We had dinner here before heading off to ImprovAcadia and it was definitely a good choice. The coupon from our tour bus led us here, but the reviews kept us interested. We didn’t go by the way of seafood, so I can’t vouch for that, but the italian food was yummy and filled us right up! If only we had left time for dessert… Next time!

Don’t get the blackened chicken Alfredo or the baked haddock… Awful food. The chicken Alfredo was rubbery and poorly seasoned, my wife’s haddock was really bland, and for some reason tasted like tuna fish… Let me just say that we went to this place after window shopping and we’re excited to try their food. Looked casual and inviting. The service was good as soon as I pushed my half eaten meal away and we’re ready to leave. I had high hopes and being that my wife and I were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary we were pretty upset leaving there still hungry after spending 70 $. Wish we would have looked on here and seen that this place is a tourist trap. Oh well. This place is a comfy spot located perfectly in town but the food was awful. The chicken in my meal was really rubbery, there’s no way it was fresh. I worked in a kitchen for 15 years, I know what fresh chicken tastes like… That was NOT fresh chicken. We left there really bummed out, and think it may be due to the high turnover needed to push meals out in the midst of a summer rush, unfortunately it’s mid October and there was only one other table there… Learn from our mistake, go somewhere else. The hostess and bus boys were awesome, but everything else sucked. I don’t usually leave negative reviews on here because I feel like people are generally too hard on businesses but tonight’s dinner is the only time I have never finished a meal before… And I’ve been eating army food for 6 years now…

Good food and great bar! Chris the bartender was awesome! Mussels were good-though not in a broth but in all there glory, lobster roll was yummy. Meatball sandwich was ok faccacia bread could have been more crispy but it worked. Beers and drinks were reasonably priced. Service was great but go early!

Our group ordered Blueberry waffles and omelets, all were good. Our waitress was working hard but had a large number of tables so others like hostess pitched in to keep drinks full. The waitress was very patient and helpful with the other patrons with limited English at the table behind us.

We had breakfast here our first morning in BH. The food was good but the servers were not super friendly. Also, it was pretty pricey. They charge $ 3 for a tiny(2 – 3 oz) serving of maple syrup if you don’t want Log Cabin, which is included in the price of their blueberry pancakes. And they charge for every refill cup of coffee… kind of ridiculous! The spinach goat cheese omelette was really good, as were the home fries. That said, given their crazy pricing policies, we found other breakfast options the rest of the week.

Had breakfast there twice. Day one by itself would have been a 3 or 4 star. We came after morning rush, got seated by the open bay front window, great waitress. My wife and I split the spinach and cheese omelette and apple waffle. Nice mix. Son had a nice chocolate chip pancake with chips on top that melted on the pancake. Biscuits and gravy were good. Day two was different. Had the waitress who«we should be honored» that she had our table. The windows come off the front. We were there early before they removed them. Asked the manager if they could remove the window. Got a snippy answer«after that party leaves» like I knew their procedure. Could have been told that without the attitude. Again we split our orders. The blueberry waffle was lame. There was nothing on top and its a thin waffle so not much inside. We were told it come with high fructose 50 cent a gallon A&P plain wrap syrup and good syrup cost $ 1 extra. I was stunned on how tacky that was. And«hello?» maybe have blueberry syrup for the blueberry pancakes and waffles? Like… it’s Maine? Sprinkle a few fresh blueberries on the top and raise the price 25 cents. Worst waffle we ever ordered. The lobster omelette, with a newburg sauce was good but not a $ 20 omelette. Won’t be back. Not going to roll the dice and see if we get a Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde meal. There are a lot of other good breakfast spots around.

Service was extremely nice and friendly here. We were seated right away and by the windows which has a great view of the bay. However the seafood/lobster is on the pricey side. You can’t share the double lobster so we had to order an extra entrée :(and the lobster newburgh entrée i had ordered actually came in a small soup form which i was not expecting. It was like a different type of lobster chowder. However there was a good amount of lobster meat chunks in there. Would go here out of convenience and but wouldnt go out of the way

I had the twin lobsters on the early bird special. They were outstanding. The dinner rolls were hot and they came with butter and chopped olives. This Resturant had the best prices on lobster in the village.

We had the best prime rib there. It was hard to pass up the homemade pasta. Loved how we were seated right away on a Sat night. The waiter was super nice.

Great food. Even better service! Very friendly. My girlfriend chose the lobster and the server was kind enough to show her how to crack it open! They even gave us directions to get to the best tourist attractions

Amazing gem a few blocks off of the water! Twin Lobster special early bird dinner is huge and worth it! Great great GREAT service! They went above and beyond to take great care of us and were very attentive. We even had some great ice cream consultation on where to go for a great cone! A++++ for service and food! Don’t waste your time with the waterfront places when this one has it all and is a great value! Bring the family and sit upstairs. Every server we encountered was fantastic! You won’t be disappointed.

Meh. I got a Reuben sandwich and it was almost tasteless. Bread was decent, but sauerkraut had no edge. The fries that came with the sandwich appeared to be store bought /frozen… The lobster and clam chowder were fine, but nothing special. The wait staff was friendly, relatively prompt. Able to handle special orders for a member of our party with dietary restrictions. The one redeeming thing was the blueberry pie. Not amazing, but good enough with the included scoop of ice cream. Wouldn’t eat here again, but not horrible.

We went for breakfast & it was delicious! Not to mention no wait, while the other places had at least a 20 min wait. Great ambiance & service. I had a ham & cheese omelet & it was perfect! Not watery or too cooked. Yummy! My family members had pancakes & scrambled eggs. Everyone raved about their food as well!

This place was not good. We started with the crab spinach and artichoke dip. It was not good. The cheese on top was rubbery and the contents inside had an odd consistency. My husband and I both ordered the chowder and cheese(NE clam chowder and a grilled cheese sandwich). The soup was lukewarm and the grilled cheese was not grilled enough. It was more like a cheese sandwich on toast. This was a simple order for a restaurant that touts its longevity. Get it together, Testa’s. You’ve had time to figure this out. I would recommend skipping Testa’s.

Breakfast here is amazing! During our two week trip, we have been here now 4 times! I can’t stay away from the eggs Benedict. Perfect sauce! The potatoes are awesome as well as the grits… I’ve had both! The staff are awesome and some of the most friendly we’ve met. Thank you Testa’s for making our mornings great!

The waffles are fantastic. Both the blueberry and pecan are awesome especially if you add granola. It was a bit surprising what they charged for maple syrup. Being in Maine, you’d think that would be included with every meal like this. I’d go there again in a heart beat.

Had lunch here after a morning in Acadia National Park. Can’t vouch for the seafood — had a burger, and others at the table had a chicken Caesar wrap and a Reuben. All three sandwiches very decent, burger cooked to order. Avoid the potato salad — it was terrible. Given this is smack dab in the middle of all the schlocky tourist shops in Bar Harbor, I was concerned and unwilling to take a chance on seafood, but lunch sandwiches a solid choice. Service was friendly as well.

We went typical tourist with«The Taste of Maine» and it was totally worth it. The house made olive tapenade was a yummy surprise that went with whipped butter and hard rolls. The«chowdah» was a good balance of clams and potatoes. The Chef prepped the lobster by splitting the tail and clipping the claws making for an enjoyable(non-messy) dining experience. Just when we thought we were DONE out came the slice of blueberry pie alamode. It was the perfect amount of sweetness to finish off the delicious meal. A perfect dinner to wrap up our day in Bar Harbor.
