A great place for some unique, healthy, vegetarian and vegan dining downtown. Nothing else like this exists in the Bangor area, so it stands alone to serve a necessary niche. I’ve tried a few different smoothies and some food samples, and they’ve all been great! I hope they continue to expand the menu to give more options but it is an awesomely local, natural, sustainable, and healthy place to eat downtown.

Tasty fresh goodness here. Locally grown food, nice(if a bit distracted) staff, the juices and smoothies are quite yummy. I like the cous cous salad quite a bit and their soups are generally very good.

Cute place serving plant-based food. I was in with a friend and didn’t try the food /drinks but it looked yummy and place was nice and clean.

I had the chik’in salad. Wonderful atmosphere here. This is a charming little establishment. They have some locally grown food. The staff was very friendly. It was my first day in Bangor Maine. This place was a find.

Yum! Healthy filling food and juice. Very satisfying. It is hard to find food like this in the area. Thank you.

We come here for lunch a lot. It’s affordable($ 8.00 for a salad and grain bowl) the food is fresh and tasty, and light, but filling! Service is quick and cheerful, and te space is bright and clean(a welcome change from other eateries downtown). The menu selection is limited, but has enough diversity to satisfy most palates. It’s great to finally have a gluten free vegan eatery that does vegan food justice(it’s not all about bland tofu and fake cheese!)

For the longest time, Bangor’s vegetarian and vegan options were disappointing — in that they simply did not exist. With the Juice Cellar, owner Chris Roberts has brought his repertoire of salads, rice bowls, juices, smoothies and raw snacks to the masses, and it is beyond delicious. A great downtown location(conveniently nestled next to the Discovery Museum) and friendly, knowledgeable staff make the Juice Cellar one of my favorite spots for lunch or early dinner. I recommend the«Southern Hospitality» salad, which features barbecue chickpeas, avocado, sprouts, tomato, roasted carrot and quinoa over greens, tossed with a yummy smoked paprika dressing. Notable drinks include the transcendent virgin piña colada-inspired«The Tops» and the cheekily-named«(the drink formerly known as) Purple Rain.» If you’re looking for something sweet to chomp on, please do yourself a favor and check out the gluten-free crumb tarts or house-made doughnuts.

Like an import of some west coast food values and(casual) cuisine– health-centric, ethical. Plenty evolved but friendly to newcomers. Authenticity means a slightly longer wait, which I weigh as well worth the extra few minutes

VEGAN. As the only plant-based juice and salad bar in the area, the Juice Cellar quickly became my new favorite place. I tried the Life is Rosy smoothie on a staff recommendation, and it was heavenly. I’m not a fan of rose water-based drinks, but I make an exception here. I substituted mango for the banana, and this was the best smoothie I’ve ever had. The staff are friendly and fun to talk to. The specials — usually doughnuts or rolls — are really good too. And they just switched to cashew milk from almond because of the drought, so that gives them a bonus point.

Great location, and very nice inside but the juices and smoothies were a huge disappointment. I tried the maca malt, which was terrible. It used unripe green bananas, had zero sweetness, and so much bitter cacao it was hard to finish. They also didn’t use any frozen fruit so it was warm and slightly chunky. One sip would be fine, and the next would be a hard ball of sour warm banana. Also tried a beet juice, which was warm and seemed like the veggies were unwashed. I’m used to doing smoothies and juices but this pushed even a hardened vegan to the edge. My friend got a soul shine juice that was half pure ginger juice; she had a sore throat for a week after drinking it. And I also noticed that none of the fruits or veggies were organic. disappointing. Also, while checking out I was forced to tip the person who made the juice. You pay on an iPad, and when signing for your credit card there is a place to tip that was unavoidable. Seemed very strange and put me on the spot. There was no being waiting on, you order the drinks at the counter and carry them to your seat yourself. The whole experience left a lot to be desired.

Great place for a «Big Salad!» The roasted roots in the Roots Salad were done perfectly. The ingredients in the West Meets West were so fresh and simple. The light dressings in both of the salads let you taste the freshness of the food. The portions were very generous and service was excellent. We were too full for the smoothies, but we’ll definitely be back.

As a regular consumer of fresh juice, I was disappointed with this place. I purchased 2 strawberry almond milks for my daughters and a fresh smoothie, the«Hello World», for myself. All of them were bland. I’m not asking for added sweeteners, but surely there should be enough ingredients to give the beverages some flavor. My daughter laughed that it tasted like water, and she was right. Good location, proximity to the children’s museum is nice for the healthy snack, when the juices improve. Didn’t try any of the salads
