If I could give negative stars I would! Maybe a –7 Tacky décor. Radio had RAP music… YUCK Felt like being in a truck stop Asked for dressing on side, salad was swimming in it Rare Prime rib was BROWN !! It was reheated in very salty Au jus And more than 50% Fat potato was overdone and burned on the bottom, sitting in a holding pan for hours? Frozen vegetables? not good Wanted to charge extra for more bread Hey at least the water was not too bad! This was a first anniversary meal for us, only thing that was good was the company! I called the next Monday and the«manager stated» «that’s the way we do it» Offered a free desert if we made the 90 mile trip for a return visit. I should have put a stop on my credit card. Avoid this place, nothing to recommend at all !!!

Again, a mixed review. Hubbie loved his fried oysters and I found my cod to be very disappointing. The bread basket included cranberry beer bread. A nice regional touch. I would try it again but there are many choices at the beach so it may be awhile.

Came in an hour before closing, cheerful service, great atmosphere! We ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and the BBQ boar burger, their homemade bbq sauce, ranch dressing were fantastic, fresh ingredients, highly recommend this restaurant!

Horseradish was real good, beer was cold, potatoes were cold and this is the fat from a 24 oz prime rib. Was told some cuts just have more fat, oh and please come back. Never again will I eat there. No more flavor in the food then McDonald’s.

My husband and I, with four kids in tow, were not expecting much when we decided on this restaurant for dinner when we arrived in Bandon at 7:30 to find the majority of establishments closed at 7 or 6. Some of the reviews were pretty bad, but we felt we had few choices. We were completely, totally surprised and shocked by an absolutely wonderful meal all around! My daughter and I had clams, which came with a mix of broccoli, zucchini, carrots, and red onion which was cooked absolutely perfectly. Seriously, I can’t remember the last time I had veggies cooked so well(cooked but still crisp, not soggy at all) at a restaurant. Hubby had chicken Parmesan which was a huge portion and he said also was very good. Kids had fish and chips and chicken fingers and enjoyed those meals, as well. Almost best of all was the sweet cranberry bread that came with sourdough… SO good that we had to buy a loaf to take with us! Just wonderful.

Servers and hostess were great. Relaxed homestyle atmosphere. That being said… the best part of our dinner was the small sample slices of cranberry bread that came with our dinners. It’s worth the stop to purchase the bread alone-which they do sell for $ 9.00 a loaf. Dinner was nothing we haven’t had any where else, nothing memorable and a bit on the forgettable side.

This place is one to avoid. The service is pathetic only to be matched by the poor quality of the food. We ordered steamers for an appetizer. I specifically told our server we wanted the clams first and to delay the main meal. Then she shows uo with our salads. Then the steamers, cold and not so fresh tasting. After eating 1 or 2 clams here she comes with the main course. Ugh! My med rare steak was well done. So was I at this point. Last time for this place.

This was the second time we have been to Billy’s. The first time I ordered the Turkey Bogwich. A grilled turkey sandwich on hazelnut bread with cranberry sauce, cream cheese and swiss cheese. Overall, the flavors were great but the grilling process left too much grease on the bread. We also have tried the cheeseburgers. YUCK! This place is suppose to be a steakhouse and it would have been really nice to have cooked, fresh hamburger meat instead of the frozen hockey meat puck they slapped on the grill and then overcooked them. Totally inedible. The service was lacking both times. We were the only people at the restaurant and the server forgot we were there but when she delivered our food and we didn’t see her again. I had to go and find her so we could pay. Not a big fan of this place.

Was I ever embarrassed! I was hosting our RV group in Bandon and they suggested we go out to eat. I stated that I had heard bad things about the place they suggested so on my recommendation we went to Smoothboars. FIRSTTHEGOOD. Those that had seafood got good dinners. The BAD. BUT those that had beef were extremely displeased. One woman got Prime beef and half of it was fat. When she complained to the server he said what did she expect it was the butt of the cow. He said she should not order it next time she came in.(There will be no next time) The UGLY. The sever terrible!!! There were 12 people and as we waited for a slow service we ran out or water. We asked for more and he brought to small containers of water for the large group. Finally we got our meals and he disappeared. As we were all drinking water we ran out and were never approached so we could ask for more water. When he finally returned with the bills we said isn’t there supposed to be bread with the meals? The reply was«I guess it’s a little late isn’t it. I suppose you still want the bread?» We said yes, as I remembered the cranberry bread as being very good and others wanted to try it. He wasn’t pleased so he plopped it on the table with a rude comment. After all this we were charged 18% for service of a group. What service!!! On top of that we were the only ones the restaurant.(There may have been more in the bar) For two days I tried to call and get a manager of the owner as I thought the owner or the manager would be interested in our complaints. They were never available to talk. I really wanted to support the local businesses but I will find others to support.

Visiting a few days for some crabbing and salmon fishing. Thought I would try the local clam chowder since Bandon is also known for clams. Dont try the clam chowder here. You’ll be disappointed. However my boyfriend had the baby back ribs and loved them… fall off the bone and sauce was delicious. Salad and baked potatoe were also very good. Atmosphere is clean and comfortable.

Terrible!!! My wife, father in law and I dined at Billy Sommthboar’s Restaurant on 5÷24÷14 @ 5:14 pm. We looked over the menu and my father in law asked Elizabeth, the waitress«how are your prime rib dinners, is the prime rib good?» Elizabeth stated«they are excellent, really good.» My wife and her dad ordered the 12 oz prime rib dinner based on Elizabeth’s recommendation. I ordered the Deep Fry Platter. So far, so good. Our orders arrive in a timely manner and both my wife and her dad cut into their prime rib dinners. Both of them had trouble cutting the steaks and after chewing their steaks for a minute stated«this is tough, this is really tough.» Elizabeth dropped by a few minutes later and said«how are things going?» My father in law said these steaks seem to be tough. My wife agreed with her dad. Elizabeth said, maybe we need to sharpen our knives a bit, they aren’t very sharp. Both my wife and her dad said it’s a tough steak, it’s not the knives. Eventually Elizabeth brought our bill. I told her we would appreciate it if she could see if the manager would take a little off the bill since the steaks were like shoe leather. This is the part that really pissed us all off. Elizabeth then said«we had a complaint about the steaks being tough a little earlier.» I’ll go check and see if the manager will do something. Hello? Didn’t we ask how good the prime rib was before they ordered it? It was obvious that Elizabeth just got caught in a lie. Needless to say we will never go back there again and you shouldn’t either.

Good food and good service. Far enough out of town so that you don’t feel overwhelmed by the tourist traffic. In other words, it’s very popular with the locals.
