Food was ok. Service was decent. Wait time was very reasonable. Price point made sense. There was nothing really significant about the restaurant other than the fun décor and lots of pies. I would come back next time we are in town.

After reading so many glowing reviews, I had high expectations. That may be why I wasn’t too thrilled with the food. There was nothing wrong with it; it just didn’t amaze me. Don’t get me wrong — the fresh OJ and lemonade were really delicious, and the pies looked out of this world, although I didn’t try any of the pies since it was 10am. However, the eggs and french toast were just okay; I wasn’t a huge fan of the syrup, and they were out of the cinnamon bread, so I got the cinnamon raisin bread instead. If you’re looking for an average breakfast restaurant with a family vibe, this is a good pick. However, I wouldn’t say it’s a memorable experience.

Reliable breakfast place at reasonable prices. Can get busy on the weekends for breakfast, so be aware you might have to wait for a table. Definitely get the cinnamon roll and hash brown casserole.

We found this restaurant purely by chance while recently staying at Durward’s Glen Retreat. We wanted to to find someplace close for breakfast, and decided to give The Log Cabin restaurant a try. Everything about this place is fantastic. Great place for small or large gatherings. The log cabin décor is as grand on the inside as it is on the outside. With wooden carved statues and bent cane chairs, the decorations alone will keep the little ones occupied & in awe allowing you a few extra minutes to look over their extensive menu. Be sure to bring your Lumberjack appetite, because the portions they serve up are very hearty and generous. Highlights include fresh squeezed orange juice. & the homemade baked goods, biscuits, several varieties of bread thickly sliced«country style» served as toast. Muffins and Huge to die for warm cinnamon rolls… Oh, AND let us not forget… their several varieties of homemade pies!

We went there after stay in Dells. I was looking for a nice breakfast restaurant for my family and found this one. We ordered different varieties of foods including pancakes, eggs, meats, etc. I didn’t expect so nice food we can have there! Like the deco and miss the foods!

Very impressed, excellent breakfast. 10⁄10 on the strawberry nut Belgium waffles. Our group of 6 were all very pleased and the sever was quick. Very responsible prices even for a whole pie.

I’ve stopped here twice for breakfast on day trips to Devil’s Lake State Park. The brisket and eggs was delicious and the pancakes are fantastic. My next trip to the area will involve another Log Cabin breakfast.

Delicious breakfast spot with the family! Come a little early or expect to wait a few minutes for a table because this place is bumping on a Saturday or Sunday morning. To kill the time, meander over to the pie wall where you can admire all of the beautifully presented works of art. It’s never too early for pie! Breakfast is served until noon and you have the option of ordering lunch at any time. I opted for the 2×4 which is two pieces of sausage, 2 bacon strips, two pieces of French toast(or pancakes) and two eggs. Our waitress suggested the cinnamon swirl French toast which was sooooooo good!!! The bread was ooey gooey and with big swirls of cinnamon that was the right amount of sweet. Next time I’m here, I may only get the cinnamon swirl French toast. My husband had the ham skillet special and he gobbled it down pretty quickly. I guess he liked it! I tried a bite and it was the perfect combination of hash browns, eggs and perfectly cooked ham. My only complaint was that the waitress gave us the wrong check and when my husband paid, she processed the correct check. She never mentioned anything to us or apologized for the confusion. Other than that, the service was great. I’ll be back to try the lunch. If the lunch is just as good, this place will be bumped up to a 5 star.

Third time I’ve been here, the hash brown casserole is a must have! Thick cut bacon is fab, love the cinnamon role. Place has lots of charm, will always come back.

Do not go here if you are a minority. They will ignore you. When we got here, we sat down and waited and waited and no one took our order. After watching the server take two orders of people who got here after us, we decided to ask the manager the reason we are waiting and people who were after us served. He just said im sorry and walked away. The food came to our table almost 45 minutes later.

Is it a coincidence that Dell rhymes with hell? I don’t think it is so do yourself a favor and get out of the tourist trap Dells and drive 10 minutes for some killer breakfast food! The ambiance is very«up-north» with a log cabin motif and the random animal lawn ornament. Benches are hewn from split logs so it does feel very woodsy. There also might be a little wait for a table but not too long for breakfast. The OJ is freshly squeezed and the bread is homemade so a plus for Log Cabin for both. I had the beef brisket which is also made in-house. The brisket for breakfast was served almost like a crispy bacon which was unusual but tasty. The hashbrown casserole is a total comfort food just like a church pot luck so definitely worthy! The prices are reasonable for the food quality so if I am ever in the Dells again I will stop by and try their lunch or dinner.

