. They close early so we were lucky to get in before closing. The only bad is location as we were approached by pan handlers in the parking lot.

Food is okay. Expensive for what you get honestly. And what kind of «Mexican» restaurant doesn’t serve horchata?

really awesome hole in the wall with amazingly fresh authentic food. I only wish the portions were bigger because I can really throw it down when it comes to chilaquiles. stopped here on our way from sf to las and was jonesin for some non-fast food fast food. if that makes sense. super close to the freeway. the people here are really nice and though they don’t have aguas frescas I’m really feeling the cucumber water. don’t mind the crackish strip mall– totally worth it. complimentary chips and salsa(bomb salsa roja) and the verde sauce for the chilaquiles were absolutely perfect. the plate came with carne asada and rice and beans. you can pay a little extra for an egg– do it! the chicken flautas were good, too! definitely recommended if you find yourself in the area.

I don’t give out 5-stars…ever. Lola’s tastes like home to me, her homemade salsa & chips cannot be matched, and I e tried all over North America! Child rellanos, «Gloria’s especial» w/marinated asada and salad… OMG. I’m not kidding you’ll never rate better and I can vouch for every item on her menu

I’ve stopped at Lola’s Kitchen a few times when driving through Barstow to destinations in Utah. It’s by far the best choice of the places I’ve eaten in the area. They are open real early(4AM) and work well for breakfast on the fly. Unfortunately, they also close at 4:30PM on the weekends, so visits on the way back home are rare. They are open until 7:30 during the week. Breakfast choices are typical Mexican breakfast staples like huevos Ranchero, huevos mexicano or burritos. I’ve had the breakfast staples and also the sopes, which are excellent. Service is pleasant and prompt. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Parking is easy and plentiful. Highly recommended.

Love finding little gems in the middle of nowhere, and Lola’s is no exception. Texted a buddy who grew up here and asked where I could get a bomb-diggity breakfast burrito, he said Lola’s…so, after 10hrs of driving from Abq, in I pull to a bland little side strip mall near the grocery store. Walk into to a cute little seating area, with a «mama» type of gal in her 60’s behind the register. Sweet and polite, she brought out chips and salsa after I ordered, dang they were tasty chips too… I thought I said«to go,» but since I don’t speak spanish and she didn’t seem to speak a ton of english, it was fine– just ended up eating it there, which was nice(side note, there’s two reviews that mention«rude» service, perhaps it’s b/c there’s a language barrier– ease up and relax, ok? sheesh). Ordered a California burrito as I’m always interested in seeing what places have the best take on the olé Cali burrito– NOT disappointed, it was freaking solid! meat was perhaps minced a touch small but not an ounce of fat/gristle to be found, it was 100% bomb meat, seasoned right, moist but not greasy, fries were the same, and the cheese was melted(don’t you hate it when it’s not?). Guacamole(it’s pronounced«wok-a-molay», not«gwak-a-mole-ee») was fresh and had just the right amount of lemon. Salsa was spicy but not overly so, which kept it from overpowering the great taste of the carne asada. all in all, def a winner, so this will become a staple of driving through Barstow(which I do all too often *~*)
