Stone Throw Cottage Inn

We stayed here during our first trip to Acadia National Park. The owners gave us a warm welcome and tons of useful tips for great hikes around the island. The bed was super comfortable (firm). Our room and common spaces were super clean. Breakfast was delicious! We’ll be back!

Excellent! Perfect location. Walk to all of the downtown shops. The hosts were friendly and extremely helpful. They advised us the many restaurants and hiking trails. They prepared excellent gourmet breakfast each day. We would definitely recommend this Inn and we would stay here again when we return on another trip.

Had the pleasure of staying 3 nights recently. Jerry and Kara have done a wonderful job creating such a warn atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had picked the right place.
Jerry was very helpful in suggesting and giving feedback on activities, hikes, and restaurants. We were only in town for a few days do this really allowed us to ficus in on the stuff we would really enjoy.
The breakfasts were excellent as were the evening sweet treats. We had an early morning on which we left before breakfast and they made is to-​go meals.
Highly recommend.

We had initially planned for 3 nights, but we couldn’t resist to stay another extra night because of the B&B experience and also the town, Bar Harbor.
We have not stayed at BB too many times in the past as we always stayed at hotels, but from now onwards, after experiencing the stay at STC, we will always look for B&B first for our future vacations.
Just like how Linda said in her review, you do feel just like at home here. The rooms are beautiful, the lobby/​back and front patio/​dining were all perfect to hang out and have good conversations with other guests. But what makes a good experience at a B&B is just not the rooms and natural beauty around you, but also the hosts and how they treat you and have a good time with you. The owners at STC, Jerry and Kim, were just the kindest people you could meet who would go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable at this place. They made it so inviting that you wanted to go downstairs and talk to them instead of being in your room. Every morning, we had an agenda planned in the park and had to be at places for tours etc. and we would always be running behind because we would lost track of time having breakfast with these guys. It was just too much fun. And the breakfast each day was just «WOW»…ARE YOU SERIOUS WE ARE HAVING THAT? (in a good way) …so .it was definitely one of those moments…
Also, this place is centrally located in BH town. we loved the fact that we could come back from a long day of hiking and trailing, and then just within 5 min of walk, we were in downtown where all the action is. and very safe too.
So definitely, check out this place and you will not regret it a single bit. I know that if we ever go back to BH, we will def stay here only (unless they are sold which would not be surprising).