We stopped in here for breakfast after camping at devils head state park. The food was good when we got it, but it took over forty minutes to arrive. The kitchen was extremely busy, and the staff seemed way over worked. Our waitress was asked to cover nearly 1⁄3 of the floor, running all over herself to just keep cups filled. The food was good, but flavorless gravy and sloppy omelette prep left us wishing we had stopped somewhere else. The price for the amount of food is a great deal, but you get what you pay for. Overall a lackluster brunch that was easy on our wallets.

I was disappointed. It smelled good and looked good but the taste was a let down. There were other flavors in my food. My hash-browns had a fruity taste, weird. My bacon had a hint of I don’t know what and was extra crispy. My husband’s on the other hand was almost under cooked. My biscuit was like a stale cornbread muffin. Harsh, I know. It is what it is though. The eggs were good. My husband’s pancake was good! On a better note, our server was great. Wish I could remember her name. She was helpful about the area when we asked some questions and very attentive. Woodsy log cabin atmosphere with animals and carved wood everywhere. I wished I would have gotten a piece of pie to go.

My evening sucked thanks to Baraboo’s finest Sheriff — who issued me a $ 20 dollar parking ticket and had my car(which seemed to be legally parked) towed at Pewitt’s Nest($ 200 towing bill). On my way out of the town I might NEVER return to(sorry Baraboo — you just lost a tourist), I found this wonderful place. The sign outside said 14 different types of cream pie… I needed pie. Desperately. Three words. Bacon. Bourbon. Ribs. I also had Mac ‘n Cheese, Hashbrowns, and Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Pie. I would NEVER eat all of those things in one sitting on any given day — but my car was just towed and I was NOT in a good mood. I needed extreme calories and delicious comfort food. It was freakin’ delicious. Everything. Not a single thing was less than perfect. The waitress was very friendly and the environment was homey and comfortable. Thank you, Log Cabin Family Restaurant for supplying my anger-motivated binge eating spree. And thank you, City of Baraboo, for taking $ 200 dollars of my hard-earned money and causing me to cram down 8000 billion calories into my already plump self. If I ever return to Baraboo, I’ll stop in again. EDIT9÷21÷2015 — I returned to Baraboo to show Pewitt’s Nest to my sister sister who was visiting in town from New York. We stopped back here — and once again, everything was delicious. The waitress even remembered us! Now that’s service!

Great breakfast spot. We came at noon on a Sunday, was given a wait time of 15 min but was promptly called a couple minutes later. They have a orange squeeze machine that pumps out fresh oj on demand. We got the mimosas and it was fantastic. Our group ordered omelettes and the standard breakfast platters. My one comment would be that they don’t have a set menu item for a typical fare, such as pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, and meat. But it’s probably by design, seeing as how I ordered what I wanted and had to add from the a la cart menu and ended up totaling $ 40 with tip for two people. When we got the omelette we asked the waitress wasn’t hashbrowns included with the order, to which she said it’s IN the omelette… genius! And delicious! The pancake was okay, not fluffy, but a little more dense than I like. The“fresh” strawberry was just the opposite, and came slathered in artificial red dye syrup. It would be passable on our next visit for sure. Everything else hit the spot, their meats were high quality and never greasy. They give many options as choice of bread with your order, such as fresh baked muffins, homemade toasts, and even a cinnimon roll for extra charge. Their pie display was very tempting. But alas, my temptation could not match my level of gluttony this visit.

A very gluten-free friendly restaurant, but you have to tweak a lot of meals. There’s gluten-free bread and buns, so enjoy your burgers or sandwiches. Just remember to remove the battered onion strips that find themselves on many dishes. The chili is fantastic and is also gluten-free. Pair it with cheese-smothered fries and you have an affordable, delicious meal. I have yet to have a bad meal here amd I have been eating here for years. If you aren’t worried about gluten, the pies are to die for. Yes I know how good they are, I wasn’t always gluten-free. I miss those pies terribly.

Unexpectedly great! Yes the décor is a little overdone, as it kinda looks like a cross between a Denny’s and a northwoods flea market. All kidding aside, our food was delicious. My kids especially loved the French toast. As other Unilocalers have noted, the OJ is REALLY good, don’t miss it. One thing you WILL miss is the throng of Chicagoans that usually overtake the Dells, and the high restaurant prices that follow. Log Cabin has delicious food, fair prices, and funky décor that will at least lift your spirits.
