Great selection of pizza. The salad I got was really good. My friend got the kale salad with dried fruit. There was no dried fruit on the salad. They brought her a small bowl of dried cranberries. We sent the mussels back. Very fishy tasting. The manager brought our check before we had ordered coffee and dessert. We asked for dessert and coffee. The dessert menu wasn’t offered. As we were finishing our coffee, the manager came to us and told us to leave. He stated«we have a 45 minute wait for tables.“This was our first and last time there. I have never been treated so rudely. Very noisy. Difficult to have a conservation.

Such delicious pizza! Probably my favorite in all of Baltimore, but definitely worth checking out if you haven’t yet.

Giving 3 stars but I would prefer to put closer to 2.5.(Middle neither good nor bad) Came for restaurant week as well as my first time. Luckily got two seats at the bar just before the restaurant got packed(apparently there were reservations for the whole night) so that was lucky. The place is pretty nice inside. The bar looks good. The bartender was pretty busy this evening so our service wasn’t the greatest(especially when you order affogato for dessert and they bring your ice cream but not your shot and by the time your shot of espresso comes your ice cream was Half melted…) the pizza was really good, though I think the chalkboard in the restaurant was wrong when it said zagat rated best pizza in Maryland. ¿ anyway, another disappointment was my insalate(salad) the Cavolo Nero which was kale, pine nuts, dried fruit, extra virgin olive oil, fresh squeezed lemon. Got my salad with no dried fruit so that was kind of a let down. I figured they were out because a few other things we mentioned the tender said they didn’t have… But prefixed meal and the whole description wasn’t on my plate. Oh well, I’ll try it again on a(hopefully) less busy evening.

The restaurant is beautiful. However, the noise level was so loud, it was hurting our ears. We even measured the decibel level with my iPhone and it registered an average of 85. That’s louder than an airplane. My husbands and my pizza was burnt to the point of tasting bad. However, my two children’s restaurant week meal was awesome. Hope you can approve the acoustics for a more relaxing experience.

visiting canton is like visiting a whole other city. One where most of the residents are idiots but there is still good food to be found if you can tolerate or laugh at the people. Verde is one such example — great pizza, friendly staff, nice place. Meat eaters must get the sausage and pistachio pizza. it was a standout. Other pizzas are all very good just on the merit of their crust. The mushroom lovers lives up to its name with a flavorful assortment of quality fungi. Please tip your servers well… just think of what they have to deal with.

I would rate Verde around a 3.8. The food itself & atmosphere get a 5 rating. I’ve tried a couple of salads, pizzas & apps, which have all been delicious. I love the Vegan options. The bartender was very friendly. A few down sides: 1) This place is definitely a bit over-priced. 2) When it comes down to it, I think the owner is a nice guy, but he can come off as ignorant at first impression. 3) Only 1 bathroom 4) Although not a big deal, the«curtain» that separates the bathroom from the one dining table is a bit odd and off-putting. 5) They were out of 2 different wines I asked for, don’t serve some pretty standard vodka brands & were also out of a few menu items — not sure how that happens early on a Saturday evening? 6) The shrimp appetizer was delicious, but it has the shells on it. In other words, we had to use our fingers to dig through the tomato sauce to peel the shrimp. I wasn’t a fan of having my hands be a garlic, tomato-laden mess before going out. I am sure the chef leaves the shells on for flavor, but it wasn’t a friendly app to eat. All-in-all, I won’t be dining here again any time soon, but I’ll be ordering carry-out for the Vegan pizza because it’s THAT good!

