It took 6 months to get one appt for laser treatment after full payment is made. We have to make repeated calls & leave messages. None of the technicians bother to call back and make sure to talk. They just loot money, very commercial. "Business owners" don't bother to hire technicians to provide services after payments are taken. Highly recommend NOT TO GO. STAFF DONT EVEN VALUE YOUR TIME. They expect customers to keep calling and if that is the only Job we have. Very disappointing, Business owners better pay attention to the services NOT Just Money. HAD I NOT PURCHASED THE PACKAGE NO WAY I WOULS STEP INTO THEIR OFFICE!!!! DONT GO STAY AWAY FROM THEM....ITS VERY VERY COMMERCIAL!!!

Dr. Van Dam helped my son with cystic acne. His bedside manner was compassionate and delicate when dealing with a self-conscious teenager. We never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. My son is now acne free and very thankful for Dr. Van Dam’s help.

Where to start. From the beginning, we had a horrible experience with Van Dam’s office with my kid’s acne services(I also went and my husband and never met Van Dam until almost a year). — Service — Between my son and daughter we had at least 8 appointment changes at Versa Spa — after making the appointments. Once, maybe twice, but 8 times is ridiculous. People also have work, school, outside activities — their own schedules. Receiving phone calls after their appointments are made due to either a mix up on Van Dam’s end or double booking… is not the way to run a business. — Billing — a Nightmare — I spent hours of my time trying to rectify a billing error on Van Dam’s end. I continually had to call them regarding constant past due letters I received and that I already communicated verbally more than once, that I do not have anything past due. I was told I need to go through all my credit card statements and e-mail or fax to the office. I was not happy that I again spent my time, but I did and went through numerous statements, covering up my other charges, scanning and e-mailed to their office proof of payment. I then received a call apologizing they found my payment. However, after all this, I received a letter from Transworld Collection Agency Systems for $ 270! Not only have I dealt with the hassles of scheduling and billing, but due to their office’s error, I was now on a collection list. Lack of Ethics — As I had not met Van Dam at this point, I wrote a letter explaining my experience and discontent. I received a letter apologizing and an offer for free services to help make up for my experience. As we were towards the end of the year, I had already met our deductible so I called and thanked them for the offer and asked if it could be used for another service since I already met our deductible — I received a verbal yes. This was never honored on their behalf. — Arrogance — I finally met Van Dam and waited almost an hour to see him with my daughter. Then after waiting almost an hour, he doesn’t apologize, meets with us for approximately five minutes and intended to leave. It was then I introduced myself as I had never met him. I was flabbergasted at how extremely arrogant and rude he was. I’ve never experienced such incompetence, arrogance, lack of service, going back on one’s word and on top of it, lack of results for my kids as I did at Van Dam’s. Save your money, time, hassles and dignity and go elsewhere.

Stay away from this place! All about the money! Took my son there for a mysterious rash. Got misdiagnosed! Saw top dermatologist at Laurie Children’s and finally was able to get rid of stubborn rash! Haven’t heard from Dr Van Dam’s office for a year. All of a sudden I get a collection notice stating I owe $ 50. What!!! I was taken back since I pay all of my bills and I pay them on time, especially a little $ 35 copay bill they claimed they sent me over and over again. I never received anything! Maybe it was time they called me about the little $ 35 bill vs sending it to collection? Called Nancy. Spoke with her regarding this bill I’m seeing for the first time. Explained to her that I have not received one single bill from them ever before! Nancy didn’t want to work with me and would not waive the $ 15 rebilling fee for the bills I never received! Not nice! You need to work with your patients, especially after you claim you sent bills over and over… maybe you should’ve called since it’s a tiny $ 35 bill vs $ 3,500…which of course I would pay if i have received a statement! $ 3,500 would’ve taken me a bit to pay, but I would’ve started paying on it once I received a statement. But come on, a $ 35 copay bill would’ve been paid as soon as it was received, if it was ever received. Just common sense! Will not recommend to anyone!

We’ve used Van Dam Dermatology for acne. Their office is kind and helpful. They do everything they can to help on the business side. Dr. Van Dam and Bridget are great people. They are firm and direct, but caring. They really listen to what you have to say, analyze the situation and decide on a method of treatment. If that treatment for some reason doesn’t work(since we are all different!), they are open to listening to what you have to say and are helpful in determining a different treatment method. I have had to call their office with concerns about a medication and Bridget returned my call and had the same level of professionalism and directness as an office visit.

I have been to Van Dam twice for a «full body scan» to check for skin cancer. Both times I was seen by the PA, not a doctor. The second time I went in(June 2014), I told the PA that I was concerned about a spot on my ankle that was like a scab that kept peeling off but wouldn’t heal. She looked at it and said it’s nothing, but that she would freeze it to make it stop scabbing. The freezing didn’t make the scabbing stop, so I decided to get a second opinion. This doctor(completely different dermatologist office) took a biopsy from that spot on my ankle, and it turns out to be squamous cell carcinoma(skin cancer). If the PA at Van Dam didn’t know what she was dealing with, she should have called in a doctor to look at it instead of just freezing it and sending me home. I will not go back to Van Dam.

I cannot comment on laser treatments, or any of the procedures that other reviewers have mentioned. I will say that for all of my dermatological needs– acne during pregnancy, skin care, concern about moles, etc– dr. Van dam has been great ;). The staff is friendly, and they are really helpful with appointment scheduling too!
