We went for a day trip to Baltimore. We asked a local person for a good, local(non chain) seafood place and this is what he recommended. I was a little disappointed all around. The restaurant décor is outdated, the bathrooms smelled really bad and was dirty. The food was a little bland and nothing to «wow» me over. It was a little on the pricey side. Drinks were expensive, too. $ 15 is too much for a drink with some liquor and juice. Not much of a beer selection.

I WILLNEVERCOMEHEREAGAIN!!! So the food was decent. However, the server was really slow. We had to repeatedly ask for things. We never got checked on at all except for when they brought us food. We sat there for 20 mins waiting for our check and when we finally saw our server she saw us and walked the other direction. I had to get up and ask the lady for the check. And then they claim that there is an issue with their computers so they couldn’t split the check. Just to add an automatic 30 dollar tip to it(there were only 4 us) and they didn’t deserve that. I could understand if the service was great they would deserve it. Worst service for what is supposed to be a classy restaurant.

Rockfish stuff with all kinds of seafood was delicious and I couldn’t eat the entire dish so I had to take it home and to think I order the lunch size.

Hands down the WORST seafood restaurant in my 55 years on this earth. And I know what I am talking about… after spending most of my life in on the Gulf of Mexico, Florida and the East coast and working as a professional chef. The ‘grilled red snapper’ arrived as a slab of rubbery, overcooked and partially rotted, butter doused pseudo-fish that was probably panned fried and past its due date so overcooked. If I don’t have diarrhea tomorrow it will be a miracle. To make it worse, we asked the waitress her opinion about a lot of dishes and she said most were not good! Crab cakes were OK but looked bread filled to me, the broccoli was definitely from a frozen Green Giant package. My guests did not like the shrimp or fish either. If these were the waitress approved dishes, I’d hate to encounter the others. The 17% auto-tip was the rancid icing on the rotten cake. Recommended by the Hilton Garden Inn down the street. Shame on you Hilton. Other Unilocal reviews refer to «local recommendation» too… definitely something(rotten) fishy going on here.

Mo’s was recommended to us by the nicest concierge at the Renaissance Hotel. We had the crab cake, big and delicious, served with a side-we got the mixed vegetables, which were really good. The pasta Diablo is a huge serving of seafood and pasta, served piping hot, it was magnificent. Salad good. Because everything was so good I couldn’t even touch my crab legs and gave them to a friend. We were just too full. My son had the calamari, French fries and cheese sticks-enjoyed them all. He’s even having the leftovers for lunch right now;)

My card was run twice, for two different amounts, neither of which matched what was on the copy of my receipt(Nor did they add up to that amount). When I called this morning to get it fixed, the reaction was just, «Well the owners not in until Monday.» Today is a Saturday. There was no I’m sorry, no let me take your information, just a flat disinterested tone. I asked if anyone else could help. I was told they guess someone could, but not until 3:00 pm, so was just going to have to wait. The wait didn’t bother me, but the attitude did. There was clearly no desire to fix this on their part. They even refused to my information. I wouldn’t risk going here again for anything.

Overpriced and not worth the hype. A few locals told me to come here. I don’t eat seafood often so I was super excited– honestly I prefer Red Lobster

I was very disappointed in this place recently. I have been coming to Mo’s for a couple of years now and this by far has been the worst experience. The food was ok but the management was horrible. I have never encountered management that disrespectful. It was very unusual and it ruined my experience. Based on that alone I would not recommend eating here. The seafood is just ok and if you have to put up with the management to get just okay seafood it is definitely not worth it.

Smelled disgusting inside! Nasty old interior. Appitizers poor quality and not even hot. Waited 1& ½ hours and never got entrees. We left and ate back at our hotel.

My wife & I stopped in to have lunch while visiting Baltimore this past weekend. Normally we don’t go by the reviews here on Unilocal but this is one time we should have. I ordered a bowl of French Onion Soup & the Broiled Seafood Platter while my wife had the Crab Soup and the Fried Seafood Platter. Soups: French Onion Soup: Soup was«m’eh» and I’ve definitely had better. After eating some of the soup, I removed the rest of the melted cheese from the rim of the bowl and found a hair on the rim(must’ve come from the hairy onion. lol). Showed this to the server who then contacted the manager. The manager apologized and offered free dessert as well as removing the charge for the soup. Crab Soup: My wife was definitely not happy with it. Soup looked & tasted as if they opened up a can of vegetable soup & added a little crab meat to it. Very bland. Entrees: Broiled Seafood Platter(fish filet, jumbo lump Imperial crab, scallops, shrimp, oyster Rockefeller and clams casino) $ 27 Overall this dish was very bland. Shrimp & Scallops were a bit chewy and no seasoning, the Imperial Crab had too much mayo & no seasoning and the fish(not sure what type of fish) also had very little seasoning, Oysters Rockefeller & Clams Casino should have been listed as Oyster Rockefeller & Clam Casino as the platter only came with 1 of each. probably the best things on the platter. At least put 2 of each on the platter. Fried Seafood Platter(deep fried fish filet, crab cake, scallops, shrimp and soft clam strips) $ 27 Again no/very little seasoning. Fried Fish(not sure which fish but my wife suspected it’s tilapia) nicely fried but unseasoned. Crab cake had too much mustard used. The scallops, shrimp & clam strips were the best things on the platter. While the manager did remove the charge for the French Onion Soup and offered us the dessert, we were a bit surprised to see an automatic/mandatory 17% gratuity added to the bill. Overall we were thoroughly disappointed with the overall quality of the food and we’ll definitely look elsewhere for seafood on our next visit to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