Went to Verde on NYE with a group of 7. We had a 10:30 pm reservation, were seated right away, and ordered the price-fix menu, but asked for vegetarian appetizers instead of the meat ones that came on the appetizer plate. Over the next hour, we received 1 plate of appetizers that had meat, shrimp, and pork. When we reminded the server that we had asked for the vegetarian plate, another server arrived with a plate of fried food and said«these are either pork, shrimp, or vegetable, but I can’t tell from the outside.» Apparently, it was both servers’ first day. When we ordered our pizza, our server asked us to spell the names of the pizza from the menu. Around 11:45 pm, before we received our salads, the server told us that the staff was«taking a break» to allow the patrons/staff to watch the fireworks. Since our food wasn’t going to come, we went out to the terrace to watch the fireworks. The door locked behind us. A member of our party went down the stairs to the front of the restaurant, back up the stairs, and opened the door so that we could get back in. Another guest had turned off the lights in the dining room to watch the fireworks, and when we asked a server to turn the lights back on, he said«it’s my first day, I don’t know where the light switch it.» A different member of our party found the light switch and turned the lights back on. Our salads were arriving, but the servers did not know who had ordered what, or what the names of the salads were. We asked them to just leave it on the table so that we could figure it out ourselves. Nobody was hungry by the time our pizza arrived(12:45), so we asked for it to be boxed up. The price-fix menu indicated that dessert would include gelato and espresso, but there was no gelato. Also, when we ordered espresso, we were told that the espresso machine had already been cleaned up. We were missing a box of pizza when we left, but I found it on an empty table surrounded by cleaning supplies. Despite all of these mishaps, we actually had a great time and were able to laugh about everything that went wrong. And, the food was pretty good the next day. The restaurant just seemed totally unprepared to handle the crowd on NYE. I haven’t decided whether I will give it another try.

Loved this place. Cool dining room and building, nice staff and great food. We tried two pizza and had some fresh mozzarella and salads. Everything was great. These pizzas can hang in there with NY’s best. Great crust and texture. Did not get soggy and toppings were perfectly proportioned. Well done!

Delicious! All mozzarella and burrata are homemade. Pizza and salads are delicious! Bread is spectacular. Very accommodating and very cozy. We love it!

Delicious food in a beautiful, cozy, rustic atmosphere. The dim lighting makes it perfect for an intimate date or just a relaxing evening with friends. Everything I sampled was delicious– the burrata, mozzarella with prusciutto, meatballs and various pizzas(the crust is amazing– eat your crust!) Definitely worth the visit of what will sure be a memorable experience.

Sometimes you just need to realize you aren’t as pretty as you think. Regretfully Verde’s delicious pizza and appetizers do little to offset their inflexible menu and aloof attitude. In days of old, before quality Pizzerias were ubiquitous in Charm City this ‘soup-Nazi’ attitude might have been tolerable but no longer. Changes(even for a fee) and dietary accommodations are not allowed at Verde.

We came here for my fiancé’s 30th birthday with a large party(~16−18 people). It was a bit difficult finding a place in Baltimore that accommodated a large group during the Fells Point Festival weekend, but this was a fantastic surprise. The owner(Mr. Eddie) is wonderful and made our large party feel so welcome. His place has a very relaxed ambiance, but still maintains its class. The menu has a ton of options and has something for everyone. I personally ordered the Burrata(first time ever!) and Pesto trio for appetizers. For pizza I was able to taste the Prosciutto e Fico & Cappuccetta Rossa. Everything was delicious and fresh. THECRUST. LOVETHATCRUST. Even better when you can dip it in your leftover pesto. mmmm. I also didn’t hear any complaints from any of the other guests from our party. Overall the place is beautiful & vibrant, which is also reflected in their menu.
Fig pizza was supposed to be soo good, but the toppings were just thrown on there without the thought of when you cut it up how it’ll taste without the flavor properly laid…8 slices and 2 figs just doesn’t work for the table. Definitely a better brunch place.

The pizza was tasty. I liked the blistered crust and was impressed that they make their own mozzarella. The décor is cozy with lots of rustic wood. However, the service was a little off-putting. When we arrived the host was on the phone, then asked us to wait while she did something on the computer, then answered the phone again and we had to continue waiting while she took a long, complicated to-go order. The restaurant was nearly empty, and there were two waitresses and a bartender standing nearby idly chatting with each other the entire time we were waiting… I’m not sure why one of them couldn’t have taken the phone order, or seated us. It was unwelcoming and got the evening off on the wrong foot. I would probably go back for the pizza, but with hopes that the service would improve. They could also use some better music(something besides«adult contemporary,» please).

Very good restaurant. I went during restaurant week and really felt like I got my money’s worth. Pizza is made with fresh ingredients and yummy cheeses. We got the Uova Bianca and Tartufo. They were great. The bartender was really friendly and made awesome cocktails. Beer selection could definitely be better but pros outweigh the cons. Fun fact: part of the bar is made from an old urinal. The décor is really nice and they have outdoor seating(dogs allowed!).

