We decided to check this place out for a highly coveted night out. First things first, the atmosphere and the service were definitely A+. I appreciated the staff’s attentiveness. It was mindful and not stalkerish. Very polite and courteous. The food is a different story. Well kinda. The wife thought that the burger was the better than high school car sex. I didn’t try it so I took her word.

Awesome food! I live in the building, and have been several times now. Everything I have gotten was delicious. Pork belly, Chicken Risotto, Deviled Eggs are all A+. Staff are friendly, and service is quick.

For a small neighborhood wine bar, it’s great — good wine selection, solid food, and cool décor. Good spot for a quiet night out or a date. I would recommend checking it out!

Just visited after several years of not. Always thought it was a neighborhood gem. Good selection of wines, service was good only 3 tables other than us were there., like their Bison Meatballs and flatbread… sauce on meatballs was so good we used to dip bread. My friend had clams she throughly enjoyed. The waitress was attentive as was server… Only compliant was restrooms… I will come again.

Great atmosphere, wine was great and service was great. Wasnt very busy for a Friday night but feel location is the main reason, should increase as housing proximity in the area increases. Will go back.

I’m not sure why the listing says Silo .5% is closed, I just went there last night and LOVE it. I love a good Wine Bar and small crowds so this is up my alley. This time I opted to «go red» with a glass(ok TWO glasses) of Château Julien. Such a light semi-sweet red ideal for the summer. Great choice! I also complimented the wine with the Silo Burger. This medium-well beefy treat was loaded with caramelized onions, lettuce and cheddar cheese. I though about ditching the bread to avoid the carbs… but this is a WINE bar. You kind of need something to balance your palate and frankly keep you sober with a couple of glasses of water. I’d love to attend a tasting at Silo on day. That Locust Point location, parking and gentle breeze from the nearby Inner Harbor make for a #winning ambiance to sip and socialize. BTW, I read some of the unhappy reviews and ironically the complaints about the Locust Point location being too«out of the way» are the same reasons I prefer Silo .5%. Salute!

The best long island iced tea I have ever had! They were not scheduled to open until 5 but they let us in for a drink at 4! 5 stars!

This place is trying to be a trendy wine bar though due to out of way and proximity to residential location it feels more like a yuppie cheers. A group of the customers actually sang happy birthday to the chef. The food was good as enjoyed the short rib pizza and boar bangers. Service was quick and almost too quick as was still eating pizza when bangers came out. They were nice enough to come by to see if wanted to have them kept warm. There house wines are very reasonable for a wine bar as the Pinot Gris was 25 for the bottle. Not sure how often will head out to the area as live in downtown but place is worth a visit especially for anyone already out in federal hill.

Ok, so I went here with a groupon and was treated like a normal patron, which was AWESOME. No aloofness nor looking down their nose at me! Yay! We got a bottle of the house red(simple and fantastic) as well as 3 appetizers– the mac-n-cheese, the fried oysters and the braised pork shoulder. All 3 were heaven to the tastebuds, although the portions left me crying for seconds and thirds and honestly, just a normal portion size. The service was attentive and pleasant, making the overall experience something I’d go back for.

I used to like the atmosphere here and the wine is reasonably priced. It loses a couple of stars since they recently installed TVs above the bar, which are always on and even had a little sound coming from them the last time I was there. Most of the other wine bars in the city(e.g. The Wine Market, 13.5%) do not have TVs, which makes them a better choice. Hopefully management will realize the error of their ways and remove the TVs, or at least turn them off except for Ravens and Orioles games(a reasonable compromise).

Due to the lack of communication, limited menu and poor service Silo gets 2 stars, one for the clean/trendy atmosphere and one for the mac n’ cheese. Otherwise, I wouldn’t waste my time and here’s why. About a month ago my boyfriend and I thought it would be a great date night idea to use a Groupon deal I purchased for a bottle of wine and two shared dishes. After riding around trying to find a parking space and the exact location(15+ mins), we asked the concierge at the apartments next door where it was only to be told that they were closed for a private event/wedding. Hmph, it would have been nice to have posted something on the website or even left a message on the voicemail indicating the restaurant would be closed for the evening(hint #1 maybe?). Frustrated, we checked out another local spot. Fast forward, a friend and I decided to check Silo out this past weekend so that I could use my deal before it expired. It is definitely a cute, trendy little spot on the water, but the customer service was horrible as the bartender seemed like he didn’t want to be bothered with us. It wasn’t crowded by any means and making a reservation was pointless as we were told we can sit any where we like at 8pm on Saturday(hint #2?). They give you some iPad thing with the menu on it in addition to a paper menu but we were told that only what’s available on the paper menu is what we can order. Okay, so what’s the point of the iPad menu? Not sure if it’s because of the Groupon deal or if that’s all they were offering that night as everyone received the same thing, but I wasn’t impressed. The menu was very limited(hint #3). I don’t eat beef or pork, so I just had the mac n’ cheese and my friend got the short ribs. You can definitely share the mac n’ cheese which was good, but not the short rib(yes it was really«short»). Needless to say we were still hungry so we ordered another mac n’ cheese. We were never asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything else, something I noticed the bartender did with the couple beside us. Not a problem, it’ll just be reflected in your tip. So while I was in the great company of a dear friend, I will not return to Silo. Take the hints and go elsewhere…

I’ve never had a bad experience at this Resturant, the staff is wonderful at taking care of it’s customers. The food is always well made, and flavorful. Great spot for mom’s night out.

