One of the worst Indian food I have tried in a while. Nothing was good and the price was high for this kind of food.

The food was horrible. V ordered chickn biryani, n all they gave was chickn rice which was jus spiced up by tonnes of chilli powder.

Worst unauthentic Indian food ever. We ordered only 3 things, all of then were progressively worst. Please avoid at all costs till they hire better cooks.

Worst food. I would strongly advise you to just walk past it, if you are searching for an Indian restaurant. chicken, lamb tastes awful. Horrible food I’ve ever had in US from an Indian restaurant

Excellent Indian Food. We came for the first time tonight, not expecting anything special for Indian food in Bangor. We were extremely impressed with the quality of the food — in my opinion it was as good as any of the other Indian restaurants we visit when we travel. We had the Samosa as an appetizer, the Punjabi Naan, the Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Curry Chicken — every dish was excellent. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend giving this place a try — we plan to come back often.

So so SOSOGOOD. The Chana Saag ISTODIEFOR. Samosas good(spicy!), naan bread was nice and soft. Tried my friends coconut naan and it was amazing, I had no idea that was even a thing! My husband had the Lamb Curry and he was over the moon with how good it was. Everything was perfectly spiced, fresh, super flavorful and healthy portions. I got to enjoy my leftovers the next day and they seemed magically EVENBETTER! My only critique, separate out the Naan guys, we were a five table and you put all our bread together we had no idea what went with what or what the portions were, it was awkward trying to figure out and pass the bread around. I don’t mind sharing the rice but the bread was a pain, especially since different people ordered different flavors. Five Star review to Four Star because service a little lacking. Waitress was a little loopy, took forever to get our food order(20+ min) we had to finally tell her we wanted to order food now, and then she totally disappeared and never came back right as we got our food. At the time there were five of us and the dining room was completely empty except for one other two person table that was finishing the end of their meal. The owner(I think) finished service for us and she was super adorable and pleasant, just felt bad that she ended up finishing the job. Would go back every time we are in town, I don’t live in Bangor but it’s the kinda place that is so good I’d eat there several times a week if I could.

No words, Such a pathetic food we never had early. Chicken biryani has peas, carrot, beans, cauliflower and mushrooms. Seriously guys? Food is also quite expensive. I don’t recommend this to anyone.

Not good. Food was sweet and we asked for the green chili but the India lady over here told ‘NO’ but eventually the other lady working here gave us the green chili. Really what is the reason behind not giving green chili to the customer? Height of arrogance and the place is overpriced. You will be disappointed while stepping out of this place.

I have been a regular at Taste of India for 15 years and have been generally satisfied. The food has been pretty good and as a vegetarian I’ve appreciated that Indian cuisine has more options than is often available. Service has always been passable if not remarkable. But what we experienced last night was simply bizarre. It was as if everyone working in the restaurant was completely distracted by some outside event they were catering or actively trying to make us annoyed. I arrived with a party of six and was pointed to a large table in the middle of the room. Although there were only about 4 other tables, our order was not taken for some 20 minutes. We were never given enough menus or water We finally ordered entrees and a number of side dishes, including the spicy mixed pickle, about which the waiter warned us that«nobody likes that.» The entrees arrived in two groups, not particularly hot, and the rice came about 5 minutes later — two large platters without serving spoons. None of the sides arrived. I asked for serving spoons and our sides, and they came some 15 minutes later after I had to ask our waiter a second time. Meanwhile, the restaurant staff were all huddled in the corner talking among themselves or calling to each other loudly across the dining room over the heads of the customers. A continual stream of workers(drivers?) were moving past our table with big containers, and every time they went in and out of the front door they left it standing wide open to the cold winds coming in. Because we couldn’t get the attention of any staff, we had to get up six different times to close the door behind them in clear view of all the waitstaff who did nothing. About the 4th time I found two of the workers standing right outside the opened door talking to themselves, completely oblivious to how their behavior was disrupting the diners inside. I asked them to keep the door closed as best they could but they just looked at me as if I had three heads and complained that keeping the door closed was hard for them because they had to carry a lot of things in and out. When we asked for a take-home container to bring home the massive amounts of rice left over we were given one small Styrofoam box that could hold about half of what was left. The only smile or kind word we received all night was just before tip-time. Eating out is a luxury — together we spent about $ 100 — it seems simply bizarre that any restaurant that cares to stay in business would take its customers so much for granted. I may someday try to eat there again for the buffet — since it doesn’t involve depending on waiters — but probably never again for dinner.

Service: worst Food: worst Price: overpriced This place is a total waste. I ordered a veg thali for my sister and aaloo paratha for myself. After like 45 mins of wait they gave me a veg thali and gave me a garlic naan instead of aaloo paratha. They said that aalo paratha was not available. If it was not available they should have informed me when I was ordering. And how can garlic naan replace aaloo paratha. How am I supposed to eat garlic naan without anything else. And they said that they didn’t charge for aaloo paratha. But later when I checked my bill they had charged for garlic naan. The staff were really bad. I couldn’t find any other Indian restaurant in this area. Maybe that’s why the monopoly.

Food was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. The navratan korma was a super spicy, mixed vegetables dish with hardly any curry. The host served it as a «Mixed Veg» dish, when we ordered the Navratan korma. Upon confronting the host, she insisted that’s how it is… weird, coz I’ve had this dish in hundreds of places during my lifetime in India and the US, and it’s never tasted like this. She just refused to accept the fact that she served us the wrong dish. Service was super slow, terrible actually. My plate had 2 hairs on it, and had stale, rough unclean stains on it, had to ask for a replacement.

Went for lunch today after a friend claimed it was the best Indian food he’s ever had. A Taste of India did not disappoint! We started with the paneer pakora and roti and then the mango chicken, makhni chicken, and chicken tikka masala. Everything was delicious and we cannot wait to go back and try more!

Great food… One of the best Indian food I have ever had. I got paneer masala and it tasted really nice and the right level of spice. Because of downtown, parking can little difficult to find, but there is a free 2hr parking garage next street. Overall, food is totally awesome.

Get the chicken tikka masala. You won’t be sorry. Then get a second order of it to take home because you will want to eat this for days!

Food was good. The Mexican waiter was engaging, but… Mexican cook also did a decent job with the authentic Indian food ha ha. I wasn’t too happy that they overcharged from what the menu price said. Not the best place but okay.

This is one place I would never visit again, because(a) the server in both cases was very rude, and(b) for what they serve, they are overpriced. The first time we got there full 30 minutes before they were closing and she tried to chase us out and after I showed her the time, she was as rude as one could be. The second time, a year later, she started vacuuming next to us and we got up and left and she didn’t even realize it. I understand that this is Bangor and they’re the only Indian food in town, but this doesn’t mean that you can be as rude as she was to us.

Pros: homemade tasty naan & kulcha. Homey Indian décor — nice tapestries on the ceiling. Good variety of vegetarian dishes. Cons: Disinterested server, small portions for the price, very salty & mild, even when spice was requested.

So delicious. So So delicious. Healthy portions so that you have yourself dinner, lunch, and dinner again the next day. It reheats very well. I came in on an odd weekday, was the only one in the restaurant, and asked for a recommendation. I went with the Chicken Tikka and an order of their coconut raisin naan. It was ready in 10 minutes. Oh I loved it!