Friendly service. Delicious food. It’s open 365 days/year; you really can’t beat this place. Love Mo’s!

So I have been wanting to try this place for a long time because it is said to have the«best crab cakes» in Baltimore and I am glad I finally came here. The crab cakes are big and don’t have any filler which is what Baltimore is known for so good job! Our server Amir was awesome and while he told us that most people eat 1.5 crab cakes, we still shared the crab cake plate and thank goodness because it was too much food for my friend and I! Amir was also one of the most honest servers I have ever had! From the moment we sat down he was attentive and gave us positive feedback. I had asked about the crab fluffs and his face really expresses how he felt about them so I didn’t order them. Also when we’re were interested in ordering the catfish, he suggested trying something more local. Overall the food was decent though it was maybe a step from a chain restaurant in terms of ambiance, service, and décor. Not sure I’d go back when there are so many places on the water where you could get crab cakes but I’m glad I checked it out.

WARNING: DONOTGOHERE!!! This restaurant reminds me why you AWAYS have to check Unilocal before just going by word of mouth. My parents and I are up from Florida and wanted to try«the best local seafood». Wow… I feel like the people that recommended this place to us were playing a cruel joke. Let’s start with first impressions. When you walk in, it’s very dirty and mediocre. Not what I expected from a well known local place. Thought it would be… a little more effort put in you know? Crud on the floor… very poor atmosphere and depressing. We were seated at our small, round white tablecloth covered table with partially stained napkins? Anyway, the first red flag were my parents’ wine glasses. There was some green leafy type food on the edges of the glasses. Ew. When brought to the attention of the slow waitress, she said nothing as she grabbed both glasses and walked away. really? No apology? Once that was taken care of, out came out our appetizers. I’m not that into seafood so I got the chicken fingers and fries. My parents got the cream of crab soup, Maryland crab soup, and some kind of crab stuffed oysters. #1– My fries were old and ice cold, with slightly warmer than room temp chicken. Sent it back with a nice eye roll from the waitress, and once again no apology. Waited for my fresh food. #2– My mothers crab soup was bland and gravy-like, with slim to none crab chunks. Disgusting. Sent back and taken off the check, but here’s the catch: the waitress says, «yeah that doesn’t really sell its not that good.» Well why didn’t you say so? And if it’s so bad and you all realize this, why not change it? The oysters were just ehh. Nothing special. Definitely not worth $ 16. My fathers soup he had no problem with. It went downhill fast from that point. When I got my food back, the fries were hot but not fresh, and the chicken was the exact same temp as before. And the chicken literally tasted like the kind you buy frozen at the store. I wasn’t hungry anymore. My family and I decided we were done here, and decided to just pay for our appetizers and refuse to pay for our entrees that hadn’t come out yet. And people that came in 15 mins after us got served before we did. We asked for the check and were blown away that just after two appetizers, a soup, and three glasses of wine ended up at a whopping $ 72. So with crappy service they decide they can pin an included 17% tip on your bill. Wow. All in all, DONOTLISTENTOTHELOCALSANDDONOTCOMEHERE!!!

If this place had better service it would have gotten another star or two. I think since 17% gratuity is added to the check(regardless of your party size — contrary to what the menu says) takes the heat off of the staff and they take advantage of it. The food(crab cakes and oysters specifically) was fantastic but service was incredibly slow, drinks were never refilled. Our orders were messed up – which was kind of funny because we all orders their famous crab cakes. I thought it was pricey.