This was the most disappointing meal I have ever had. We had been to 13.5 Wine Bar(their sister restaurant) in Hamden, and enjoyed the experience. We went there on our anniversary weekend. We ordered 6 small plates; only 3 were edible, and one of those was a bowl of old bay popcorn. The pork belly taco and sliders were edible. However, the shrimp over salad(bitter), stuffed mushrooms(cooked down to nothing), and shrimp scampi(pasta was mush) were pitiful. My wife and I love to go to new places and experience different foods. I would have rather eaten at McDonalds. We actually left and went to another restaurant to eat something satisfying. This place is terrible and is quite frankly an embarrassment. I would not recommend anyone waste their money at this restaurant.

I live in South Baltimore, so my goal is to try all of the places nearby. My friend and I were on a dinner quest and looking for something on the lighter side so we opted for a place with small plates. I had heard that Silo.5% Wine Bar in Locust Point had some pretty good small plate options as well as a great wine list so my friend and I decided to head over and check out the options. If you’re familiar with Miguels Cocina Y Cantina, Silo.5% Wine Bar is right next to it. The décor inside is trendy and the whole space has a sleek/modern feel to it. After sitting down at our table, we each looked over the drink list and decided on a glass of wine. We also looked over the menu and decided to start with a Spinach and Artichoke Dip. The highlight of this dish, were the chips, which presumably came from a bag. We were really not pleased with the dip, after only a few bites we decided to just eat the chips. The dip had a funky taste and texture that did not sit well with us. The next dish we ordered was a Caesar Salad. This was only okay. Better than the dip, but the dressing wasn’t the creamy caesar style dressing we were accustomed to. Next up was the Brie & Cheddar Mac. Based on what we had already ordered, we didn’t have high hopes for this dish. However, this dish turned out to be pretty great. It was baked, super cheesy and had a nice spice to it. The last thing we decided to share was the Tomato Mozzarella Pizza. We didn’t really know what to expect because so far we only liked one out of the three dishes. However this pizza ended up being the highlight of the meal, the crust was nice and thin and the cheese to sauce ratio wasn’t bad. Would I return to Silo.5% Wine Bar for anything other than a drink? Probably not. The things we ordered that we did like, still weren’t excellent. They just seemed amazing in comparison to the other food.

Do not come here. Period. Came here for Valentine’s Day. We had reservations but were seated in the bar area. Only after giving us our bottle of wine, and waiting until we had started drinking it, did the server come over to inform us that their oven was broken and they weren’t sure when our food would be out. At that point we looked around and noticed not one single table in the full room had food. Of course she waited until we had started drinking our wine to tell us this. After over an hour and a half of waiting we decided we were going to pay for our wine and get dinner elsewhere they brought out our appetizers. We were stuck. The appetizers were okay, but my boyfriend also ordered oysters and never received them. When we asked the server when they were coming out she said she never heard him ask for them. I saw her write it down when we were ordering so she either forgot or they ran out. My main course was alright but his was not. He got a seafood stew and could not eat much of it because it contained a bad scallop. Dessert was a «strawberry shortcake tower» which consisted of a hard biscuit sliced in half with 2 diced up strawberries and a foul tasting glaze on top of it. The server herself was nice but service was the slowest I have ever experienced. We were there for three hours. I will never come back to this establishment and strongly advise to go elsewhere if you’re looking for a nice dining experience in the area.

Cool atmosphere. Food was fantastic — my wife said it’s the best meal she’d ever eaten. The wines they suggested were great. The manager was an incredible host. It was a bit out of the way, but it was worth the trip around the harbor.

LOVES: Trendy and lounge-y atmosphere Edamame w soy and garlic glaze delish! Wagyu Sliders with hourse«chips»(which were really fries) Bahn mi(not a traditional bahn mi… was an american interpretation of a bahn mi but was nevertheless very tasty!) Strawberry seasonal cobbler was to die for(probably made mostly of butter… which is how i like it!) Great wine and champagne selection Lives music!(solo guitarist the night I went) NEGATIVES: They were out of quite a few wines(but they did have substitutes) The Brie and Cheddar mac was over-the-top rich and about the size of a quarter. Either lower the price or give a larger portion! The tomato mozzarella pizza was something I could have made at home. Will be back for some more wine, live music, and small plates!

We visited here in the end of last summer, and really liked the vibe. It was slow day since the weather wasn’t perfect, but we enjoyed looking out f the windows and had good cocktails. We shared multiple small plates and almost everything we had were pleasant. Service was prompt and server was nice. Enough reasons for me to want to come back.

Cool little place up in Baltimore that a friend brought me to. I was impressed with the lounge atmosphere and the selection of drinks they had(some neat looking hand crafted ones). I wasn’t in the mood for a mixed drink, so I did not partake. I did have an appetizer(artichoke dip), that was fan-riffic. I’ll be back when I’m up that way again.

Hmm… Silo.5% has a long way to go before it’s really ready to welcome guests and create a following. We got to there just as they were opening and I expected that there might be a happy hour special or two since I read this on their website: «Happy Hour is a great time to take advantage of Silo.5% atmosphere and selections without the logistical or financial burden of a full dinner». There were no specials(wouldn’t it be smart to offer something when you’re a brand new business?) still, we stayed and had a glass of wine and a plate of delicious figs stuffed with goat cheese. We were the only people in there for at least a ½ hour and it was a little strange to see a staff of 12 milling around with nothing to do. The décor is striking — the bright green looks great and the wine on the wall is fun — but it’s the same few bottles repeated over and over so it’s not nearly as interesting as it could be. And the bar stools look soooo uncomfortable! Our leather loveseat, table and two ottomans looked good, but you could tell that the quality was lacking. This is a place that seems to be all form and no function. Our waiter was attentive, but way too formal. I feel like Silo.5% wants to be super upscale but it may be better served trying to be a bit more laid back. I think I’ll wait a long while to return but I hope they find their niche and get a good thing going in Silo Point.