Continuing our whirlwind tour of restaurants in Canton/Fells Point, we treated ourselves to the heavenly trifecta of dairy + carbs + booze at Verde last night! For those of you who don’t know, the man & I moved to Baltimore from Nashville last Sunday. It hasn’t even been 7 days, but we’ve been knocking back crushes and local fare with reckless abandon! These neighborhoods have so much to offer, especially when it comes to Italian cuisine. Posting up at the bar(per usual), we started our meal with the burrata appetizer($ 15 — a creamy, soft mound of house made mozzarella stuffed with ricotta perfectly seasoned with salt, pepper, high quality olive oil and fresh basil leaves) and a Corn and Oil crafted cocktail($ 11). Steve, an over 2-year veteran of Verde and the master of their cocktail program, shared intimate details of this drink design, truly illustrating the careful selection process and attention to ingredients that this restaurant is known for. Following the burrata, whose portion is ample enough to share with a larger group, we dug into the Zanelotti pizza($ 18 — featuring house made mozzerella, sopressata — a spicy, thick-cut salami, wild mushrooms, juicy kalamata olives and Pecorino Romano cheese.) We also shared a bottle of Sawbuck Cabernet(pleasantly priced at $ 36) and learned that Tuesday nights are ½ off bottles of wine! Well then!!! We were surprised with a «Welcome to the Neighborhood» treat at the end of our meal: a sour cherry crumble topped with almond and pistachios served with a side of vanilla gelato. I didn’t see this on the menu or specials board, so we felt extra-fabulous! Thank you to Verde’s staff & management for being so warm and friendly! :) TL;DR: Choice ingredients, careful preparation & warm ambiance make Verde a must-visit when craving authentic Italian! See ya Tuesday’s for ½ off bottles of vino!

This is a beautiful restaurant and the service is good. I was a bit overwhelmed with all of the pizza choices. I had the Lasagna, eggplant and cheese. It was good, but not great.

I had been DYING to try this place for a long time. We were going to go for NYE then changed plans at the last minute. When we finally made it for dinner with friends, I was happy but not ecstatic. Let me start with this. The pizza was fabulous. I loved every bite. Now for everything else… The menu is EXTENSIVE. Too extensive. Trying to pick something to eat off the menu took away from our conversation. Too many options with too many ingredients that took a lot of solo thought. Then, unwillingness to address a custom order… Friend ended up with a cheese pizza because she couldn’t get just mushrooms. I get that it’s an experience, and I don’t usually ding restaurants for not wanting to customize orders, but this is a pizza. Come on. We had a pesto dipping sauce appetizer, which was great, but the ratio of bread to pesto was terribly off. We had all these delicious sauces left to dip into, but no more bread. When we asked for more bread we were charged. :(I get that bread is a menu item, so to give us more would technically be us ordering something else, but we had two plates full of sauces(we ordered two apps for the table of 4) and no bread(and this was after consciously conserving). The customer-oriented thing to do would have been to toss some bread our way gratis, especially since the place was packed and service was slow, so it would have kept the table happy while waiting. Service was off all night… my husband ordered a beer. It took the entire meal for it to arrive. My wine glass was empty for two visits to the table, but our waitress didn’t notice and didn’t stay at the table long enough for me to ask for another glass. I gave up. Also, the place was packed to the gills and the ambient noise prevented our table from having a decent convo even though we were tucked away in a corner. My advice is to come on a night other than Saturday night, and I advise Verde to take a few tables out. Although you might not be able to seat as many people, the ones you can seat will probably have a more enjoyable time(and will probably order more booze!!!). All of that said, the restaurant is beautiful, and the food is fabulous, so don’t stay away, just be prepared.

Went on a double date here on a Friday night and had a great time. The ambiance is beautiful with soft lighting without being stuffy which I think makes it perfect for a night out. Our group really wanted to try the burrata but it was sold out(so sad!) so we went with the trio of pesto which was lovely. Also great to dip our crusts in later. We tried the white pizza with mushroom and arugula. I love love arugula on pizza. It was fantastic but definitely an acquired taste. The other pizza we tried was a special with a butternut squash cream sauce … Another interesting winner. The crust was thin and chewy, cooked in their own brick oven but a bit too burnt in a few places. I would definitely come back to try a few more of their pizza offerings!