Went here for a late night dinner(I believe they close at 1 am). We were promptly seated, upstairs, which was weird as we walked past at least 10 empty downstairs tables to get to the steps. Anyways, the guy who guided us told us to sit anywhere we liked, and our waiter was over to us promptly. The décor is uhm well dated to say the least and the fish/sharks on the walls are covered with about 2 inches of thick dust, which left a bit to be desired; especially when you’re about to chow down, but 1 of my traveling companion wanted to eat there so I sucked it up. At first glance, I thought wow these prices are ridiculous, now before you judge hear me out. I simply don’t believe in paying excessively for food, or anything for that matter that’s not going to be with you for a lifetime. I felt $ 26 for seafood Alfredo that couldn’t be too much different than that of Olive Gardens $ 12 version was a bit much; however, I must admit it was good — tons of shrimp, scallops, etc. I actually ran out of pasta. The complimentary bread was not that great, pretty dry and hard, but the meals, we enjoyed our meals, so I guess the $ 120 tab for 3 people was(kinda) worth it.

We were pointed here after asking a local what the best seafood in Baltimore was. If this is the best seafood in Baltimore. …no thanks. The place is very large, and on a corner on a busy street. Worried that it was closed on memorial day, we hesitantly peeked in… and saw one family dining! Perhaps I should’ve just gotten pure seafood. The prices were a bit hefty, so I chose to stay on the appetizers page instead of trying the famous crab cakes. I also ordered a soup, which came out suspiciously quickly… very mediocre. My cheese-encrusted clams were too heavy and greasy, although I could taste hints of fresh seafood under all that grease. Other dishes ordered by the table were also very mediocre, except the fried scallops. Someone ordered a seafood platter thing that was filled with a strange egg/mustard/mayo sauce holding together chunks of potential seafood… no thanks. Service was also very slow; it took almost 20 minutes to wave her down so we could get our check.

A friend of a friend recommended Mo’s as a good place for seafood while in the Baltimore area. I’m wondering if we went to the wrong location or he confused this with a different restaurant all together. From the moment we entered, I was confused. I had asked for a more casual place(we weren’t looking for anything fancy) yet there were fancy tablecloths and fancy linens at each place setting. It definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. Service was okay, but getting refills of water and extra bread was a challenge. My friend ordered the crab cake(she wasn’t impressed) and I ordered the broiled rockfish(I’m still not sure what rockfish is, but it was okay). The décor is awkward and outdated. And we were none too pleased when we noticed the gratuity already added to our check. On the plus side, they do have their own parking lot. Unfortunately we did not know this until we had already parked several blocks away.

Ever hear of buyers remorse? I feel that times 15% given my experience at Mo’s Seafood. It was an utter disaster. Ok I decided to give it a try despite the fact that their décor sucks, I should have turned around when the host didn’t look pleased. So I press forward on this adventure because I’m on the hunt for an awesome crab cake. We ordered: –Cream of crab soup — Gross! Had to send it back. It was thick, almost gravy paste, with no taste and no crab. Disgusting! –Caesar salad — croutons were soft, salad was meh –Jumbo lump crab cakes — they should change the name to crap cakes. It looked nothing like any of the pictures I have seen online or through social media. –Spiced shrimp — this was good but was overshadowed by all the other terrible faux pas. Our server provides us with a to go box to take our barely eaten crap cakes. He brings us our bill with a smile and leaves us a nice fat check for $ 84.26. We noticed after the fact that the restaurant charged us 15% tip already added into the total for a party of 2. This is against Maryland law! Restaurants cannot add in gratuity any longer to the bill. Mo’s Seafood was terrible! I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Save your money people! You can do better at McDonald’s.

Okay, fair warning here: when it comes to aesthetics, this place definitely leaves much to be desired. The décor is dated and it seems that they’ve gotten their money’s worth from the table and chairs. Just look beyond that; you’ll be grateful that you did. First off, even though the restaurant is located right across from the harbor, they have a small off-street parking lot adjacent to it that patrons can use at no charge(no charge! In downtown Baltimore, that in and of itself is a blessing!). On the many occasions that I’ve been to Mo’s, the waitstaff is attentive and thoughtful, so even though they do automatically add a 17% gratuity to checks regardless of party size, I have never felt the level of service did not deserve such a tip. The menu is extensive so I’m sure that if seafood is your thing, you will no doubt find something to your liking. This go round, my family and I ordered the mussels in garlic sauce, calamari, and crab dip as appetizers for the table. Everything was delicious and fresh and disappeared rather quickly. For my entrée I ordered the Greek seafood salad. It was nothing short of amazing. The portion sizes are very generous here and the salad was no exception. It was piled high with scallops, crab meat, shrimp, feta cheese, kalamata olives, and all other Greek salad goodness. The the dressing… I seriously hope that one day they divulge that secret recipe to me! In my opinion, the pricing is on par with the size of the entrée and the fact that it’s seafood(and not say, pasta or chicken). I always enjoy my experiences at Mo’s so it will continue to be my first stop every time I visit Baltimore.
